STAY AWAY FROM TOUCHSTONE IMAGING!! Major issues with the way they handle billing. They charge you before you receive services, and won't perform any services until they have your money. I understand this practice for self pay patients. But this should not apply to insured patients, especially where the provider is in network and subject to the contract with the insurer. The usual process is to receive services, the provider submits a claim to insurance, insurance issues an Explanation of Benefits, then the provider issues a bill matching the EOB, and finally, the patient pays that amount knowing it is correct because insurance has verified. (In my experience, when you're charged incorrectly, it is extremely difficult to claw back money already paid and takes a great deal of time and trouble, if you're even successful.) Instead, Touchstone insisted on collecting an estimated amount (multiple hundreds of dollars) before they would perform services. The only exception they make is if you provide a reference number from a call to the insurance company... and conveniently, they don't tell you this until you're checking in for your appointment. I spoke to 3 reps before my appointment and none of them mentioned this option. On top of it, they won't provide you with an itemized receipt at the time you pay. They provide a regular receipt (no description of services, which FSA companies require). And they provide a separate estimate document, which does have all the information you need to provide to FSA (including a description of services), but also has "estimate" watermarked across it, so it's not proof of payment (a receipt). It's an estimate. I spoke to three different front desk people and they were rude, unhelpful, and clearly didn't care that what I was asking for was reasonable and customary. My FSA company will freeze my card if I don't provide itemized receipts, and FSA money is "use or lose." They should know how this works and update their policies and practices to reflect this. Let's just say, I'm not holding my breath. I will never use this provider again and suggest you stay away. read more

Being given a report with explanations of the terminology and definitions of terms used in the reports is fantastic. The patient is now on the same page as their medical provider. I had an awful experience getting an MRI today. I'm a 15 year Stage IV cancer survivor and have had dozens of scans. First, the office contacted me yesterday or reschedule me for an hour earlier than my appointment time, which I was okay with, but nobody told the staff or the computer system my appointment time had changed, so I had to wait 1-1/2 hours. I had a later doctor's appointment this afternoon, so I had to use what they provide, which was a pair of disposable size 2X paper shorts. Because I've taken my 90 lb/90 yo mother there for scans, and she won't leave the house in sweatpants, she's been given those shorts, too. Neither of us will be returning, and I'll be calling both of our BSW doctors tomorrow. read more

I unfortunately would not recommend this imaging center. The center itself is very nice and the staff was nice however I was quoted around 300 with insurance and later after the imaging the bill was an additional 900. I have been to other imaging places (south west diagnostic) and I never had this experience with billing. This was a very frustrating experience. read more

Had a pretty similar experience as the other bad reviews. When I was leaving I had questions, but there wasn't a receptionist anywhere to be found. I waited for over 15 minutes and nobody ever surfaced. I ended up leaving and had to go back. I needed a copy of my MRI results and called into have this ready. I was told it would be 1 hour. I went 3 hours later and it still wasn't ready, they made me wait an additional hour until it could be ready. Once I took this to my DR. turns out they gave me someone else's MRI. Isn't that a HIPPA violation.... It's been nothing but a runaround to get any answers or documents for an MRI that I paid more than $400 for. read more

My wife had long wait times to the point we had to reschedule the first appointment. What's the point of having an appointment when they can't manage the work load. Terrible customer service, my wife was told she would be called in "ten minutes " twice, while the person who came in after her was called in before her. read more

These past negative reviews don't even remotely reflect the place that I went to today. These people are awesome! I've had over 25 different CT, CAT, and MRI imaging scans over the past 30+ years and these people are right up there with the best ever! Gina checked me in and was pleasant and efficient, and Melissa the technician was the best tech I've ever had. She did everything possible to make me feel comfortable and. though I've done this many times, she kept me informed about what was happening and what to expect the entire way through and made it pleasant with her friendly personality. She made what is usually not so pleasant a very pleasant event. She was professional, confident, thorough and was great to talk to. I hope to see her pictures from her upcoming Italy vacation on the ceiling next time I come back! Thanks Melissa and everyone at Touchstone. Anyone who goes here will be glad they did. I waited 8 minutes to be seen after a 5 minutes to check in, and my scans didn't take 7 minutes. In and out within 20 minutes. Due to some previous reviews, I confirmed beforehand with my Insurance that it would be $230. That's exactly what I was charged. It seems they've resolved any previous problems I've read in reviews. Just an extremely disorganized office. Literally every person there is arguing with the front desk about some sort of issue. Got a call saying they need to cancel my moms appointment because she has a medical implant, my mom does not have any medical implants. They said the tech entered that information into her chart. Extremely dangerous situation, because whichever patient DOES have that implant, doesn't have it in their chart now. Show up to the appointment and the front desk tells us that they scheduled a 30 min time slot for her appointment, when she needs 45 minutes, so they may not be able to check her in and complete her appointment. ???? Not sure why an imaging center is not properly scheduling the correct time for imaging. Right at my mom's appointment time, someone comes to get her with an attitude and starts rushing my mom saying "we're behind schedule so we need to get back". Mind you we showed up 15 minutes early like we were told, and she was taken back right at her appointment time. Not sure why it's the patients fault if the practice is behind. Clearly if they aren't allotting proper time for each scan, that's why they're behind. So many internal problems that seem to be placed onto the patient. read more

