    Dried sugar oranges...delish!
    Ruth S.

01/13/2024 Island Celcuterie catered to my friends birthday party in Vegas! WOW, the grazing table was beautiful. From one end to another end, the table was filled with different types of cheeses, deli meats, fruits and vegetables, bread, crackers , nuts, jams, and dips. It also had those dried sugar oranges that complimented my taste buds after eating. Also, eat it and drink it with wine...what a perfect pairing. Everything was deliciously refreshing. I was able to meet the owner from Texas. She was very kind and friendly and professional in what she does. Everyone in the party really enjoyed the grazing table and were able to take home some charcuterie to share with family. I think this is the next best and big thing in parties. Less mess, no big pans or pots to worry about. Easy cleaning. Love this. Check out her website. Happy happy charcuterie! Thank you for an awesome charcuterie feast!! Happy eats!

Wonderful spread of food for our Baylor Graduation party today! So easy to work with.

Wonderful food, super nice owner. Easy to work with. She even did the green and gold decorations for Baylor Graduation.

Leslie is awesome--that's obvious from the get-go! She is proactive, full of energy, and very…read morepositive! She guided us in our menu selection and style of catering, and in the end put together a fabulous spread for our wedding! We had wanted to stay away from the typical meals you find at weddings, and gravitated toward comfort food incorporated with upscale dining. After speaking to her about the types of restaurants and foods we like, she set up a tasting for us and our parents with what we had come up with. She hit the nail on the head with every morsel! There was a selection of appetizers, main dishes and sides to choose from, as well as a refreshing non-alcoholic watermelon juice drink. Everything was phenomenal! We ended up choosing a tuna tartare, open-faced duck taco, and goat cheese tartlet for our cocktail reception appetizers--all super yummy! We also had a mac and cheese station, with truffles as an option to add, which we thoroughly enjoyed! There were also two specialty drinks we came up with last minute (one "girl" drink--a white wine peach sangria, and one "boy" drink--a vodka martini infused with jalapeño and cucumber)--those went fast! The sit-down reception started off with a salad consisting of butter lettuce, blue cheese, candied walnuts and green apple with a lemon basil vinaigrette--sooooo good. We decided to do family style dining for our guests to choose whichever dishes they like and the amount they wanted. For the main dishes, there was an amazing beef tenderloin (really on par with some great steakhouses) with French compound butter & crispy fried onions and a succulent halibut with Italian salsa verde, quinoa and sautéed kale. The sides were potatoes au gratin, which was creamy and rich, and sautéed garlic spinach. Everyone couldn't stop talking about how extraordinary all the food was! Leslie also helped us with our linen selection, which included all the dishware and glassware as well as any extras like custom tables. She really knew the style we were going for, so it made for a quick and easy appointment. I didn't have to worry about dealing with that particular vendor at all--she did all the work for me! Only thing I didn't like was that the vendor didn't provide the same salad plates (they were gold-plated) to match all the silver-plated dinner plates. Other than that, Leslie also dealt with the entire alcohol and bartender situation at my venue, which was confusing to me--that was much appreciated! Overall, I'm super satisfied with how everything turned out, and beyond impressed with the high level of restaurant-quality food that was provided! I would love to go back just to do another tasting cuz it was that good!

The taste of this meat concoction makes Ronald McDonald, Wendy & The King shrink back into a hole so deep you'll ask, what's that? Dare I say it? .... even Whataburger will bow down to this one. This isn't an average patty. This is absolute max on taste, texture, & thoughtful composition. Nothing over the top or overdone. Simple & really, just masterfully put together & toting that perfect smoked flavor. That nice bun holds it all stacked without slipping for the just-right & complete bite. Combos are simple with chips & canned soda. Plenty of room to sit inside the cool A/C out of the wind & heat. That's all you need really because this burger is THE SHOW the tongue & your hunger is dying to get. This ain't fast food & you're going to tell everyone you know, guaranteed. GO get you one, FRIDAYS only at the moment. But one day Pustka Family, this is going to be your daily banger!! I know they put out the 'cue but everyone around me that got something other than this burger was honestly jealous. That sausage y'all ..... there's a reason this joint made the honorable mention Top Texas 100 BBQ (the top 50 is coveted) & this is it. The flavor & oozy cheese just pops outta that juicy, snappy skin eliciting spicy goodness like nothing else ever could. Doesn't even NEED sauce. Just by itself can render your palate wild. I KID YOU NOT. Don't miss that one & it serves as a perfect side to the burger I had. Absolutely, fast, friendly & kind service by gentleman who essentially could be your favorite neighbor. They're definitely pushing out Temple's finest BBQ. I mean I just can't think of anyone else.... wait, sorry Best Quality, they got you beat for now. Even if there were 15 other joints in town, they AIN'T beating this meal right here. Just get here already Friday & get there before they sell out. You can't drool forever. Get satisfied 'Dustin' the bottom of your plate & you'll be dreaming about this one a long time, 'Mark' my words!! Update: Sadly, Yelp can't keep the pictures loaded properly for prior & current review, they lost them and my captions. So I had to add them again all in this one. Dunno!??

