The chips are excellent and the queso compuesto rivals the Bob dip at Matt's El Rancho. The refried beans here are above average. The chicken is tender and tasty and their tomatillo sauce is not spicy, which pleases my wife's palate. I always order an extra bowl of tomatillo sauce because there is never enough as it is just ladled over the enchiladas. This particular visit wasn't up to their usual standards. This place is hard not to love, the food is amazing and honestly the beef fajitas are the best in the area. I really wish they offered a more authentic salsa but the bean dip is so good. The queso recipe seems to have changed but it's mostly solid. The only place lacking is the service and it's been like this since covid. So whenever I'm in town, we like to go to this place because they have the best fajitas in town. I haven't been for a couple years and last week we went when we were visiting my sister-in-law in town. First of all, they don't take reservations and so you have to be ready to wait at least 45 minutes to hour for a Friday night. So just be ready to wait. It's not a big deal. You can go to the bar and order a drink in my case I ordered water cause it was so hot outside cause we had to wait outside, and it was fine. There was four of us eating dinner and we paid a lot of money for dinner. I think it's way overpriced for what you get. I think we paid over $185 We didn't even order alcohol. I went with the fajita salad and it was just OK. The chicken was cold and it wasn't sizzling fajitas from what I expected to be on top of the salad. So that was a three out of five for me. I understand the food prices have gone up everywhere, but this just seemed too ridiculous for what you got. For the fajitas , I think the lowest price is $40 and goes to $65/$75 which I think is crazy cause I can go to a nice steakhouse and get a nice steak for that much and they are good, but I don't think they're worth that much good. And the chips are not great. They have no flavor and they were just not good at all. So I would say overall, we liked our food, but it wasn't anything wow and it definitely was not worth the price. You can get 12 enchiladas from here from $20-$27 depending on if you get just cheese or meat in them. This is a great last meal prep if it's just you and you don't feel like cooking for a few days. Cook up some rice and beans at home (in addition to the small side of complimentary charro beans and salsa they usually give) and you're good for 3-4 days! I love Tex-Mex so i've been here several times now and was only disappointed once, however I ordered something way out of my usual palate that time so it was expected. This Cedar Park Lupe Tortilla is a picturesque establishment. The best item on the menu is the fajitas. If you're looking for a full fajitas feast - this is the place! The green beans are also good. At one time Lupe Tortilla was classy Tex-Mex. However, note that this is an extremely noisy place. It's not good for chatting, romance, or avoiding a headache and not so classy these days. But no worries, the prices do remain upscale. Not even the bar area is immune from exceptional noise. During my most recent visit, the two tables closest to ours featured a couple and child with blaring media and an individual angrily shouting interactively on speaker phone - both for the entire meal. This is great because you can avoid pesky table talk amongst your own group! Finally, if you enjoy non-fajita dishes that are so hot they should be classified as a controlled substance, this is the place for you! Be ready to feel like crying while feeling that your face may melt off. Maybe if really lucky, when asked, the server may disappear into the abyss to retrieve bar napkins instead of making the 5-foot treck to the bar. This would allow for fully visible face melting - why not entertain your table mates! Further, if veggie is your thing, and you enjoy corn on the cob after asking for veggies - this is also the place. Enjoy this with a standard knife. A sharp knife is just too easy. Lupe never disappoints ! This place has always been a good to go place for tex-mex food. Came in on a Saturday afternoon, even though they were busy but we got seated pretty soon. Drinks are always great . Food is good and the portions are huge ! Sometime the service can be a bit slow depending on the hour of the day . Our server was attentive I would say ! One thing to note if you are a vegetarian: They rice contains the chicken broth and keep an eye on salsa one of them had some meat last time I visited ! I was having my oil changed nearby and saw that they served breakfast here. I was attended to immediately from the hostess in the nearly empty restaurant. The music was a little too loud for this early in the morning , but I'm sure it's a pre set volume. I was attended to by Linda who is the real star of this restaurant. She is an authentic nice person who actually talks to you and not just takes an order. I felt like she was really taking care of me. Lots of great breakfast choices but I settled on the Chilaquiles. The dish came in a small cast iron dish and a side plate with potatoes and a cup of refried beans. The meal Arrived and it looked fantastic! The taste was great and it was a little spicy, just the way I ordered it. The only issue was that the first layer of chips, with the sauce , cheese, chicken and eggs were delicious ( pic 1). The bottom layers of chips were a little soggy and lacking in sauce (pic 2). It worked out actually because I was all ready full and didn't need to eat it all. The potatoes were good but the beans were a little cool. I think the dish would be better on a bigger plate. Well, we have tried this place 5 