An early morning breakfast choice on Sunday. I have been trying all the small private/family owned places around Georgetown and Jarrell that I find. The course of study has been Huevos Rancheros, at all of them. Rio Bravo is a pretty small place with a half a dozen tables, and a tv you can see from most of the seating. You look at the menu, and order/pay at the counter. There was plenty of fresh coffee adjacent, and you serve yourself. The fellow working, did come by and refill for me. Eggs were overcooked. Over easy eggs seem to be difficult at many of these diners. The refried beans were fine, the potatoes were a bit strange. I could not tell how they were cooked! A bit oily with no color whatsoever. Did not like them. At least fry them, to get some color... and a crisp outer is highly desired in fried potatoes. The bacon was obvious cooked enmass earlier, and placed on top of the order. Extra crispy. That is fine, as I love bacon, hot or cold. Plastic flatware was a bummer. Everyone that was seated, and those that picked up call in orders were friendly, and appeared to be the regular guys on a Sunday. Perhaps the gathering and meal before church. I may try them again for a lunch perhaps. Breakfast is a no go for me. read more

We decided to try this place to try some tamales for Christmas Eve. We were on a mission. The tamales were good and tasty but a little too much masa for us. I ate a cheese enchilada plate as it was lunchtime. They were plain but had a good taste and gravy. Nothing special. We have heard from friends this is a good breakfast taco joint. We will be back to try tacos for breakfast. Inside seating had three tables, and rather small. I am guessing they have a downtown walk up clientele. read more

if i could leave 0 stars i would. my boyfriend and i were both extremely disappointed with our meals. we paid $35 for two small breakfast plates so we expected the quality would match the price but unfortunately it did not. the portions were also so sad we both left still hungry. we heard a microwave in the back....like seriously. the service was lousy. styrofoam plates and plastic silverware and canned food is what you can expect from this place. the list of negative things to say about this "restaurant" could go on and on. save ur time and money and go elsewhere. read more

Well, no vast improvement here. I shall not be back, I mean it this time. Got a bacon, bean, potato, my standard. It was heavy, that had my hopes up. The beans aren't terribly flavorful and they're pretty wet, so a bit hard to contain in a taco. The potatoes were underseasoned and a sad, bright, white color, no crisp/browning from the flat top. All in all blah city. Hot sauce didn't help the cause. Thankfully I'm never here to speak of so I will continue to have my wonderful Vásquez tacos in Austin. read more

This hole in the wall Mexican food place has some really delicious food! We stopped in for lunch today and there were were two tables open out of their 8 total tables. You order at the counter and then quickly after, you get some delicious chips and spicy salsa brought to your table. I highly recommend getting the carne guisada! The borracho beans were really good too. I finished all of mine and I don't usually even eat them. Make sure to bring cash because you get a discount for not having to pay with a card. read more

After a bad experience this morning at Taco Cabana, I drove an extra 8 minutes and found this great little hole-in-the-wall called Rio Bravo Mexican Cafe off of 11th Street. It is a clean, humble little place with great prices, fresh ingredients, and fast, friendly service. The tortillas were delicious! The eggs and potatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly! While Rio Bravo is slightly out of my way, I'll gladly leave my house ten minutes earlier to eat somewhere where my money and time are spent at a family owned restaurant where quality of service and food are paramount. I'm looking forward to many more great breakfasts!!! read more

Yuck! Dad and I went for breakfast this morning... what a joke! He ordered 2 eggs over medium, bacon toast and coffee. I wanted a black bean/avacado taco on wheat (tortilla), cashier was questioning me if I wanted vegetarian... pointed out their were two choices of tacos! I can read but felt uncomfortable about how she was trying to sway me away from what I really wanted. Egg, potato, cheese on corn is what I got instead... kinda vegetarian...I thought oh well!! Dads eggs were runny, one slice of toast that was barely toasted, 1 slice of old greasy bacon. To top it off coffee has only one option of creamer (unknown powdered brand)... Thanks for letting us know where NOT to go...terrible. Oh yeah boiled( not fried) potatoes on my taco! I' m done... smh!!! read more

