I have been to Many Torrids, but this one is by far my favorite. The staff is wonderful, the store is HUGE. Like previously mentioned, the clearance rack is nice and big. Easy to find your size. Went looking for some Purple Shoes and something with an owl on it. Found both, plus some other great items. read more

09/23/2014 I was so happy to be able to go shopping today as I stepped into Torrid. The unique wear of voluptuous women, and the sister store to Hot Topic. If you have never been to a Hot Topic, just go into one.. they are super fun. I stepped into the undergarment section, because I came in questing for the hunt of some fishnets. Fishnets come in all designs and sizes this was more like a honeycomb design. I found my honeycombs and now time for me to glide through the store, I saw some items in the clearance section and lo and behold there was a pair of tights almost like a gunmetal gray. I looked at the size, a silly small smile started to perk up my face, and it was marked for only half-off. As I made my way to the counter, Star the cashier was the one who had helped me with this transaction. In a manner of a couple of moments she was able to update my information so I would be able to receive coupons and ads in the mail... which was convenient for me and considerate for her to do. She was showing a genuine interest in me and letting me know that my address on file was still an address from Michigan. Well my mom always sends my torrid ads, however by the time I receive them that are all expired. Needless to say, that those gunmetal gray tights, I bought were priced at a whopping .47 cents. What a great experience with torrid!!! I definitely give them 5 stars. read more

Thank goodness for this store. I absolutely love this store out of all the Torrid stores I have even been to (I've been to plenty) This place has the best staff working, they are extremely helpful and would bend over backwards for you. loves it. The clearance rack is HUGE and they have a very big selection of clothes so I almost always find what I am looking for. I am not to fond of their prices but I can't complain because I wouldn't have the fabulous group of clothes that I have lol. read more

Very friendly!! Easiest shopping experience I have ever had! LOVE LOVE LOVE TORRID!! Will be doing a LOT of my shopping at Torrid now!! My husband has been working 60-75 hr work weeks lately and his company's Xmas party is coming up. He has our only car. So going dress shopping has proved difficult. We didn't want to go to a million places to find a dress. Finding a dress for me has always been a little bit difficult but I have gained weight since the last Xmas party. One night we went to 2 shops and there wasn't really anything.. CUTE for my size.. and there wasn't anything in my size in other store. So I looked online for plus sized shops in San Diego.. And guess what popped up .. Torrid.. I instantly felt hopeful because I vaguely remember going in there years ago before I got married and having a positive shopping experience. I looked online to see what they offered and then felt sure I could find something there. It was also very close to home! We went last night and spent maybe.. 30 minutes shopping? Found my dress among the first 3 I tried on. I didn't have the money to buy shoes but I glanced over at them and they actually have my sized shoes and bigger!!! I have size 11 shoes.. Its darn near impossible to find a shoe I want in my size.. I always see shoes and clothes that I want and then find out that there isn't one in my size.. i won't run into that problem in Torrid! It was like a secret 'big girl club' The girl at the register today was terribly hands off and offered NO comments or advice about the many sales in the store... SMH...major bummer. LOVE this location of Torrid! Unfortunately, I moved out of state, so only get to this one occasionally. Was there last week, and the girl that helped me was super helpful, and suggested items that I had not thought of for an outfit I was looking to jazz up. This is my favorite location of all time! The staff is super friendly and their clearance options are always awesome. It is a little pricey but worth it; there are constant deals going on. If you wear anything over XL there are a ton of options, and not things that make you look like you're wearing plus sized clothes. If you spend over $50 (which isn't difficult) you get $25 to come back during their Haute cash period! As a diva style member you get an automatic 5% off once you qualify (again not hard to do). I just went in tonight to return some online stuff I purchased and Julian assisted me. He's wonderful! Hands down great customer service and very knowledgeable. I was making a purchase of dresses and he advised me clearance today was buy one get one for $5.00. I paid and was so impressed went back for two more items. I left very satisfied. I already warned him I may be back tomorrow. I love the new layout of the store. I've been a customer at this location forever. My favorite store hands down. It is always clean and staff is always friendly. The rewards program is awesome. I have a 10.00 rewards for my future purchase because I didn't want to use it tonight. I normally love shopping in the store but the last couple times I come in there are three employees that make me feel like I'm interrupting social time at a high school and make extremely uncomfortable if I wanted that kind of feeling I would go to a skinny store i used to love this store because they always made me feel like family greeted me and suggested things I may not have picked for me now not so much read more

