We hadn't been to Torchy's in awhile, but my friend craved some of their green chile queso so it was time for a visit. When you enter, a line leads to a counter where you place your order... then you're given a tracker so the server can locate your table. You fill your (non-alcoholic) drink cup at the station that follows the counter, then find your table and await delivery. We looked at menus placed in a bin just before the ordering counter, then my friend spotted a new offering that includes the queso: nachos. We each ordered them and got our trackers. The guy taking orders was very friendly and helpful. The dining area was clean and tables were well spaced out. The decor was fun, as with all Torchy's locations I've visited. While the nachos were delivered quickly and looked nice, the amount of food seemed pretty sparse for the price (about $12). We could have added a protein, for an additional charge of course. Our server came by a second time with small containers of guacamole, after realizing they'd been left off our orders. The nachos got pretty soggy from the pico de gallo long before we finished eating. Not great. Lesson learned: if you have a craving for green chile queso, get the container of queso, which comes with guac atop and a side of chips. Your chips will stay crisp and you'll save yourself about $4... which can be applied toward a great taco. read more

Food is ok Have been 4x - first 2 good 3rd - couldn't get food as kitchen closed 20mins before closing 4th - was mischarged but instead of refunding amount back they had to ring up another transaction for the lesser amount. Charged $65 for 3 tacos. Our first visit here and loved it. The staff member assisting us at the counter was very helpful and patient with us. We sat inside, which was nice. We checked out the outdoor area when leaving, and would love to try that next time or sitting at the bar. We had a house rocks margarita & the sucker punch. Both great. We shared a 1/2 queso with chips, which was really tasty. I has the Tipsy Chick taco , which was amazing. When I topped with the bacon jam, it was heaven. Torchy's is always a delight and a no-brainer when I need a good taco fix. Staff member who took our order was so patient. She answered all the questions my friends, who follow vegan diet, had and ensured their order was customized to their needs. Food came to our table quickly, accurately and was delicious. Tacos and queso were 5/5 while street corn was 3.5/5 (solely coz they could have easily added a little more of sauce and cheese to it, to create a good balance. I usually never had this complaint before though.) This location has good sized parking lot. I didn't notice patio seating. The area around could use some bright lighting around. Celebrated a loan forgiveness letter here at my neighborhood Torchy's Tacos the other day. I ordered their taco of the month, one with salmon. This taco was a delightful combination of fresh and vibrant flavors. The soft corn tortilla had a great texture, and the pickled onions added a nice tang, easily my favorite part of the toppings. The salmon was well-seasoned and paired perfectly with the creamy avocado slice. A well-balanced and satisfying taco! I loved this location. We walked in on our way to a UT McCombs event. The people were super friendly. We ordered the Baja shrimp taco and Tipsy Chick. The Baja Shrimp was fantastic. I have eaten and loved Torchy's since the beginning. And this the first time I have complained but t just got the worst tacos here that I've ever had. I ate one and threw the rest away. They were horrible. The brisket was like Jersey left out on the counter for a couple of weeks and the potato's were the same. This place is a 5/5 if you go corn tortillas around the board with your tacos. Don't even bother with the bowl or flour in my opinion. They make the corn tortillas in house and they might be the best I've had in the states. They load the meat, and theres so much tenderness and flavor. Steak fajita and the diplomat hit the spot. The fried avocado bowl was okay, but not gonna knock em down to a 4 with that cause I'm sure it woulda been bomb in a corn tortilla. I like a good Arnold palmer with my lunch and they had 4 fresh lemonades on tap so that was a huge plus. Food came out incredibly quick too for our party of 8, and it was pretty busy during lunch. At this place you order and pay at the cashier when you arrive. Queso dip was delicious, came with a huge pile of chips, and perfect for table sharing. They also have some great happy hour prices. Torchies always comes in strong when I'm having a craving for a good fried avocado! I've been coming here for years and I absolutely love their fried avocado & I highly recommend you requesting a fried avocado substitution in the brush fire if you haven't tried that before. Normally the brush fire comes with chicken but being vegetarian this is a great option you should check out. I also highly recommend the queso, it is velvety smooth! The spoon of guac in it adds a lot to the queso. Service was really fast! The tacos were brought up to us within 5-10 mins of ordering! Flavor did not disappoint. If you love spicy food definitely ask for the Diablo sauce on the side! It's very good. The place is normally busy so expect slight delays in food during peak hours! We are big Torchy's fans and this was our first time trying this location. The one closest to where we live usually leaves us disappointed and the design makes it feel like a strip mall (which it is but that is besides the point). This Torchy's is big with lots of seating and even a large patio. Our food was great. I nearly always get the Baja shrimp and then try something new with my second taco. We also got the queso (hillbilly style is the best). Also a good place to bring kids. There were multiple families there and plenty of high chairs. read more

Since this company seems to be successful despite very fundamental customer service flaws let me help education them (and you) on what to expect: 1). When you fall short of your customer service accuracy - don't blame your business partners. Own it. Don't finger point at who you choose who to do business with and then drag your customer into a negative experience and wash your hands of the matter. 2). I hardly think I'm the first person who has had items missing from a delivery. So it's frustrating to be told that I have to deal with DoorDash for a refund when the Torchy's website is the sole tool I used to place my order. Ironically I was told by DoorDash that they couldn't refund my money because I sent my money to you and therefore I needed to contact you. See any problem here? Our birthday dinner was ruined while I tried to resolve the situation. After calling the I-35/Round Rock store twice I was told I could come drive to it to get my missing items which I found less than reasonable since by the time I could get there (after dealing with this for 25 minutes) the store would be closed. At this point I'm left holding the bag on a negative experience created by you. There will not be any more Torchy's or DoorDash in my future. And to think I paid for this! I came in with my wife, we sat down at the bar. Although it was our first visit here at Torchy's, the bartender walks over and says, "Welcome back! What can I get you to drink?" My wife looks at me all puzzled-like and questions, "Who else have you been in here with?!" The answer is no one. I honestly have no idea why the bartender said that. Now my wife thinks I've been here without her, and with some other woman that looks like her! Great. This place IS THE DEVIL! Actually, this is the third restaurant I've been to in this exact same building. The other two restaurant's both went out of business shortly after they opened. Both of those places were mediocre at best. However, I think Torchy's Tacos might have some staying power, but who knows, right? They didn't have to-go boxes when we asked for them. That's not a good sign. I guess only time will tell if this Torchy's sticks around here or not. If they do, I'll probably be back.
