I also found out that if you pump up the break pedal and it holds, it probably not the master cylinder, which makes sense. I told the guy at the counter I didn't want to spend a lot of money on it because it's an old car with a lot of miles on it, but I still use it as a backup. It's worth maybe $3,000. So I left the car and got an estimate a couple of hours later with $7,500 worth or recommended repairs, including a new master cylinder, brakes shoes, new hoses and tires, system flushes, etc. etc. I literally told them that that I didn't want to spend a lot of money and really only wanted the brakes looked at. It's an old car and I get that it has a lot of stuff that is wearing out. But maybe next time do what the customer asked and quote the job at hand first before you try to upsell a bunch of extra stuff.

Good inventory management when a small shop has an air and fuel filter for a 15 year old diesel pickup on hand. They topped off all the fluids and checked the drivetrain fluids. Using CarFax they pointed out my coolant was overdue for flushing and replacing, so I got that done also. Tire pressure checked and adjusted. The entire process took less than an hour and their prices are less than dealership prices. And I have never gotten in and out service from a dealership like Take 5. I would recommend them highly.

I absolutely loved it and I'll tell you why... The first thing I was super excited about was the fact that I was able to stay in the car! I quickly realized what I loved just as much was the process and the way things were checked and double checked . Procedures, etc called out loud by the Techs, and in this case, the Manager as well. I have heard so many stories where places will forget to put on a cab or break something, etc. I really appreciate the customer service from the manager, Mitchell and also from the Tech, Erik.