Our Review: A Solid Standard BBQ Meal from a Texas Monthly Top 100 Contender…read moreThis food truck, proudly holding a Texas Monthly Top 100 BBQ award, delivers a reliable and satisfying barbecue experience that settles comfortably into the realm of "nice standard BBQ." The operation is traveler-friendly, offering both indoor and outdoor seating to escape the heat. We found the prices to be reasonable, sharing a three-meat plate and a drink for $26.74, which is solid value for the quality. The Meats: Hits and Misses The selection of meats provided a good showcase of the pitmaster's skill, though consistency was the key challenge. The star was the Jalapeño and Cheese Sausage. It featured a nice double grind and boasted a perfect, audible snap on the casing. It was wonderfully cheesy, packed with a flavorful blend of cheddar and jack cheeses that made every bite decadent and satisfying. The Brisket delivered excellent smoke flavor, complete with a prominent smoke ring and a great, peppery bark. However, the texture was a letdown, as the meat was noticeably a little dry and chewy in places, suggesting it either rested too long or was sliced from a less-moist section. The Ribs were juicy but tough. They were nice and juicy in flavor, but the overall texture was a little tough and not consistent across the bone, leaving some parts more enjoyable than others. Creative Sides: The sides attempted to be innovative and added welcome brightness to the heavy meats: * Jalapeño Cole Slaw: The addition of green apple was a brilliant touch, offering a great, refreshing flavor contrast. While the jalapeños gave it a much-needed kick, the heat did not integrate well with the overall mix of flavors, feeling a bit separate from the main slaw profile. * Charred Corn Elote Salad: This side was a hit in flavor, presenting a delicious nice mixture of corn and cream. The only slight drawback was the temperature; serving this side warm would dramatically elevate the richness and texture of the cream and charred corn. Final Takeaway: This award-winning food truck offers a good, affordable, and nice standard BBQ meal. While the sausage is a must-try, the brisket and ribs need minor consistency improvements to truly climb the Texas rankings. Given the reasonable pricing and dual seating options, it's a great stop for a dependable BBQ fix.

An update for Maggie's Catering for 2012 - -…read more we continue to utilize Maggie's wonderful services and use her repeatedly because Maggie and her team continually deliver high quality food and customer service. When someone does that for you every single time, day in and day out, you don't need to look anywhere else. They've changed up the menu offerings and items w/in the last year to add in some diversity by adding in baked chicken, cheese enchiladas (awesome!), and an array of other meal offerings. So I'm really not an enchilada fan, but Maggie's are so good she has officially converted me. The cheese is so creamy and it's so flavorful! I'm always fond of their rasberry basil dressing and habanero marmalade sauce used to top their chicken, which they always set out in a bowl since they know we love it and it can be used for any type of dish. Their desserts are out of this world, the brownies remain the best damn ever - so soft and moist. The cookies (macadamia, chocolate, oatmeal, peanut butter) are freshly baked and would really give Tiff's Treats (in Austin) and your mom's recipe a run for their money. They always like to try something new - such as their salted and sweet snacks, they coat the crackers with a spicy seasoning and add a layer of sweetness and bake them in the oven - - wow. Everyone can't seem to get enough. Maggie and her team are always willing to go above and beyond for us, as sometimes I (hear) we can be quite demanding. Her son does a lot of the cooking by utilizing his family's recipes and incorporating some of his own, they always come through for us and exceed expectations. The proof is in the (banana) pudding - - everyone back at home who hears about our training sessions rarely inquire about the facilitators or the content, they sign up due to the awesome food!!

During those email exchanges, they explained they drop off the food at 9:30 for my 10am event. At 10am, I am holding off my ceremony as I try to figure out where the caterers are. I try calling, and get a busy signal. I call again, and get someone who tells me the driver is in route and should be there any minute. Then, the company calls me back and says that the driver is lost and has been trying to call me, but I won't answer. Since I am holding my phone, and repeatedly trying to call them, and answered the second they called me, I am pretty sure the driver is not making any attempt to call me. I hand off my phone to someone else to direct the driver to the location (which I had given directions to in the emails), and go to the ceremony. After I get promoted, we go back into the conference room, and still no food. It's not 10:35-ish, meaning they are over an hour late. Finally, at 10:45 he shows up and starts setting up. Meanwhile, my guests are leaving because there was no food. After the ceremony, I called to make payment and ask for something to be done to credit me something, since they were 75 minutes late. I'm told that the driver explained to them that he got there at 10:07, and had all the food set up before my guests were there. I'm also told that it's "His story, my story, and the truth." Like I am making the whole thing up. Eventually, they gave me a 10% discount, which on a party with over $800 of food - most of which had to be thrown away because my guests were gone - was not nearly enough for being 75 minutes late - and for treating me like I am trying to lie to them and get over on paying them. I will say - the food was good, and they were great on getting everything scheduled. It's just the delivery was horrible and will keep me from going back to them.
