That's good to know because I was not that hungry but I definitely wanted some enchiladas! Unfortunately, there was someone's gray hair in our creamy jalapeno dip. So disappointing :( Our server was apologetic and brought us a new dip. I ordered a half and half tea, and a half order of the chicka chicka boom boom enchiladas. I've loved Chuy's forever and so do lots of people so it's going to be packed at lunch and dinner. I dropped in recently after an appointment and sat at the bar and had the best time. I got a seat at the bar easily because it was after the lunch rush. It was green chile season so I tried all the festival sauces with my chips and flautas. I've been coming to Chuy's for 20+ years and I tend to get the same thing but I have a few favorites. I order the chicken flautas with the green chile rice and refried beans. Chuy's refried beans are my favorite. I always start with guacamole and chips and a frozen margarita on the rocks, usually watermelon. I think the fajitas are great and my friends usually order the chuychanga and the chile relleno enchilada combo. For birthdays, the tres leches is definitely a showstopper and worth the calories. If you can squeeze in outside of the regular lunch and dinner hours, you'll find it to be calmer but I've never minded the wait. read more

It was my first time trying this restaurant with my family and our experience was horrible. The waiter rolled her eyes at my sister in law after her asking for some juice for my little nephew and kept answering in a sarcastic tone when we would ask for simple things like straws for our drinks. She asked at one point "is everyone happy now?" after we all had our food. We had heard at another table someone sing happy birthday so we thought we would do the same for my other nephew who just turned 18th. Chuy's is my go-to Tex-Mex comfort-food establishment. Did you know Chuy's first opened in 1982, and now they are a chain with locations nationwide. We were surprised to see a Chuy's in Colorado Springs, Co. We frequent the Cedar Park location and have always enjoyed our visits. Their Mexican martinis are a Fav and they will gladly double them up for you. My go-to is the Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom Enchiladas. I love the spicy boom-boom sauce and the green chile rice that accompanies it. I'm also a fan of their tortilla soup. This is our takeout option when it's chilly outside or if we are going lite. It comes with plenty of chicken, and you can spice it up to your preferred heat level. I can honestly say that I've never had a bad experience at any of the Chuy locations in the Austin area. Ate at Chuy's in Cedar Park on 183A today. The waitress was great. We ordered fajitas for two that we split 3 ways. We asked for extra onions and red bell peppers. It took a while to receive the food but it was okay as we weren't in a hurry. What we received was burned and charred fare. The onions and peppers were burned to a crisp. EVERY SINGLE ONE. The beef was so charred on several pieces we couldn't eat it. The chicken was so overcooked it was mushy. I was shocked. I asked for extra onions and peppers since we couldn't eat any of the ones provided. We were brought about 7 onions and 12 peppers. I was getting upset. I asked for the manager. She came over and acted like it was normal and what were we complaining about. I never raised my voice. Just shocked. Finally she said do you want us to prepare a fresh plate. At first I said no, but my family said yes because the meat was burned and dry. We decided to get it to go. The fajitas were $40 so the manager took off $20, which I thought that was nice. I wasn't expecting something for nothing. Well, when we got home I opened it up and was surprised to see 4 pieces of chicken and 4 pieces of beef. I looked at the ticket and she had them prepare for fajitas for 1.So the entire platter that we could not eat we were charged $20 and then got a single order and paid another $20. I will never eat at this location again. I've heard this is a hit or miss location. Well it was definitely a miss today. Got the Kings Memorial Combo and it was really good. The enchiladas had great sauce but honestly the beans and rice were my favorite part. The creamy jalapeno ranch with the chips was the star of the show and something we do not have in California. The queso was also solid and worked perfectly with the dips. Chips were a little on the chewy side but the dips made up for it. Sweet tea was fresh and spot on. Service is always quick and the staff is super sweet every time. The place has a fun vibe with quirky and colorful decor that makes it feel lively and welcoming. Portions are generous and the plates come out looking just as good as they taste. Yes, everyone raves about the jalapeño ranch, and yes, they're correct. But what doesn't get enough credit are the chips: thin, light, super fresh, perfectly crisp. No thick, dusty triangles pretending to be artisanal. Pair that with their salsa--bright, tomato-forward, almost pico-like, never pasty--and suddenly you've eaten half a basket before the food even arrives. This is not your fault. This is design. Atmosphere: I love quiet places. Chuy's is not one. But it's boisterous in a way that feels alive, not chaotic. I'm increasing my review to 5 stars due to the service in the bar area. My last few visits I've eaten in there and the