So this happened yesterday 11/10/17 at Torrid at Mission Valley-San Diego: I am trying to exchange my jeans that I ordered online and manager says I will Let you exchange for anything in the store that equals $69 and give it to you for $29 the same price I paid for the jeans bc I had an awesome deal. She takes my online white shipping bag with receipt and jeans inside and places them behind the counter while I shop. I get my items and get to the register and the associate Rosalinda had put my whole bag/return in another lady's bag. I beleive that was her name. She was African American female maybe in her 40's or 50's. That lady has left by now but guess what my receipt with name, address, email and last 4 of my credit card is on the receipt being that it was an online purchase. I was still able to exchange and get my new items but now my info is in the hands of this lady. The associate Rosalinda showed no remorse and not even I am sorry from this lady. They called the lady bc she has an insider account like most women who shop there and no response. I am beyond mad. I want this associate fired. She screwed up several more times as we stood there. Then she didn't take the sensor of my friends shirt and we had to go back in there as if 1 hour with my mess up wasn't enough. The manager handled the situation as best she could. read more

I don't know what's going on but this particular store has gone down hill over the years. I went last night to take part in the Torrid Cash redemption and honestly I would have rather brought my items online and paid extra money to ship over night. No one greeted me when I walked into the store. No one offered to get me a fitting room. They were all too busy chit chatting. Don't get me wrong having conversation is fine but if you see a customer with lots of items in their arms then you should offer a fitting room. Luckily the fitting room was open so I went right in but even there, there was clothes everywhere including the floor. Also clothes on the floor in clearance. Then when I was ready to check out I had to find someone and ask to be checked out, then the lady Maseri asked if anyone helped me I said nope! It just sucks because over the years this is the closest Torrid to me and I ha e been shopping online because it has gone down hill. When Rosalinda was there that store was amazing. I absolutely adore torrid and usually shop at the El Cajon location which has always been a great experience. I thought I would check out the mission valley location and was very disappointed. I may have caught staff on a bad day but found them unfriendly and discussing past customers and felt rushed or like they didn't enjoy their jobs. The store did not have as good of a layout or variety and was dirty. There were holes in the changing room walls with trash stuffed in them and dirt all around the edge. I will never be coming to this location again and will be sticking with the El Cajon location where the service and atmosphere is always outstanding. If it ever closes I will solely be buying online . read more

After being a customer at this store for 15 years I'm extremely disappointed. They still call you sweetie and are very nice when you walk in, but whatever you do don't you dare come back to return something. Not only do they make you feel guilty, they try to talk you into exchanging and buying other stuff, and there's a lot of pressure to do so. If you don't, dirty looks and you know what their thinking. I'm sick of feeling this way. And by the way don't ever buy anything off the clearance rack, what they don't tell you is though that there's zero returns on clearance items. You have to look at the small print on the receipt to even know that. No warning, no caring. Get it together torrid I've been a customer and spent over $30,000 at your store over the last 15 years. Treat everybody with respect. And hire some people who don't give guilt trips and actually respect and care about their customers. read more

This store is now the best location they have. The manager Debbie is amazing, helpful and very sweet. Used to shop at Plaza Bonita, when the same manager was there, but I heard she moved, so I moved with her. TORRID should consider this manage to train all of the girls on their staff. read more

Usually the workers are helpful and friendly but I was here the other day and the manager was extremely rude and impatient. She had a horrible attitude and rolled her eyes when I asked questions about a promotion they had going on. I shop at torrid all the time and one in Mission Valley is by far the worst! I may not be on the very large size but you are still supposed to carry the size that I wear. Asking them for help when you're on the smaller size of their scale, was like being an outcast how Dare I. Will never shop at this location again. read more

Really bad customer service. I have been shopping with Torrid for over 14 years I have noticed there customer service is getting really bad. I bought a pair of sunglasses for my daughter along with other items they forgot to put them in the bag and when I called them they told me I forgot them on the counter.. The sales lady should of placed them in the bag along with the other items. I purchased a top another time they forgot to take the sensor off when I went back to the store to get it removed they treated me as if I was a criminal trying to shop lift also not to mention when I went shopping for spring clothes the sales lady ignored my request to start a fitting room she completely ignored me so I walked out of the store and shopped at Lane Bryant instead. These are just a few things to mention... I'm cancelling my credit card there are lot's of other stores who are willing to take my money and are most likely able to give me better customer service. I used to love this store and be a frequent shopper - at this location, the one in Glendale, AZ; Lake Forest, IL; and online a lot. I spent several thousand last year alone. Unfortunately, while the stores has great customer service, the online support is terrible and ruins the overall brand's customer experience. Delays in replies and incomplete replies that show the rep not reading through the string of support correspondence (and only the latest email in the thread) are just 2 symptoms of a bigger problem. Torrid doesn't know what their customer experience is; they don't realize how their support feels to customers; they don't know what moments matter (moments of truth); and they don't seem to prioritize building connections with their customers. As a result, they lose customers who had been advocates for their brand and now have swung to the other side - advocating against their brand. read more
