    What a difference jn Price.

When you ask 3 dozen of " home made tortillas" I get it support local restaurants but when you charge 7.29 for a Dozen of Tortillas, Rosas cafes has them for half of that!!! No way no way never again don Mario. Place was empty now I know why.

Chille Rellenos.. This was not with Ceso Asadero but something else. Not so tasty..

So we tried this place and let's just say... Environment is very friendly Staff is rock solid Coffee ok Corn tortillas were rock on Flour tortillas were ok. Chiles Rellenos are poor and if you are looking at Mexican Interior then this is not your plate. Beef fajias were season just right and very tasty.

Mario's is located in the quaint and super cute downtown Hutto. It's such a beautiful little town. I love that there is good parking , because no matter how small any downtown is, parking is usually a pain. Upon walking In, we were greeted by Valeria, our waitress, she was very friendly and we were seated really quick. Party of 7. The place had customers it was not empty. We were quickly given chips and salsa by the other waitress there. Their salsa is so good! The salsa was spicy but not too spicy. Great perfect spiciness and flavor. We all placed our drink orders. I asked for coffee. I desperately needed it! Then the owner came over and introduced himself. Such a sweet guy, very friendly. Stood there and talked to us, told us a little history about the restaurant. We all ordered different things, our way of trying different items on the menu! Absolutely everything was spot on! My absolute fave though? The beans! Man, they tasted like my grandmas. We also ordered some flour tortillas because man! They're addicting! Deff worth the price T We couldn't leave without ordering dessert , we had the sopapillas & I've personally only tried them with powdered sugar but I like their version better. Upon leaving , the owner walked us out and we stood outside and chatted for a little bit. I absolutely loved everything about this place. The staff went above and beyond. I love the personal touches by the owner. I can't wait to go back

I ordered the Huevo's Ala Mexicana

The decor is great, a GLAM hallway to the bathrooms. Enjoyed my food and others in my group liked the food too. One thing they need to improve is the service. We had a very nice server, but it seemed like her and one other server were doing all the work while 4 or 5 other employees wandered around or lounged at the hostess desk. We did have a large group, but the food all came out at wildly different times. One person in our group waited 20 minutes AFTER the first person was served, for his entree to arrive. I'd understand more if they were just short staffed, but with that many people working, they should find a way to help each other and make the customer experience better. Trying to pay our split checks was another hurdle. Our server got pulled away after a couple of us paid, and when I went to the hostess stand - where two employees were standing, to request the rest of our bills - they acted like it was impossible for them to assist and decided to try and grab our very busy server! If management can sort out better delegation of duties and ways for everyone to pull together, this place will be awesome!

The service was good as the wait staff were quick and attentive. The drinks were nothing special. The house margarita was sweet and your typical mix. I also had the flaca which was terrible. They tried to tell me it was just lacking sweetness but it tasted like straight up alcohol. I am used to a skinny margarita but this one was undrinkable to me. They did take it off our bill bc I let them know. The food too was okay too. Again, not bad but not great. We just had appetizers on this visit.

I was hoping for the traditional brown gravy, but this dish came with a spicy red version instead. (Reason for 4 stars) The meat was tender, the tortillas were fresh, and the sauce was hot and flavorful, just not quite the brown gravy I grew up loving as a San Antonio girl. Our waitress was wonderful: friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. She switched easily between Spanish and English, which made our whole table feel comfortable since one person in our group is bilingual. The seasoned potatoes were spot on: crispy, tender, and well seasoned. The refried beans were classic and delicious. Portion sizes were generous for the price, and the restaurant itself was clean with plenty of space for our group of four. Overall, Julio's was a great stop after the race. It might just become our go-to spot for future Hippo Runs. If you're local or have visitors in town, definitely add Julio's to your list.

My buddy and coworker recommended we go to Pollos Asados El Norteño off South FM 1660 in Hutto. Good idea. Located in a strip mall connected to a Valero gas station, there were a few people inside. We placed our order, with me ordering their Caldo de Pollo. It included two chicken drumsticks, potatoes, cobbled corn, carrots, celery, and squash. It was served with a lime slice and diced cilantro, onions, and green peppers. In addition, you get a ton of corn tortillas on the side and a nice side of rice. For its price tag, it is a steal. It was fantastic and perfectly hit the spot when it was 30 degrees outside. There is plenty of seating, and they move pretty efficiently. I heard their main tacos as well as their breakfast were very good, so once I can eat normal food, I will definitely come back and give it another go. For now, that soup was exactly what I needed. Food isn't waiting around here....it was a small wait but everything was extraordinarily fresh. They have a cold case full of soft drinks and juices. There was a small container of orange/red sauce and what looks like a avocado Ish sauce. I labeled them both hot and hotter. (LOL-I guess I'm a gringo after all ) I dropped in, in between meal times, but there was definitely a steady amount of customers coming and going as they must do quite a brisk business of takeout also. I noted that you can order online so that's always a big positive for me. People were eating and it's not a huge place so I wasn't comfortable videoing the seating ....needless to say there's about 10 /four tops. I was quite comfortable. You step up to the counter to order. I requested no cilantro and I did not get any. It seems to be good communication between the front desk and the kitchen. I suspect either the sous chef or the cook delivered my plate piping hot to my table! I'm not sure how long this location has been open here, but I'm embarrassed to say that I have driven by many many times on the way to my sons home and not noticed it. I'm so glad I dropped in today and found it. I definitely recommend it and I will be back every time I head out to my sons