service has been really good. I've dined at both busy and slow times, lunch and dinner. My servers have been on top of things, even when they have been overwhelmed. Each server stayed on top on of my drinks--a margarita never went totally dry before another one was offered! I hadn't been here in so long, so thought I'd stop by and get a quick drink and an appetizer from the bar. Upon arriving (a little past 7pm) we were able to sit at the bar right away. I was greeted by Shayla, when I couldn't decide what to get, she recommended me some of her faves. I ended up getting the Skinny Marg & Appetizer Plate. The margarita tasted great, and the appetizer plate was perfect too! Shayla was very attentive but not overbearing which is always nice in a restaurant setting. The other bartender Brad I believe was his name, also was attentive and offered us waters too. I love that the bar wasnt too crazy busy, so the bartenders are able to attend all the guests in a non-rushed way. I wasn't able to finish everything I ordered but without even asking Shayla brought me a to-go box, which was exactly what I needed. I'll be back for happy hour next time! Came to eat dinner July 10th around 9-10pm And someone I assume is a off duty employee had a little dog with her in the kitchen aswell as holding the dog above the chips which is disgusting on top of that a hand full of waiters were petting and scratching the dog then proceeded to handle our food. I have enjoyed Chuy's @ Cedar Park several times over the years. I would have my Toyota serviced @ Toyota of Cedar Park and take the dealership shuttle to the Chuy's while waiting. The food has always been amazing. For Me, Chuy's Tex-Mex is on par with Baby A's. However, I recommend to always to take a picture of your receipt and the copy you signed for the merchant. read more

Food is pretty good for the price you pay since most restaurants sell way overpriced microwave Sysco food. So I do give claps for Chuys keeping the prices affordable. Service is a lot better for sure in the last 6-8 months. When in the years prior, it was definitely lacking. Thank you Chuys for stepping up your customer service game! Ambiance-I do wish they would keep their tables and floors cleaner, for this I would blame the busers. I also wish they would not allow dogs in the restaurant patio. The bowl was MASSIVE! It comes with a lifetime supply of rice and other toppings including chopped up fajita beef. If you end up ordering this for yourself, my hint would be to split the bowl in two, but eat all the meet in the first sitting. Bring home the rest and just add meat to make a perfect second dish. The rest of the meal was as typical Chuy's as you can get. Chips with the jalepaneo ranch, two margaritas, and some ground beef tacos which were all perfect. We left quite satisfied. I do prefer the grill over fried since it has more flavor. Steak burrito: Large portion. The steak can taste a little burned at times. They always come with rice and beans, but I don't really enjoy them. Staff: Most of the time, our servers are very friendly and attentive. My family and I used to be loyal Chuy's customers. We would come multiple times a month and rarely ever had issues...until our last two visits. Unfortunately, today's experience was the worst we've ever had and honestly made us question if we'll ever be excited to come back. We waited almost an hour and a half for our food, with four kids. When it finally came out, my wife's meal and my son's meal were both wrong. After such a long wait, my kids were already done and over it. The staff offered to remake the incorrect meals "to go" and said they wouldn't charge for those two plates, but at that point nobody wanted to wait any longer. What made everything worse is that nothing else was comped despite the extremely long wait, the wrong orders, and a completely frustrating dining experience. No discount on the rest of the meal. It's really sad because we genuinely loved Chuy's and always recommended it to others. After today, it's hard to see ourselves coming back anytime soon. Food - food was relatively decent (very standard quality to other locations). I ordered a cheese enchilada with boom boom sauce which was adequate for fast food standards (sauce was spicier than I expected in a good way!) I will say that the food took longer to arrive since they had run out of rice, but our server warned us of this in advance and we had chips to keep us satisfied! Service - although our server was very nice, she didn't do a great job of checking in with our table regularly. For example, after we started eating, one member of my party realized her dish was a bit too spicy and wanted to get a side of sour cream. It took around 15 minutes for someone to notice that we were trying to find a server. Our server came, but asked us if we wanted boxes even though my friend had not really started eating her food. I'm in no mood to cook. Our waitress was fun and beautiful! Chuy's is Tex-Mex tradition. Their enchiladas, their tacos their burritos their specialty plates are all fabulous!! Where I would like to see them improve is in their soups and salads. They're just not up to par in my opinion, in particular their tortilla soup. A huge disappointment!!Their taco salad no longer comes in a tortilla shell! Say what??????? Back to the positives. The chips come warm and are refilled ad lib!
