I came here one Friday evening for dinner. Wow, this place has a great atmosphere, food and drinks. There was even live music. We ordered two items to share for 3 people which was more than enough. Ordered the Molcajete Costa Alegre and Vasiloco Mixto. The Molcajete Costa Alegre is a seafood mix of different types of shrimp, crab legs, octopus, bass fish filet, green mussels, in a chipotle cream sauce with nopal, cilantro, and fried jalapeno. It was served with fresh flour tortillas. The cream sauce went very well with the tortillas, had some nuttiness in it which was good. Good amount of seafood as well. Would definitely get again. Extra tortillas cost $1 each. Vasiloco mixto is a shrimp, fish, octopus, mexican scallops with a black aguachile sauce, avocado and tostadas on the side. Good variety of seafood. The food was delicious, will definitely come back.

I got the crispy shrimp tacos, a michelada, and a mixed drink and it really hit the spot . Tacos were flavorful and just the right amount of crisp Worth the hype for sure. I honestly didn't want to leave, but I could see there was a line and lots people waiting for tables, so I didn't want to be greedy and take up a seat any longer than I needed to. If you're looking for good food, drinks, and a fun atmosphere, definitely give Mariscos Costa Alegre a try!
First time at this Mariscos spot and I'm so glad that we stopped! Oh my God, the menu is so extensive but everything looks so good. I wanted to try everything we went at the right time for lunch. My daughter-in-law ordered the dungeon crab a lot of crab. She brought some home. I ordered the pulpo a la Diabla. Everything was so delicious. I brought mine home too. I had a shot of Mezcal we ordered the mango Caliente drink service was excellent. They didn't hover but they were there attentive. I love the outdoor seating. They have a huge screen TV out there music it wasn't too loud. The ambience was perfect not too noisy. Everyone was enjoying their food and having a good time that's what it's all about. We'll definitely go back. I want to take my husband if you're into seafood, you have to try this place

Outdoor seating = great Valentina is my server = beautiful, kind, and very helpful. I ordered the ceviche Mixto on her recommendation!!! Some of the best CEVICHE that I've ever had. Did I say there's soccer here in San Jose?!?!?! Anyways, all of the staff go out of their way to be sure that you're taken care of and happy. Food is fresh and fantastico. A wide variety of seafood dishes as well as some traditional Mexican dishes. Service is great and the food is delicious. I had the Caldo de pescado(Bass fish soup and it was delicious. The caldo(broth)was spicy but not overbearing. The fish seemed to melt in my mouth like butter. Glad we were finally able to get in.

We ordered the ceviche, tacos de marlin, and a burrito, and everything was fantastic. They also brought out a complimentary soup at the start, which was a great touch and really delicious. The menu is huge, and honestly, it was tough to decide because so many things sounded good. The only downside was that they seemed a bit understaffed, so getting a server's attention took some patience at times. That said, it wasn't enough to take away from the overall experience. Amazing food, lively vibe, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more.

If you're going purely for the food, it's worth checking out. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the food. No one ever came around when we were finished so I ended up walking up to the front to pay with the bartender by the front door. I'd still come back for the seafood, but I hope they can improve the service to match how good the food is.