Fantastic little place that serves the best breakfast tacos in North Williamson county. Open till 2pm, haven't had lunch here but it is available and I suspect would be very good. The owner is very gracious, their servings are huge and everything looks extremely clean. Loved the picture of the owner and his daughter hanging on the wall. read more

Tried this because of the great reviews, deservedly so. My wife had one sausage egg and cheese taco, I went with two chorizo, egg and cheese tacos and a cup of coffee. Everything was delectable, the hot sauce had nice flavor and heat, the tacos disappeared in record order, the tortillas were awesome. The lady that owns the place is very friendly, we'll definitely be coming back...posted a few pics...they have lots of pics of military people on the walls...pretty cool. read more

Quick review for a Quick breakfast...Service was super friendly..Wife..Bacon and Egg omelette..No cheese??..Make sure you ask for cheese...Bacon was crunchy good/not so good...If that makes any sense..at least its NOT Deep fried...Migas for me Please..Beans were awesome...my wife just misses out on all the goodness of Beans in the morning..Migas was really good..The Eggs..Both of US really liked the eggs...most dont stand out..these did..I can see why people Love the Breakfast Tacos..But..They lost us on the potatoes..Cooked thru, but bland...We never reach for salt and pepper..EVER...I put some salsa on them and it helped...All together it was tasty...Will need to get back for lunch.. read more

I'll start off by saying I've only had breakfast. The good was they were fast and good sized portions. The problem was the flavor and consistency. The potatoes were boiled I think? They were pale white with no crisp or browning and definitely no seasoning. The beans were runny and flavorless. And the salsa tasted like hot ketchup. I'll be willing to give it another try to see if I caught them on a bad day but I definitely wasn't impressed after spending $55 on breakfast for my family. read more

This lovely little gem unfortunatly sits in the shadow of big brother Dos Salsas next door..... but they could give Dos a run for their money! The wonderful eatery unfortunatly gets overlooked for their amazing breakfast tacos...but don't be fooled by what is "popular" in town. Rio Bravo out shines the rest! You wouldn't know this restuarant was here if you didn't know it... so I would take some time to try it out! They are only open for breakfast and lunch. The dining area is pretty small, but I've never seen it very crowded. Everytime I go to get breakfast here, there are the usual group of old timers enjoying their coffee and conversation. The staff is very friendly, never encountered any problems! They are quick to get your order out to you. The breakfast tacos are wonderful! They are pretty stuffed so be careful to not let your eyes fool your stomach! The meat (chorizo, bacon, sausage) has never been greasy. Every year around Christmas time we make an order of tamales from them. And they are always amazing! This is a favorite stop for my family and me. The staff is always friendly, and know me and my kids by name. The owner is the hardest working woman I've ever met, and always greets us with a smile and a hug. The food is delicous! Fresh and home made. I've been there for breakfast and lunch and the lunch burrito is to die for. If you are lucky enough to be the "in" crowd, you can join some of the regulars for coffee, breakfast and conversation. If you like the food at El Charrito but want more choices, or are veg*n, this is the place for you! Delicious, fresh made food served quickly and cheap! Hard to best that. You can get whole wheat tortillas, which is novel in Gtown. There's also a full vegetarian menu so those eating meatless don't have to hunt and peck through the menu for something they can eat. I appreciate the convenience and speed of El Charrito's walk up window, and the fact that I don't have to make many decisions when ordering. But when I want a little more choice in my food, or want to eat veggie, this is the place! read more

Small, cozy, homey, and extremely personable. Seems like a hole in the wall joint that out services and out serves its larger competitors. Coming here took me back to those times when my grandfather would take me to eat at a small family establishment. Let's you really enjoy the food, the company, and your time.
