Don't let the name fool you--El Rinconcito might not be in a corner, but it is a hidden gem. This spot serves up delicious, traditional food that tastes like it was made by family. It has that home-cooked feel, like your tía or mami is in the kitchen making something special just for you. It's a small, simple place where you order at the counter, take a seat, and your food is brought out to you. The vibe is casual and welcoming--definitely gives "starter restaurant" energy in the best way. I'm excited to see them grow and offer even more in the future, but honestly, it already feels like home. Bring your appetite--the food is that good.

Just made terribly tasting "chorizo" and egg taco.

Oh man.... The chorizo and egg were awful. I've NEVER tasted a such an odd but gross chorizo before. I can't even describe it. The agua Fresca lemonade was watered down and sour. As if it was old from the day before and no sugar added. I wasted the entirety of my money before I couldn't eat anything I ordered. Never again.

Cute little place tucked away in Round Rock. I was craving a breakfast burrito, and wanted to try someplace new. Yelp steered me towards El Rinconcito. Plenty of parking, and easy access. I ordered a sausage, egg, cheese & potato breakfast burrito made to order. It was big and stuffed full of ingredients! I also ordered an Al pastor taco. It was ok, but not outstanding. The burrito was hot & cheesy, with big flavor in every bite! The service was efficient, and I was in and out in a few minutes. I'd like to go back and dine inside sometime!

This place has changed owners and looks dingy and not that great. The young girl working there acted like she didn't even want to be there.

El Rinconcito is one of those restaurants on Mays Street in Round Rock that you may drive by every day and not even notice it. It looks like someone converted a small house into a small restaurant. Parking is limited, more parking in the rear (back yard). Once inside you see that it's a quaint little spot that's very popular with the locals. When you arrive, you step right up to the order window. Be sure to let them know if you're dinning in. El Rinconcito offer a variety of Mexican breakfast and lunch choices that take you back to memories or dinning in Small Mexico City eateries. The Food is very authentic and the taste is amazing. I had the Chorizo and Egg Breakfast with refried beans, white cheese sprinkled on top. I was craving potatoes for some reason so I asked if they could blend in potatoes with the meal. No problem. They serve the most delicious coffee in this cute little mug. It has a hint of cinnamon. I love it. My wife has tasted the Carne Asada Torta (Mexican Steak sandwich, but so much more). She was quite pleased with the flavor. I can't wait to try their burritos and the "Torta Cubans. You'll just have to come in to see what this is all about. Service is excellent. This location is fairly small so service is personal. The servers are always smiling and vert friendly. They are very accommodating and will build your meal to your liking. The Salas is very good, but watch out for the red one. Took my breath away. All and all I Visit this place whenever I can. I just wish they stayed open longer. Michael Cummings-Georgetown, TX.

This is my new spot! Definitely a hole in the wall that is more than worth it. I came here for a solo bday breakfast and I'm so glad I did. I got a BPEC breakfast taco and the huevos rancheros. DELICIOUS! Homemade tortillas, great salsa, great quality food. I'll definitely be back to try more lunch/dinner options. The waitress is very nice as wellZ

Today I came to this establishment for the first time and got the lunch special to-go. Today the special was flautas with beans and rice. The four flautas were fresh and crisp an topped with sour cream. The rice for the dish was hard as if it had been left out or prepared ahead of the flautas. I would order this dish again but would most definitely check the side dishes prior to leaving with my order.

Update after eating here 9/16/18 and 12/8/18: The food isn't as good. I didn't change my review the last time because I thought it was a fluke but it's not. Their barbacoa is not tender anymore. The food is fine and tasty but it's not exceptional any more to us. I feel sad because this was my favorite place for breakfast The service is always friendly.

    Breakfast tacos!

