My husband and I split the Caldwell Special (essentially a fajita platter with beef, chicken, and shrimp, over peppers and onions). It was pretty good -- the beef was tender and the shrimp was fat and succulent. Chicken was a bit on the tough side but that's the least important one for getting the texture right. Ultimately, a good dish but a bit pricy (44.99 for two). It wasn't a huge amount of food -- just enough for two people (and we got tortillas and made a couple fajitas too). If you want the mildest Mexican food ever this is your spot. Their hot salsa is so mild and infant could eat it. Even their torreados (grilled jalapeños) have no heat..... This place seriously needs to get something spicy. Their "hotter" salsa looks the same As the regular salsa and almost tastes the same. Seriously needs to be 25x hotter for the love of god! Went to Mas Fajitas on a Thursday night and had a great experience. Relaxed atmosphere with a mix of tables and booths. The service was friendly, attentive, and impressively fast without ever feeling rushed. The food was packed with flavor and came out hot with generous portions. The shrimp cocktail was exceptionally delicious, fresh, well-seasoned, and one of the best I've had. The beef fajitas were another standout; tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Georgetown~ For having such horrible reviews, this place was packed and the food was pretty darn yummy! There were five of us for dinner this evening. We were seated quickly and served right away. All of us had something different for our entrées. Some of us had Carnitas, some of us had enchiladas, some of us had a stuffed avocado, some of us had tacos, BUT all of us decided that our entrées were delicious! Had a chance to visit the "MAs" as it is one of my wife's local favorites. She really loves the Cheese Enchiladas lunch plate. I like the Carne Guisada lunch or platter. The service is exceptional. From the host that seats you, to the server taking our order, to the runner that brings your food. The food is always fresh, hot and full of flavor. The menu has a nice variety of creative Tex-Mex selections. Our server today was Lizette or maybe Lizeth. She was so helpful in helping us choose items and so funny. Always checked in on us and helped us pack our things to go. She went above and beyond. MasFajitas is a Georgetown favorite. I visited this restaurant for the first time today. My husband and I went for lunch. The decor is extremely casual. They have six TVs all showing something different. This is great for somebody who wants to watch basketball and soccer and football all at the same time. The service was good. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. The prices are reasonable. They have a happy hour menu with ground beef or chicken tacos for $.99 on Tuesday. However, their tacos don't have much flavor so I'm not interested in taco Tuesday. I ordered off of the lunch menu and I had a combo which is one enchilada and one taco with rice and beans and it was $12. My husband had steak tacos, rice, and beans and he said that the steak was way overcooked. It looked overcooked. He did not enjoy it. The food was just OK. My brother n law and i ordererd the chicken fajitas. After eating chips and a very very salty salsa our food arrived, to my surprise it didn't look or even sizzle like im uses to seeing a fajita. Was served on a plate not a cast iron skillit . Six strips of plain unseasoned chicken over a large amount of grilled onions, no peppers or mushrooms. So when i told the waitress she said the cook had to make some peppers. So when we finally got the peppers it was on one plate and there weren't very many that we had to share! Their red salsa is mildly spicy, but quite good and the chips are thin and crispy. We got here at 3 o'clock in the afternoon and discovered the lunch menu goes til 4pm. I'm typing this as I leave! I did not get the servers name however this was on taco Tuesday. It is a female server. I understand that on Tuesdays it is especially busy within the restaurant, but that is no excuse for the type of service we received today.. I saw our waitress a total of 5 times. 3 of which were out of necessity one to greet us and to get our drinks. The second time was to give us our drinks and to receive our food orders. The third time was to get our check, i.e. the bill. The two other times was when we had to physically call her down so we could get something for the table. Each time it took about 10 minutes just to even see her come out of the back area. I occur one time when she was over at the stand near where they put in the orders physically and she was on her phone. This is not insult to the managers or other staff. Besides this one server. The food is always amazing and it was amazing this time. It's just the amount that it took for her to even get anything for us other than the initial order for drink drinks. As we looked around, I could see other tables of hers waiting as well. Around this time when we were in the last 30 minutes of service, the waiting area to get a table was empty. We were there for an over an hour to eat some tacos. And there were only three of us and each was a small order. Management, please get with your servers and remind them to check up on their guest! Takeaway: I-LOVED-IT. I used to think I couldn't eat Mexican food... But, I-LOVED-IT! Today we ordered birria beef quesadillas! The meat was so tender and flavorful, but not spicy. Because we had a late start to the day, we arrived at 1230 on this Sunday, the restaurant was packed, so we saddled up to the bar. Took about four minutes to be noticed because the bar was mostly empty, but that was ok -- we did seat ourselves in the dark corner. The beans we inquired a boat were full of meat and we're vegetarian. Most dishes for us and others at our table had sat under a warmer of some kind so they could be served to the group in proximity. Cheese was almost liquified vs just melted. The pinto beans looked like canned baked beans out of the can but without the tomato sauce. Hard and not really hot. Not really understanding the good reviews of this place. Our first time here last night and it was just terrible. Server was brash, especially when asked about a food allergy question before we ordered. That should have been our first clue how this was going to go. He then got our drinks wrong (asked for 3 waters with no ice and got them with ice - said it more than once, but still came with ice), and almost got our kids order wrong when he repeated it before he left. Good thing he repeated it. Then when food arrived, it was brought out by another person, and we were missing my husband's meal. The person that brought the food also said he'd get us an extra plate for the fajitas. He never brought it. Took our server a while to come check on us, so my husband sat there without a meal for a good bit. In that time, we found a piece of fabric in my daughter's quesadilla when she took a bite. Server finally came by and we told him about the missing meal and the piece of fabric. He didn't apologize about either thing at all, and tried to say that the fabric was cheese. He offered to have the quesadilla remade and tried taking my 2 year old's plate away while they remade it, but I asked to keep it bc she is 2 and would throw a fit if she didn't have at least something to eat (the rice and beans). My husband's plate finally came. Manager came by to apologize about the fabric but nothing else. Then after a full 20 mins or more, we had to flag our server down to ask where the replacement quesadilla was. Again, no apology. No money off the bill. On top of all this, the food was just not good. We got the chicken fajitas, crispy tacos, and kids quesadillas. So again, not sure why there are such great reviews of this place. Definitely fits the bill for a great Mexican food place. They came to College Station where my parents live and they tell me all the time how crowded it is there! So I wanted to try it.