We had a terrible experience at Touchstone Imaging in Plano and I am sharing in the hopes of saving others from the pain, anguish, and frustration that we suffered. My husband had an MRI done on his head after many uncomfortable symptoms indicated that there was a good chance he had a prolactinoma. Touchstone's radiologist report stated that there was NO presence of a tumor. After 3 months of his symptoms not getting better, he traveled to Boston for a second opinion at Mass. General Hospital. The Dr. took one look at the MRI and said that there WAS a prolactinoma present!! He prescribed him with the medication that should have been prescribed 3 months earlier and thankfully he is doing much better! Not only did my husband suffer tremendously for an extra 3 months due to a HUGE MISTAKE by the radiologist employed by Touchstone, when I reached out requesting a refund to at least somewhat compensate for the damage done, it took weeks and multiple phone calls to speak with someone and they would not take responsibility! read more

Shoutout to our local community heroes!!! COVID-19 precautions are in place to keep us all safer . Excellent staff! Attentive, personable, and polite. I'm not a morning person and I'm telling you that I could have feel asleep during my ultrasound!!! Melissa the tech had warmed up the ultrasound gel and she was so tender and only pushed as hard as she needed to. I have had techs before that really push so hard that I thought I would break a rib. The exam was professional and Melissa was soft spoken and a great host! I have came here before and the COVID-19 precautions may have changed the way we spread out in the sitting area and stand on our social distancing stickers, but the closeness and caring is still comforting and palpable!!! I would recommend this location because of the staff! It is in a great location also! It is close to the Kroger grocery, restaurants, gas station, highway, and hospital. I've fasted and hadn't had coffee yet! But this was an easy peasy review to write because of how excellent the service is!! Now to search for some coffee! read more

They recommend you to come in 15 mins prior to your appointment, just for you to wait 40 mins . This is absolutely ridiculous! There was only one female at the front that had a good attitude about being at work. As for the other woman, you can sense the attitudes. I am giving one star only because I can't give zero or a negative number. I took my 12-year-old son for an x-ray. The technician was in training. She was unable to position the machine correctly and she tried many times. It was excruciating for my son to bear with the process. Another person came to help her with the imaging. We eventually were done and left. When the results were ready the doctor's office told me that the images are unreadable and the doctor cannot make a medical conclusion for the results. I called Touchstone Imaging to tell them how unprofessionally my son's imaging was handled. The office manager told me that the technician was fired. They asked me to go back to repeat the images. I informed them I'll take my business someplace else. However, they still expect me to pay the bill for the faulty images. DO NOT TRUST TOUCHSTONE IMAGING. They don't care if the job they did is good or bad. They are after your money. read more

My wife had radiology services on 01/10/2023. Before the services, my wife called front desk office, they said accept Cigna Market Place. The date my wife came to their clinic for services. They checked insurance again, they said nothing. Now they sent us a big bill because they are not in the network with Cigna. It is unethical, and also scam set up. It is turn out we have to pay insurance premium and radiology services. If they said not accepting our insurance, There are a lot image services out there we can go without pay a dime under prevention routine check up. Do not go this place for services. I will give them no star if it has it. I am also working for doctor office for more than 30 years, and I know the business throughly. My wife called them several times, and also asked for manager. The reviews make all the sense in the world. I just got a call this morning from a Patty working at touchstone with a terrible attitude. I've done business with touchstone multiple times. They had the wrong information for my insurance card and her desire to want to be helpful was zero. But it doesn't seem like it makes a difference because it looks like touchstone operators don't really concern themselves over the quality of service since there are many other negative reviews here. I don't usually trust negative reviews but I would trust this one. Patty needs to have a position where she doesn't deal with customers. She's flat out terrible. read more
