As a general rule of thumb my reviews are either 1-Star or 5-Stars. In my opinion anything in between is based on individual preferences or issues that could be worked out with the service provider.
After using TKO movers on two separate occasions, I would definitely recommend them to strangers, friends and family. My first experience with them was moving from a small condo to a new home, plus moving a 10x20 storage unit full of furniture to the new home. The condo had some access challenges but the crew adapted and overcame without any issues. The TKO movers were workhorses. The pace was good and their attention to detail in protecting and securing items was impressive (we had several mirrors, glass tables, decorative breakables, framed and unframed artwork and several HEAVY items as well). You could definitely see a method to their packing and loading decision. The storage unit ended up being much more of a task than expected (I forgot how much stuff I had in there) but they powered through it.
On the second occasion, we had been to Round Top market days and purchased two very large mirrors (9' tall x 5' wide). All of the delivery vendors referred by the market shops were either way overpriced or could not (would not) make a delivery until the end of the entire show which was several weeks away. I contacted Charles at TKO and he was able to get the job done quickly and at a very competitive price. These mirrors were no joke; they were huge and heavy. And if you have every been to RT market days you know that the shop owners are not always easy to deal with when it comes to deliveries/shipping/pickup (FYI - stay away from The Porch...terrible attitude and arrogant...California based company...no offense to our friends from Cali). The mirrors were wrapped with much more caution and care than even I would have probably done on my own, and nicely secured for transport and delivery to our home (so this was a TKO response on short notice from Austin...to Round Top...back to Dripping Springs all for a price that rivaled what the Round Top delivery companies wanted to charge for one-way).
We are now settled in and squared away with our bigass mirrors with a nod to TKO for doing the hard (and least fun) part! read more
