Chuy's is my go-to Tex-Mex comfort-food establishment. Did you know Chuy's first opened in 1982, and now they are a chain with locations nationwide. We were surprised to see a Chuy's in Colorado Springs, Co. We frequent the Cedar Park location and have always enjoyed our visits. Their Mexican martinis are a Fav and they will gladly double them up for you. My go-to is the Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom Enchiladas. I love the spicy boom-boom sauce and the green chile rice that accompanies it. I'm also a fan of their tortilla soup. This is our takeout option when it's chilly outside or if we are going lite. It comes with plenty of chicken, and you can spice it up to your preferred heat level. I can honestly say that I've never had a bad experience at any of the Chuy locations in the Austin area. Yes, everyone raves about the jalapeño ranch, and yes, they're correct. But what doesn't get enough credit are the chips: thin, light, super fresh, perfectly crisp. No thick, dusty triangles pretending to be artisanal. Pair that with their salsa--bright, tomato-forward, almost pico-like, never pasty--and suddenly you've eaten half a basket before the food even arrives. This is not your fault. This is design. Atmosphere: I love quiet places. Chuy's is not one. But it's boisterous in a way that feels alive, not chaotic. The artwork and design are genuinely original, full of heritage and stories--not corporate Tex-Mex cosplay. It feels like a place that knows who it is and doesn't need to explain itself. Service is usually good--kind, fun, efficient. But my server last night was exceptional. Not just polite, but attentive in a human way. She clocked that I'd had a long day and quietly turned dinner into an actual experience instead of a transaction. That kind of care matters. Bottom line: Chuy's is still doing what it's always done--serving big, flavorful Tex-Mex with personality, history, and zero apologies. I may be a taco guy everywhere else, but at Chuy's? Got the Kings Memorial Combo and it was really good. The enchiladas had great sauce but honestly the beans and rice were my favorite part. The creamy jalapeno ranch with the chips was the star of the show and something we do not have in California. The queso was also solid and worked perfectly with the dips. Chips were a little on the chewy side but the dips made up for it. Sweet tea was fresh and spot on. Service is always quick and the staff is super sweet every time. The place has a fun vibe with quirky and colorful decor that makes it feel lively and welcoming. Portions are generous and the plates come out looking just as good as they taste. Came to eat dinner July 10th around 9-10pm And someone I assume is a off duty employee had a little dog with her in the kitchen aswell as holding the dog above the chips which is disgusting on top of that a hand full of waiters were petting and scratching the dog then proceeded to handle our food. I don't mean to be a Karen about this but come on that's unacceptable to have animals in the kitchen. I'm increasing my review to 5 stars due to the service in the bar area. My last few visits I've eaten in there and the service has been really good. I've dined at both busy and slow times, lunch and dinner. My servers have been on top of things, even when they have been overwhelmed. Each server stayed on top on of my drinks--a margarita never went totally dry before another one was offered! I hadn't been here in so long, so thought I'd stop by and get a quick drink and an appetizer from the bar. Upon arriving (a little past 7pm) we were able to sit at the bar right away. I was greeted by Shayla, when I couldn't decide what to get, she recommended me some of her faves. I ended up getting the Skinny Marg & Appetizer Plate. The margarita tasted great, and the appetizer plate was perfect too! Shayla was very attentive but not overbearing which is always nice in a restaurant setting. The other bartender Brad I believe was his name, also was attentive and offered us waters too. I love that the bar wasnt too crazy busy, so the bartenders are able to attend all the guests in a non-rushed way. I wasn't able to finish everything I ordered but without even asking Shayla brought me a to-go box, which was exactly what I needed. I'll be back for happy hour next time! I have enjoyed Chuy's @ Cedar Park several times over the years. I would have my Toyota serviced @ Toyota of Cedar Park and take the dealership shuttle to the Chuy's while waiting. The food has always been amazing. For Me, Chuy's Tex-Mex is on par with Baby A's. However, I recommend to always to take a picture of your receipt and the copy you signed for the merchant. read more

Horrible experience with just waiting for a table. Glad I checked on our reservation that was told 30-40 mins. The girl said we had been texting you. Come to find out the hostess typed the wrong number in. Then she said their system removed me from the list. Now this happened twice being removed from the system. I love Chuy's! Have for a long time but COVID killed my favorite entree. Elvis fried chicken. I was over the moon to see that this glorious item is back!!! Food is pretty good for the price you pay since most restaurants sell way overpriced microwave Sysco food. So I do give claps for Chuys keeping the prices affordable. Service is a lot better for sure in the last 6-8 months. When in the years prior, it was definitely lacking. Thank you Chuys for stepping up your customer service game! Ambiance-I do wish they would keep their tables and floors cleaner, for this I would blame the busers. I