I would say this place is the rival of Marisol's for the top Mexican restaurant in Georgetown. I don't give out four or five stars freely for Mexican restaurants. I've decided this place is deserving of 3.5 stars, which I deem as "decent, safe choice", considering the location. Pros? Guacamole has generous amount of avocado and not riddled with tomato and onion. Carne asada, mole, and pastor are the sure fire hits. The Cancun drink is so tasty! They have horchata. Cons: salsa selection leaves so much to be desired. It really makes them appear inauthentic, even for Tex-Mex. Hesitant to get breakfast tacos from them due to non-existence of green spicy salsa, or red spicy salsa (árbol), or a black molcajete salsa. All they have is jalapeño ranch and a very salty green salsa. For their chips, the red salsa is good, I hope they continue to purée it more like it was at this visit because I don't like when it's too chunky. We were in town to visit family and decided to stop for a bite after coming from the airport. Because my cousin and I love to try new Mexican places we decided to stop into El Nuevo Mexico. To our surprise there was no wait and we lived that it was a bigger Mexican Restaurant with plenty of room. We were immediately sat at our table and greeted by our server. I always ask for suggestions, so our server pointed us to the taco salads which was plenty to eat. I loved that I didn't feel overly stuff once done and it was a good portion of each topping so that one didn't over power the other. The elote was warm and tasty, so tasty that I was excited to have some left over to take with us and munch on the next day !! The queso was real cheese just in case you're wondering. Wishing I'd ordered a bigger size however I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to finish it. My cousin's review of the steak was that it was cut thin which was super nice, helped with it's tenderness. Easy to eat and very flavorful. There was enough for left overs which she enjoyed the next day. We'd certainly stop in again when in Austin next time. Plan to try some other menu items when we do, to see if they are just as good and tasty.

I went here for lunch today. Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess was very kind and seated us is it right away. We were promptly given drinks and menus, I got a Topo Chico, I love those. We were also given chips and salsa, the chips were fresh and crisp. The salsa was very good. we ordered a large guacamole. The service was very good. We were never looking for our server, she provided every need we had. Our food was great. I got a chicken dish and my husband got enchiladas. There is one thing that people should be aware of, and that is that they do not give free refills on the Arnold Palmer's. They are 3.25 each. I'm really glad I tried this restaurant today, I will definitely be back!

The seating was IMMEDIATE at around 11:45AM, our Waiter got our drinks, we looked over the menu, dabbled a bit about the protein choices with him, +I had a Great Time with my Very First Friend in Georgetown! The Food was sooo delicious, I took half of it home! (I think, the Delicious Chips+Dip made it impossible to finish!) The Ambiance was quite mellow for a Saturday afternoon! We were even able to choose our table. I would DEFINITELY come back, again, during these hours!

    Shrimp Fajaita for one

I came into this establishment last week for a take-out order for lunch. The establishment was fairly empty when I came in so I was expecting a quick turn-around. Shrimp Fajitas Fajitas are a quick but incredibly tasty meal that are perfect for dinner any night or lunch! There's nothing better than a delicious shrimp dish to commemorate warmer weather. That's why I just had to order these. The shrimp for this dish were tender and flavorful but were limited in number (7 in total). The price point for this dish is $23.00, and while not an eye- popping figure, for the amount of shrimp received, the price should reflect that. The fresh flour tortillas that accompanied this dish were nicely done. The order took about twenty minutes to be made and packaged to-go. Based upon this meal pick-up, this establishment may be worth a return visit.

Giant taco which is part of the combo plate

Ordered the queso especial ($11.50), the combo plate ($15.50) to share and a jumbo margarita ($14.00). My server Miguel was very friendly and our food came out hot and fresh. The background music was great and the bar area was also a great place to sit and enjoy out meal

The experience here isn't what I expected in Georgetown. We have a number of options for authentic Mexican here. I prefer dining here because the restaurant is spacious, open, clean, bright, and well staffed. The food here also surprises me. The menu features several dishes that I always look for when trying out New Mexican restaurants. I often wonder, "would mother approve?" The menudo is a bit lacking - I feel they could present it better. But everything else has been on point. Their version of a chile relleno, al pastor gorditas, and steak fajitas... all great flavors and right sized portions. Their tortillas are homemade and are light and fluffy. The beverages are great, too. Try their margaritas!

We had an early dinner so the restaurant wasn't too terribly busy and the ambience was nice. We could talk to each other without having to speak too loudly. My husband enjoyed watching soccer on the television. Our server promptly gave us menus. Got us waters, chips, two salsas and some guacamole. My husband ordered shrimp enchiladas and I got chicken Flautas and my husband got a strawberry margarita. The food came out hot and quickly. We enjoyed it immensely & the guacamole was fantastic. My husband loved his margarita, but I had to drive home! Ha ha. And to top it off, dinner is very affordable here. Their prices are very good. Our server was Angie and she was amazing. She was very attentive to my meal because she had the knowledge of my food allergies. Our service was so good that I'm going to ask for Angie every time I come here. Since I have to be so careful when I eat because I get horribly sick if I eat any cheese or sour cream, it's nice to be confident that I can eat here without worry because Angie's got my back! She really made a difference in my experience at this restaurant. Thanks Angie:)

Coffee was good and came when I ran low. I ordered the poblano omelette which I thought would be spicier, but it was still delicious! It's a large breakfast, nice crispy potatoes and tasty refried beans. I was a happy man the rest of the day. A few days later, I came back for an early dinner on a Monday. I've been told to not go to restaurants on Sundays or Mondays as that is when the chefs take their days off, but not here. Lots of open tables, chips and dos salsas came quickly . I had the Memos special , which is fajita meat cut up mixed with onions, bell Peppers and jalapeños, I added bacon. Man it was good! I got the Charro beans which were outstanding! As was the rice. It was a great dinner! I'm going to ask for more jalapeños next time....

Our drinks were outstanding, her recommendations were spot-on, and she made the entire experience feel effortless and fun. We're visiting Texas from California to see family, and this was our first time dining here. After reading some mixed reviews beforehand, I was unsure what to expect--but I honestly don't understand the negativity at all. Seating was quick, service was fast, and everything ran smoothly. The food took slightly longer than I'm used to, but it wasn't long at all--and once it arrived, it was absolutely worth it. The food was fantastic, and if people experienced longer waits, I imagine they came during a much busier time. Ade truly made this experience exceptional. Her energy, professionalism, and attention to detail elevated everything. If you're lucky enough to have her as your server, you're in great hands. I came with my husband and my mother, who is in a wheelchair. The restaurant employees were very accommodating, giving us a table and pulling away the chair so my mother could pull her wheelchair up to the table. They gave us chips and 2 types of salsa, one was hot and one was less hot. They were both good. My mom had scrambled eggs and beans. I had tacos. I do not eat the beans here because they use lard. I realize that lard is the traditional way to cook the refried beans, but it is not in my diet so I skipped the beans, but they looked really good and my mother seemed to enjoy them. The food was good. The only difficulty I had is the tables are very close together, so it was very difficult getting my mother to the bathroom in her wheelchair. People had to get up and move for me, which was awkward. It would be good if they had a few less tables allowing a little more room between the tables so people with wheelchairs could travel through the restaurant without issues. The customers had to get up and move out of the way so I could push my mother through the restaurant to the bathroom. Everyone was very friendly. I didn't have to ask anyone to move, they were all courteous and saw my dilemma. They were truly Texas friendly and showing Texas hospitality! God bless Texas! I must say, however, because of the difficulty of taking my mother to the bathroom, I will not be bringing my mother back to this restaurant, although she loved the food very much.
