We went at 530pm on a Thursday. It wasn't busy at all, very quiet. Ordered at the counter then we sat inside. There are a couple of picnic tables outside though. Everyone was very nice. Food was served very quickly & it was very fresh and had good flavor. In my opinion, the birria Tacos were not served to do the delicious meat any justice. It was more like plopped wet on the tortillas with the juice. They are not doing the meat justice by serving it this way instead of doing it with the birria & cheese seared into the tortilla then adding cilantro and onions like I've seen at every other place. It makes it taste so much better when it's not wet, but cooked into the taco and you're able to dip it into the consommé. It was a bit overpriced in my opinion. $56 for what you see in the pictures. Chorizoqueso and chips, beef taco plate that does not have any sides, 2 plates of Two à la carte tacos, a Dr Pepper and two glasses of beer. read more

This is a large eatery, but much of the space is wasted. It appears staff is still concerned about communicable diseases and both masks and keeps wide table separation. The real challenge I have here is that the menu is very limited. It's pretty much down to tacos, tacos, and more tacos, but no other Mexican foods. We tried really hard to find something that would satisfy, but couldn't and left without purchasing. I'd love to give them a try at some point. You know, when I just want a taco. Ordered the chips and queso and a carne asada torta. The good: well seasoned meat and great flavor overall on the torta, would definitely order again. The not so good: store bought chips (not even the good kind) and the queso was not very flavorful. I'd skip this in the future. read more

Juan and Lupes Kitchen has to be one of my "Goto" spots for great Mexican Tortas. The flavor is so good that I don't mind the 23 minute drive to grab it. I usually do a phone order and it's ready when I arrive. Likes * Freshest bread I've experienced on a Torta in the area. * Portion size is great. We usually by two, split one and save the other for second dinner. * Excellent salsa choices. * Love the restaurant set up. You can watch your meal being prepared right there. * Service is always friendly. * Excellent flavor in the Carnitas and Carne Asada. Dislikes * Post Covid prices in effect. Bit much for a Torta. * Charge for extra salsa, so be prepared when you ask. Honestly, even being a little pricey, I still hate when I find out their closed on Sun and Mon. The location is a little off the beaten path and a cute casita type of place. The kitchen is small and open air so you get to smell all the good food cooking while your waiting. What a disappointment! I was in town and thought this would be a good tasting restaurant. The service needs to improve! When I walked in, I was greeted and told to have a seat. Then the guy walked over to my table and handed me a paper menu and said: "When you're ready to order, just step over there" pointing to the cash resister. Small place to get some delicious Tex Mex food. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The place is clean. I was met within a few seconds of entering. The server asked me to find a seat of my choosing and review the menu, then to come to the front to order. After ordering, you take a seat, and the staff brings you your order. I got my beer in a couple of minutes and waited on the tacos about 10 minutes. The tacos were excellent and filled the tortilla completely. This was my first time back in about a year. I was really impressed by the tacos this time! I had a chipotle steak & shrimp, and a Chimichurri Shrimp taco. Both were outstanding, but I liked the steak & shrimp the best. There was a nice selection of salsas in varying flavors & heat. The interior is a bit spartan, but cozy. They had indoor and outdoor seating (although not many tables). I used the restroom and it was very clean. One restroom for all guests. When we were ready to order we could go up to the register to place our order. They then gave us our number and brought the food out to us. We chose to sit outside since it was such a nice afternoon. My dining guest had a carnitas torta. It was large and very tasty. I had two tacos; a carnitas taco and a chimichuri shrimp. I, also, tried all three of their mild salsas (tomatillo, roasted red, and an avacado salsa). They were all delicious. I usually don't eat salsas with my tacos because I think it takes away from the meat and other toppings. However, with these salsas I couldn't get enough. Pleasantly surprised to find a great variety of handcrafted, delicious Mexican style tacos in this area. Tried the tinga, barbacoa, al pastor, birria de res, cochinita pibil and the cecina. They were all great, although I found the pibil a tad too greasy. The green and red hot salsas are great, but the red takes first place for me. Both are spicy and flavorful. I are 2 tacos there, and the presentation was nice. The rest were ordered to-go.