also wish they would not allow dogs in the restaurant patio. I am a dog lover but restaurant isn't the place for pets. I'm sure no one wants dog hair in their food and/or some of your customers might be allergic to pets? We've been coming to Chuy's for years, and it never stops hitting the spot! That being said, I was excited to see a new menu item that was a true winner. We ordered the Tex-Mex Burrito bowl. The bowl was MASSIVE! It comes with a lifetime supply of rice and other toppings including chopped up fajita beef. If you end up ordering this for yourself, my hint would be to split the bowl in two, but eat all the meet in the first sitting. Bring home the rest and just add meat to make a perfect second dish. The rest of the meal was as typical Chuy's as you can get. Chips with the jalepaneo ranch, two margaritas, and some ground beef tacos which were all perfect. We left quite satisfied. My family and I used to be loyal Chuy's customers. We would come multiple times a month and rarely ever had issues...until our last two visits. Unfortunately, today's experience was the worst we've ever had and honestly made us question if we'll ever be excited to come back. We waited almost an hour and a half for our food, with four kids. When it finally came out, my wife's meal and my son's meal were both wrong. After such a long wait, my kids were already done and over it. The staff offered to remake the incorrect meals "to go" and said they wouldn't charge for those two plates, but at that point nobody wanted to wait any longer. What made everything worse is that nothing else was comped despite the extremely long wait, the wrong orders, and a completely frustrating dining experience. No discount on the rest of the meal. It's really sad because we genuinely loved Chuy's and always recommended it to others. After today, it's hard to see ourselves coming back anytime soon. A safe Tex-Mex option! Food: Love their chips! Make sure you ask for jalapeno ranch to dip your chips in beside their salsa. No extra charge. Some of my go-to options: Shrimp tacos: 2 tacos. I do prefer the grill over fried since it has more flavor. Steak burrito: Large portion. The steak can taste a little burned at times. They always come with rice and beans, but I don't really enjoy them. Staff: Most of the time, our servers are very friendly and attentive. Food is really not good. It's wild. This is a very known and supposedly name brand restaurant in town- but have the owners/management actually eaten the food? Do you really like it? How does it compare to Serranos and Lupe Tortilla? Hint: light years behind. Fajitas are dry and even look like they were just reheated frozen meat. Enchiladas- no good. Food - food was relatively decent (very standard quality to other locations). I ordered a cheese enchilada with boom boom sauce which was adequate for fast food standards (sauce was spicier than I expected in a good way!) I will say that the food took longer to arrive since they had run out of rice, but our server warned us of this in advance and we had chips to keep us satisfied! Service - although our server was very nice, she didn't do a great job of checking in with our table regularly. For example, after we started eating, one member of my party realized her dish was a bit too spicy and wanted to get a side of sour cream. Where I would like to see them improve is in their soups and salads. They're just not up to par in my opinion, in particular their tortilla soup. I stopped by Chuy's on Monday night with a couple friends, and while the food was fine, what I witnessed from the manager, Ethan, was enough to make sure I won't be returning anytime soon. In full view of customers, Ethan spoke to his staff in a way that was downright disgraceful--belittling and talking down to them over something that, frankly, was extremely logical and didn't warrant that kind of response. As someone who works in sales, I get the pressure of customer satisfaction, but there's a line--and Ethan crossed it by choosing ego over leadership. There's a right way to correct mistakes and lead a team, and what Ethan showed was anything but. His behavior was condescending, unprofessional, and frankly embarrassing--for himself and the restaurant. I won't support an establishment where that kind of treatment is tolerated. If you've never eaten at Chuy's then you need to do it now. It is an Icon in Texas for Tex-mex food. They have a very restricted menu during Covid, but everything they offer is good. Each location has different decor and that's part of the experience. Very casual dining. Great for kids and families as well, although a little pricier than some local places. If you're visiting Texas, then you need to stop in at Chuy's! Great Tex-Mex at a great price point. I met my friend for lunch at Chuy's and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of food I received. We started with some chips with salsa, jalapeño cilantro sauce and guacamole. The salsa was ok. I've never had a jalapeño lime sauce, it was a little runny and I don't really taste the jalapeño but I thoroughly enjoyed its flavor. The guacamole was different...it was good but there were strands of lettuce in there which was unexpected. I ordered a chicken and steak fajita. It came out piping hot and juicy with the works - sour cream, cheese, etc. there was only 3 wraps but it was more than filling! I also ordered a side of boom boom sauce which was good. I ended up with leftovers to bring home so thought portion wise, it was pretty big. My friend had the chicken enchiladas with their signature boom boom sauce.