Our server couldn't have been more friendly and outgoing. She was swamped (it was prom night with lots of formally clad students dining in) but never broke a sweat, never made us feel rushed or unattended and had a big smile from ear to ear throughout. I can't remember her name but I believe she is one of the owners daughters - and she's a real asset to the restaurant. My husband had a combination platter with all the favorites - enchiladas, taco, and a tamale, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I opted for something that was a little less---well, you know----but when in Rome---don't eat the spinach and mushrooms----get the tacos, savor the enchiladas. They know what they're doing and next visit I will lean into their expertise, enhanced by another Mexican martini. Buen provecho!

It's a little overpriced for what it is but it gets the job done. FAST FACTS: * Parking - lot out from of the building with plenty of spots * Happy Hour - couldn't find updated days and hours but they do have HH specials * Lunch specials from 11 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday SERVICE - We arrived around 6:30 pm on a Monday and they weren't busy at all (although it was Cinco de Mayo and they got busier as the night went on). We were seated right away and had complimentary chips and salsa brought to the table immediately (they're very mediocre). Our server, Fatima, made sure we had refills throughout the meal and the food came out quickly. PRICING - The total was $65.45 after tax ($4.99) but before tip for a Burros queso ($10.49), shredded chicken quesadilla ($14.99), Javier's plate ($17.49), and carne asada ($17.49). For basic Tex Mex, it seemed a little overpriced but the portion sizes are good. BURROS QUESO (6/10) - This is a basic chili con queso... it's topped with ground beef, guacamole, and pico but not much. I don't think I'd order this again because it isn't worth it for the price... I'd rather just order a small chili con queso. SHREDDED CHICKEN QUESADILLA (6/10) - It's a pretty standard chicken quesadilla served with shredded lettuce, pico, sour cream, and guacamole. You do get plenty of shredded chicken inside! This is great to split as an appetizer or get as an entree. I'd order this again. JAVIER'S PLATE (6/10) - It's a good portion size but nothing special. The grilled skirt steak had a nice flavor but is kinda hard to cut up and eat. You get rice, beans, and a small tortilla cup with lettuce, pico, and guacamole. I probably wouldn't order this again because I'd rather try other things. CARNE ASADA (6/10) - Again, it's a good portion size but nothing special. The grilled chicken breast is the same price as the diced skirt steak which doesn't quite make sense to me but you get a decent amount of sautéed onion, tomatoes, serano peppers, mushrooms, and zucchini. Again, you get rice, beans, and a small tortilla cup with lettuce, pico, and guacamole. I'd order this again if I want to get in some veggies with my meal. This was my first visit to Burros Tex Mex Bar and Grill and I probably won't rush to come back because there are other Tex Mex restaurants nearby that I prefer. It wasn't bad by any means, it just doesn't stand out (especially for the price). But, in a pinch, I'd stop by again if I was nearby and in the mood for Tex Mex.

I looked at the menu and it was very Texmex, so much so that I didn't feel any guilt whatsoever in ordering hard shell tacos. Since we already got the chips we decided to get their queso as well. The food basically all arrived at the same time and the queso was served in a small soup cup-TONs of their queso and since it was family, double dipping the queso into the salsa was not judged; pretty decent. My tacos were good-the lettuce, tomatoes and cheese were just kind of tossed on top and not in but I guess that's what I get for ordering hard shell tacos. I know it seems like a small thing, but serving food that requires a knife and fork with a flimsy plastic utensil was kind of laughable and made eating my green chili enchiladas a little more challenging than it needed to be. You likely are in this section for a Tequila tasting or drink with conversation. The back room was more like a concert-like area with an open ceiling. You literally could see the stars from this section of the restaurant. I listened to some rhythm and blues and find the band to be smooth and sexy. However, my friends were in the last section, where a DJ was spinning Latin tunes. While it was fun to see my friends, it was totally slow boogie. The songs lasted too long, and we only heard a few songs that were familiar. I ordered a frozen Margarita, but they were out of Margarita. I have never been to a Mexican food restaurant that did not serve Margaritas. So, I then ordered some guacamole and chips, which I shared with my friends.
