He was such a joy and provided exceptional service from start to finish. The food was amazing as well! This time, I ordered the green chilaquiles, and they were SO delicious! You can also add your choice of meat, which is a great option. It was my birthday, and since we came in for breakfast, Roberto surprised me with a plate of mini pancakes and a candle. He even had everyone around us sing "Happy Birthday." It was such a sweet and magical way to start my birthday, and it's a moment I won't forget! Came here for brunch on a Saturday and ordered the Quesadillas Fritas, Chilaquiles Rojos, and the El Tri Flight. The Quesadillas Fritas were yummy. Unfortunately, the Chilaquiles Rojos was pretty underwhelming, lacked flavor and tasted quite bland. After being seated, I waited for over 5 minutes while the employee stood nearby folding napkins and completely ignored me. Around 9 minutes later, she walked over to another table and asked if they needed anything else, yet I had still not been acknowledged. It felt as though she was either blatantly ignoring me or simply chose not to serve me. Overall, the customer service and attentiveness were very disappointing. I eventually walked out without ordering. At the very least, someone should acknowledge a guest, offer a menu, or bring a glass of water. Is this San Jose's best kept secret for Mexican food happy hour?? We recently found out they started a happy hour, and it's honestly hard to beat. I don't know where else you can find $2 tacos anymore--and that even includes birria. The birria tacos don't come with consommé, but honestly, they're packed with so much meat in every bite that you don't even miss it. They also have $3 volcanes (kind of like a tostada), which were super tasty, and the $6 margaritas were strong in the best way. Plus, the chips tasted fresh, which always makes a difference. On top of the food, the customer service was amazing--friendly, welcoming, and just overall a great vibe, good music. Street parking was easy to find on a weekday too. read more

Maybe about 5 to 6 spots. There are lots off meter parking on the streets around the restaurant. Queso Fundido with Longanizo and the melted cheese was delicious, one of my favorites. Street Corn with Mexican Mayo, queso cotijo and lime was very tasty. Carne En Su Jugo with Steak simmered in tomatillo sauce, bacon, pinto beans serve with onion, cilantro, radishes and a jalapeno and 3 mini Cheese quesadillas was very good with lots of flavor. But it is different to what I'm used to. This one, the broth is a lot thicker like chile verde. Chilaquiles Verde with Scramble Eggs and Pork Chorizo was a hit with lots of flavor. Sooooo I have stupid food, allergies, and sadly I'm allergic to monosodium glutamate/MSG. Our server had no idea what spices were in the Pacific catch tostada so he went to ask the other chefs in the back. Sadly, they weren't too sure since the prep work was done ahead of time, but the executive chef, was in the restaurant, but not working. So my server, Roberto O., was able to ask him!! The executive chef came up to me at the table as our server introduced who he was since he was wearing his normal street clothes. The Chef offered to make me another version of the Pacific catch tostada, so it would not have any sauce or monosodium glutamate in the sauce and seasoning. He was so sweet to go the extra mile in assisting me with my annoying food allergies!! When the plate came out, I was astonished at how huge the freaking tostadas were!!! They had two tortilla attached to them, and as the first one broke it perfectly, caught all the fish and toppings underneath the second one! Lol I was so stuffed and full. I'm surprised I was able to finish my drink!! I will definitely come back to this location again and get something else or try another dish since the executive chef knows exactly what seasoning is put into everything! It's baaaaaack! The downtown location has returned with a new vibrant look! The decor is giving Miami vibes in DTSJ with its bright orange walls and chairs. I had only been for brunch once before they closed to remodel but wanted to try their expansive dinner menu. We came for an early dinner on Friday night but unfortunately not early enough for happy hour which is from 2-5 pm. They have a kids menu and I ordered the kids chicken quesadillas with beans for my 3 year old and it was enough food to feed 2 adults. It was four pieces of quesadillas and he barely ate one, not because he didn't like it, but because of how filling it was. I can't eat dairy otherwise I would have eaten it because it was so gooey of thick cheese. I ordered the chicken tinga sopes and the order is two very large sopes with beans and a lot of chicken which was perfectly seasoned. The salsa they give has a fierce kick but great flavor. My husband ordered the chicken torta and that sandwich was massive! It came with an order of seasoned fries which all 3 of us really liked. His torta was cut in half so you can see all the ingredients. I don't know how he did it but he ate the whole thing. The service was solid and by the time we were done around 6:20 pm, the restaurant was getting busy. They have great music playing and some bar seating with a great cocktail menu. read more

Walked in today Sunday 08/23/26 at 1:00 PM for brunch. We were sat down near the front door. For 30 minutes not one member of the staff checked on us. I ended up having to flag down a server twice. First time she gave me a: and proceeded to help another table. About 10 minutes after that. She decides to start helping the table sat right next to us. Who we saw, receive, eat, and finish there food. While we not ONCE were acknowledged or even brought water. I proceeded to tell her, " We were sat down 30 minutes ago. We have not received any service." To which she replied to the effect of, " We are busy, i'm cleaning off this table, sorry." Obviously the disrespect was unfathomable and from there we proceeded to stand up, and leave. The gates of purgatory would have to fly open before we ever set foot in this abhorrent establishment again. After reading some previous yelp reviews about this place, it seems this is not the only time this exact incident has occurred. Garbage, disgusting, service. Hire better or fire the staff. read more