We've been to this restaurant at least half a dozen times, and it never disappoints! The food and drinks are always delicious, and the ambiance truly makes you feel like you've been transported to Mexico. Came in with a group of 10 and Orlando our server was very accommodating to our needs, we had 2 people in wheelchair and others with disabilities. Orlando was great and made us all feel welcomed. Hot days always have me craving ceviche and shrimp cocktails, and this place hits the spot every time! The food is delicious, flavorful, and exactly what I'm looking for when I want something refreshing but still satisfying. The ceviche has the perfect balance of flavors, and the shrimp cocktail is always a favorite. My friends and I came here on a Monday for their michelada deals. We sat outside under the canopy, which was really nice. It was spacious and there was a nice breeze throughout our meal. Before we ordered, the server brought us shrimp soup and tostadas. The soup was super flavorful and the tostadas were super crispy. My friends and I decided to order the super micheladas, aguachiles, and frutas con camaron. The micheladas were huge and came with 6 perfectly cooked and seasoned shrimps. The shrimps were a bit spicy, but we all really liked them. I believe it was around 10 dollars for each drink. Considering the size and amount of shrimp, I thought it was a pretty good deal. The aquachiles came with mango and cucumber. It was my first time eating aquachiles and I loved it! This dish also had a good amount of spice. The frutas y camaron were seasoned similarly to the shrimps on the micheladas, and the fruit had chamoy and tajin. This was my first time eating this dish too, and I really liked it. I have visited most of the other Costa Alegre locations and, as usual, it never disappoints. This location is usually packed, but we were seated in less than 15 minutes. Our food arrived quickly and was full of flavor and great quality. We ordered the calamari-pulpo, camarones trio, one tostada de camarón, and one taco de alpastor -- everything was delicious and well-prepared. Our server was nice and attentive. She checked in with us multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed, which we really appreciated. The only downside is how difficult it can be to find parking, as it can get pretty crazy. This place is consistently good. My favorite thing to order is the camarones à la diabla. So spicy and delicious. You have to try it! Highly recommend it. I always get either the camaron ceviche or the pulpo ceviche to share. I have tried the fajitas and molcajate and they are good options to share. The sushi is worth the try. Different than the usual sushi but good. The squirt preparda is very refreshing. A good option if you don't drink. I have been coming for years and don't really take photos. This mariscos was recommended by some friends. We came for weekday lunch and luckily they were able to accommodate my big group for walk-in. There's plenty of outdoor seating in addition to the area out in front near the parking lot. The menu had us feeling overwhelmed... but in a good way! They had lots of food options to choose from and I loved how there were pictures included for almost all menu items. I ended up choosing the fish tacos which were fresh and delicious. Each of us were also given a cup of soup before our dishes arrived. There's also plenty of flavors to choose from if you decide to order margaritas. Highly recommend the tamarind margarita if you enjoy sour flavors! Super friendly staff and great deals throughout the week. I had not been to this place. I went to San Jose, Ca for a personal matter, yelped a seafood place and this one popped up. Not disappointed at all! The place was full of people enjoying their dinner. It was packed, yet service was excellent and fast! My food was delicious! It was perfect! I enjoyed the pescado zarandeado! My spouse got the campechana! The agua mineral preparada was delicious! Such a cute Mexican restaurant with amazing service! They welcomed us with a complimentary cup of soup and tostadas, which was such a nice touch. I ordered the pulpo à la Diabla with added shrimp -- the octopus was cooked perfectly tender, and the shrimp was delicious. We also got the Aguachile, which was super fresh and really yummy. Everything was full of flavor and had a great kick of spice. We did try all three hot sauces on the table, so I'm pretty sure that made our dishes extra spicy--but we love spice! Overall the great customer service & the positive attitudes of every single employee made this place. The Mexican music was an added touch & added authenticity to the experience, it felt like we were in Mexico, which I enjoyed. Food wise -- the michelada and the shrimp on the michelada were so tasty so we had high expectations from the start, but unfortunately the food was missing seasoning. Ambiance: large outdoor area with plenty of seating. There was a mariachi band that played for a bit while we ate. Added to the feel of the place, but it was a bit loud and made it hard to hear each other. Service: restaurant seems to cater more to those who speak Spanish. Waitress spoke to us in Spanish upon first greeting us and it made it a bit hard to communicate. Busers were attentive and did a great job keeper our space clean. Food: LARGE portion sizes. We ordered two dishes and it was definitely enough to feed four. Food was tasty and if you need added spice they have 4 hot sauce bottles available at the table. I've been here a few times and haven't been dissatisfied so far. First, the food has always had a lot of flavor and have been very tasty. My very first time during my visit, I ordered the steak plate. It was very delicious. This time around, I wanted to try their shrimp. I went with the Camarones a la Crema, in all honesty. I wasn't a big fan only because it had no spice but it did have a lot of flavor. I do recommend this if you aren't a big fan of spicy things. My partner's Aguachile tricolor was tasteful and pretty spicy. Their margaritas were delicious as always. I've noticed they changed their Thursday special as well since my last visit. Overall, I strongly recommend this place. Their food is delicious, the drinks are satisfying and the customer service has always been top tier. 10/10 recommend and will definitely come back again. read more

Popular SJ restaurant for the locals! Great food and Mexican vibes with the Banda playing good music & street vendors coming in to sell jewelry, key chains, flowers and photos. And we bought all of them The Service was excellent! Sat down & consome & tostadas was offered right away with water. We ordered cocktails & more cocktail's they were delicious. Large Food portions so can be easily shared with a large group so don't over order but leftovers always taste better hung over the next day - lol. Only issue is limited parking. But that's any big city. Can't wait for next San Jose outing to go here again. read more