times. Hope g it gets better. But EVERY single time is the same or worse. Time to get the food 40' or more, I mean how hard is it to make rice? I visited Lupe Tortilla while in Austin. My friend and I went to brunch. So I didn't actually have a tortilla lol. We split two meals, Texas benedict and banana waffles. The Texas benedict was delicious with biscuits and sausage gravy as well as eggs. If you're looking for something to fill you up this is it! The banana waffles were full of yummy goodness. Again, another filling meal. I would absolutely recommend brunch! But if you're going to split meals I suggest splitting one meal and not two;) We sat at the bar and service was a little slow because they were slammed. Usually our experience at Lupe is great. However, tonight we were very disappointed. My husband ordered a large Dos XX, in which the waiter said they were out. Which then my husband saw another customer being brought a Dos XX. The waiter could have checked or followed up before immediately saying no. Then when ordering our food, the waiter said that they were out both rice and sour cream. It is very disappointing that on a Tuesday evening, they somehow ran out of two main things. There was no other alternative offered. Not to mention, it is ridiculous to be charged full price when the service was not only poor, but the plates of food were not complete. My friend and I went to Lupe Tortilla in Cedar Park, Texas for lunch. It was before the lunch rush so it wasn't very busy. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before being acknowledged by anyone. Finally a waitress came over with chips and salsa. No drinks mind you, just chips and salsa. We waited another 10 minutes for the waitress to take our drink order. Another 10 minutes went by before the drinks arrived. An iced tea and a coke...not exactly a bartenders nightmare. The drinks arrived and the wait staff took off without taking our food order. Now we have a half an hour invested and have yet to order food. Finally, after another 5 minutes goes by, we ordered from the lunch menu, 2 chicken taco salads. We waited another 15 minutes before I called the waitress over and told her if the food wasn't on the table in 2 minutes we were leaving. NOTE: I am not one of those crabby old men who complains because the ice is to cold or the napkins are pink and I hate pink. I never complain unless the difficulties become problems. I understand that the food service industry is a tough one and a few mistakes must be forgiven. My patients was being tested though. Our food finally shows up and they were enormous salads. My friend made note that they didn't look like lunch sized salads. It ends up, they weren't. I'll try to wrap this up with a critique of the food. The chicken had a chemical flavor like someone grilled it and didn't let the lighter fluid burn off. It was also very salty. At the bottom of the bowl was about 1/8" of water. Someone didn't drain the lettuce very well...although the lettuce was fresh. I'll give them that. As I alluded to earlier, the salads were not lunch salads and we were charged accordingly: 2 rather unpleasant taco salads and 2 drinks cost over $40 and 1 hour 20 minutes of what little time I have left. I know this was a long review and thank you for staying to the end. I just want to share one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life...and that includes when we went to Longhorn and a really big cockroach crawled up on my shoulder. I hope you'll take these words as one mans opinion, but this place was awful. In closing: SURPRISE, I will never eat at Lupe Tortilla again. Next time I want a taco salad I'll go to Rosa's. The food is better, it's a lot cheaper and I can eat and be out before I'm too old to feed myself. (This is not meant to be an ad for Rosa's. I just like the place.) read more

My husband and I ate at Lupe Tortilla on the evening of June 30. I ordered chicken torillas. He ordered Steak Fajita's . By the end of the night it was apparent I had food poisoning. I went to Cedar Park Regional Hospital ER and the doctor admitted me for four nights. It has taken me three weeks to recover from this experience! I went for brunch on a Sunday with my toddler, my best friend, and her dog. It was surprisingly slow, so the sweet and friendly hostess sat us immediately on the patio (which we obviously requested). Our server Ari was incredibly attentive and amazing. The food and drinks we ordered were delicious and refreshing. Highly recommend the breakfast nachos, btw- even my picky toddler loved them. The ONLY reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because of one specific individual. I'm fairly sure this was a BOH manager, and he needs to stay in the BOH. He came out to ask us how our meal was, and when my bestie replied that it was awesome and our server is fantastic and deserves a raise (common praise coming from most people), he proceeded to get verbally aggressive with her and was apparently offended by her comment. That definitely did not sit right with either of us, nor did his dry and rudely stated comment of "if you think she's so great then you should tip her more"- implying that we hadn't tipped her enough when we hadn't even gotten our checks yet because we weren't finished eating. Ari, if you see this, you're incredible at what you do, and your fun and spunky personality really made our experience a positive one. If we return, we will absolutely be requesting you specifically. You deserved fully that $20 tip I left on our $50 tab. And I'm so sorry that you have to work with someone who doesn't know how to speak to people or how to accept positive feedback on the staff without getting weirdly angry over it.
