Haven't been to chuys in many months due to the food just not being good. Needed something quick on my way home, so I decided to try them out again today Togo. I called in my order, the girl taking it was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. I got the appetizer plate since it had a little of everything. It was just... not good. Not gross or anything, just bleh. At some point I genuinely felt like I was eating powder. It was all mush/dry and there were no distinct flavors. The panchos were borderline burnt, flautas were just sad, quesadillas were more dry tortilla than anything. Not impressed. The ranch salsa was delicious as always however! It's Chuy's. It's consistent but it's not like it used to be when I worked there back in the late 2000's. I miss the unique specials, the green chili fest, the macho burrito, the uniqueness of each store. It's kinda just become plain and sterile. But it's hard to hate something so consistently good and then wait staff is always so solid. I like this location but like most Chuy's the wait area isn't nearly big enough. Really good first visit to this new Chuy's location. The design is updated from the original concept. It is colorful with easy in and out parking. This review is based off of a complimentary friends and family dining experience. I will for sure update my review after this weekend when they have their official opening . But yayayayayaay Chuy's close to home is exactly what we needed. The 35 location is always such a zoo to get to and to eat at so this Hutto location is a dream. First off the restaurant is on the smaller side when compared to the other locations we have visited. I'm not sure if this is due to the population of hutto or due to it now being a corporate franchise now. But everything was super nice and still had the old school Chuy's vibe. Even the chairs and booths are the same as the other Chuy's we frequent. As for the food it tasted just like the other locations. I was so happy to get my creamy jalepeno fix today. I had the tortilla soup and while I loathe cilantro the soup was outstanding. I love salty soup so this hit the spot. I could have gone for a little more sliced avocado but the amount of chicken was more than fair for a bowl and what they will charge on the menu. We didn't order any alcoholic beverages but our teas stayed full which was great. Our service was super friendly, all the employees seemed just as excited about the opening as her which was nice. Made us feel extra welcome and not like free loader looking loos. Overall the food, service and ambiance for a franchise 4 out of 4 stars. We will for sure be back at least once every two weeks from here on out. read more

There Queso for us is top 3 best in ATX...Most spots we hit were scooping Salsa to add some flavor...Chips were warm...Creamy Jalapeno always hit right...Wife sticks to her usual with Beef Enchiladas, double Green Chile Rice....I enjoy when they roll out there specials and I will say the Boom Boom Pork enchiladas are the Bomb....Pork was super tender and went great with the Boom Boom Sauce. I've always been a big Chuy's fan so I was excited when I saw this location that was even closer to me. It's definitely smaller than most of their other locations and it can get very crowded and very loud quickly. If you're wanting to skip a long wait time, I'd suggest checking in online first. That helped cut down our wait time considerably. Our waiter was great. He was very attentive to our needs like more drink or chip refills and the food came out in a timely manner. However, I would reconsider if you are ordering pickup from this location. Their timing is extremely inaccurate and we had to wait nearly 45 minutes for food we ordered 30 minutes ago. It would've been easier to just dine in at that point. Parking is also a bit of a hassle and you may have to circle around a few times before snagging a spot. Food is still great, just the ambiance inside and the pickup service could use more attention. read more

We were told a one hour wait but I thought it was overly optimistic. However, only 45 minutes later they had a table for us! The service was prompt and very professional. Chuy's Hutto is a nice addition to the area, it's roomy inside and has tented outdoor seating as well. Due to it's recent opening, the wait times have been about 30 min - 1 hour, but once sat - service is pretty fast. The food is typical of any other Chuy's, the chips and jalapeno ranch are probably my favorite part of the meal. One star is too much...first, are here on a Sunday evening, so it isn't full. My husband asked for a patio table. The manager ASKED a server if she was willing to take an outside table, and she said no, no so we had to take an inside table (4 other tables are occupied on the patio as I write this). Fast forward to drinks-got a margarita with salted rim,despite asking for no salt. Also, 6 people in our party ate evidently expected to share the ONE straw we were given with our 6 drinks. Then the food....OY!! My brother in law asked for a chicken chimichanga (because they don't DO ground beef). They also only evidently have refried beans. He got it and it only had rice inside. My son's seasoned beef burrito was bean and cheese. My cheese enchiladas had obviously sat under a heat lamp because they were presented with a crusty skin over them. The enchiladas and chimichanga went back. The manager is wearing flip flops (isn't that a heath code issue?) and running around bussing tables, not paying attention to a damn thing happening in the restaurant. She needs to be TRAINING her staff. Then our waiter carried a sizzling hot fajita plate less than 3 inches over the heads of 2 people at the table behind us, my sister and her husband, and 3 people on the other side. Not impressed anymore. The quality of Chuy's has slowly gone down over the years. I ordered take out from Hutto, When I opened the bag and saw the mini $10 container of queso i was shocked. They no longer list the size on the menu so you don't know you're getting an 8oz container of it. For that much it should be 16 oz. I get 16 oz from a place done the road for less and it was better. Don't get me started on the $5 beef taco. Tiny tortilla, scraps of beef, and some lettuce. First off we love Chuy's we've been to several locations in Round Rock and Austin. Now we have one right around the corner from us in Hutto. We've been to the Hutto location a few times now. But tonight my family of five went to the Hutto location looking for another great night of food. We arrived at the restaurant around 5:15pm wait took about 30mins. We ordered our food around 5:45. As time went bye and multiple refills of waters and chips the waitress said the food would be out shortly this was 6:30. At 6:50 over an hour after ordering our food, we decided to walk out. My 10yr old who doesn't eat chips and salsa was starving by this time. This is the first time I've EVER walked out of a restaurant without getting my food. Very disappointed to say the least. Like I said this was a first for us. Hopefully the Hutto location can get it right. The restaurant itself is very small compared to the other locations we've been to and not much room to wait for your table. Most people wait in their cars. read more

It's been busy since the day they opened, we thought going in the middle of the week would be easier to get in. The service was good, and I have to hand it to all these new people in there trying their best to stay up with the crowd. We had a couple of drinks since we got there at the tail end of HH. Good deal for beers and we need to come back to try their queso. I had the Cobb salad, it was amazingly fresh and delicious. I had the creamy jalapeño dressing. I'll be back for that again and again. My wife had a combo plate that was a lot more than she could eat, she enjoyed a little of everything and it looked pretty dang good. I really want to like Chuy's but thier pick-up leaves a lot to be desired. I consistently wait 30 - 45 minutes AFTER my scheduled pick-up time and check in before my food comes out. The few times I have walked up to ask if there was an issue I am told my food is ready, they are just waiting on my bar drinks. 40 minutes for 2 bar drinks? And I have no doubt that means my food was sitting for that 30+ minutes, getting cold and soggy. I will say the boom boom sauce and Jalapeño ranch hit the spot each time so there's that. But my margarita was very sour since she took the drink out of my hand to take it to the bartender, when she came back with it, I'm not sure if she was the messenger or bartender or she actually told me if I want an orange juice with my margarita if I think still sour because that is their recipe at Chuy's.
