A nice experience at Jardin Corona last night. I had the burrito plate and a Margarita. Both were tasting good! There was a short wait, but we sat at the bar and was served quickly with our drinks. When we got our table our server was over in a few seconds and ready to take our order. Our order came out in less than 10 minutes...nice! Long time fav. Great, great margaritas. Grande is the best, frozen or flavored. Food is consistently good, nothing spectacular like the enchiladas at Maudies but a lot closer and not as loud. An old restaurant in an old strip mall only easily accessible from the northbound lane of Bell Blvd, this is a middle of the road TexMex place we visit every now and again. It has its pluses and minuses. It's well known for its large, consistent margaritas. The chips are light, crisp, and ungreasy, but the salsa is mild and rather bland. Service is reliable and engaged. Our most recent trip there, my companion ordered chicken fajita nachos and those were tasty and ample. I ordered the Pechuga Jardin Corona for a change of pace, a hearty meal with the lightly fried chicken breast stuffed with Monterey Jack cheese, bacon, and mushrooms. Unfortunately, it was plated without draining the fry oil sufficiently and so sat in an unappetizing puddle that did affect the taste. It's not a date place. We went to this restaurant for lunch after getting a very good recommendation from our trusted mechanic. I must say, I was impressed. I bought crunchy chicken tacos and they are the best tacos I have gotten in Williamson County so far; They were absolutely scrumptious. The beans and rice were perfect. My husband got steak fajitas and he loved them. We also got guacamole, which was really good. The chips were fresh, thin and hot. The salsa was great! I also got a topo Chico. Upon entering the facility, the greeting was prompt and friendly and we were told we could sit anywhere we wanted to. The restaurant is done in nice warm colors and it's nice and clean and it has beautiful wooden tables. It's generally a nice relaxing place to sit. The service was fantastic. We wanted for nothing. Absolute worst Mexican food I've ever had in Austin and I grew up here. I ordered a few things off DoorDash and they accidentally sent 3 orders. Every single thing was trash. Soggy, bland, cost an arm and a leg. Fighting with DD now to get my money back. But omg, I've never had anything so horrific in my life. The salsa was basically tomato sauce, chips, all stale, never order anything to go from here because apparently they don't know to cut the corners off the boxes to let condensation out. I got 3 orders of the same things because of DD but neither failed to be a POS order. Jalapeños were actually fresh and spicy! Loved that, with my soggy unflavored food. I'll never ever order here again. I spent over $80 to get shit I wouldn't feed a stray dog. I doubt it's the cooks fault. Ima blame management. Online because they are the culprit. Coming to the Cedar Park location thinking it was similar to the Liberty Hill location, IT IS NOT! The menu is the same, but the food was awful. Manager argues how my food came out!! Let me say, he was the highlight of the experience and he had nothing to do with cooking or serving. I ordered queso with chips...the cheese was thick, like velveta and it tasted like it. My Michelada was meh. I ordered the spinach enchilada combo: 3 enchiladas with jack and queso side or refried beans and rice. It was on the table in less than 10 minutes. It came out covered with the enchiladas and the sides had queso also. Took a bite and it was disappointing. First the smothered in queso, no Jack cheese and spinach that I couldn't even tell the difference. I mentioned to my waitress that I didn't like it and she offered the menu. I decided on the Chimichanga. It arrived 5-let's say 7 minutes to arrive. The chimichanga was hard, when it was described as soft shell. Ha! The worst of it all was that when I cut it, the chicken was pink. And I mean pink, salmon pink! I did not touch it. Our waitress asked how I was and I said I can't eat it. She responded with a "let me tell my manager." The manager came to tell me the chicken was not pink and it's been cooked.--and that it can only be cooked so long that the tortilla/chiminanga won't be hard. She was arguing. Jardin Corona is located in the back of a small u-shaped enclave of local businesses. Jardin Corona has been here for many years and is a towny haunt. It's a down-to-earth all around everyday good casual local Mexican place. I have been there many times. The food is consistently tasty! The veggies are great and I get them instead of beans/rice. There were 8 of us. Six of the 8 orders were wrong. Food was delivered with no silverware, then waited for napkins. One of us asked for refill on water, server brought a Sprite. Stopped in for lunch one day recently and I tried the fajita chicken and steak lunch enchiladas. The rice and beans were on par, it's kind of hard to mess them up, but the beef enchilada tasted like well, it didn't have much taste at all as far as the meat goes. Now the chicken fajita enchilada actually did taste like chicken fajita meat and I really liked it. The service was great our wait person was very friendly and kept checking up on us, and we appreciate that. I'd go back for two fajita chicken enchiladas but would skip the beef next time. Also the chips and dip were plentiful and the salsa was actually pretty good. We went here during lunch on a Sunday. It was somewhat busy. They gave us both the breakfast and lunch menu. Prices can be reasonably high for what you get. The good thing is they serve chips and salsa and they kept on refilling them up. I had to resist eating more. I ordered the menudo which was awesome and I enjoyed. It was spicy compared to others I had. I had my wife's taco with pastor. It was very dry. I had her other taco dish and they had a lot of toppings and generous, but very filling. My wife and I discovered this place a little under a year ago. I'm a massive tex-mex fan. We've been to a lot of Mexican food places over the past six years; we've tried every tex-mex/mexican food joint in the Cedar Park and surrounding areas. Most were okay. Some were even halfway decent. But the only place we've returned to on a near-weekly basis (and sometimes multiple times in a week) is Jardin Corona. The service is incredible at Jardin Corona. We've eaten there at least 20 times over the past six months, and only once has it taken longer than 10 minutes to bring our food to the table. On average, it's probably less than 5 minutes before our food arrives. I've never had such speedy service at a restauraunt in my life. The folks who work there are friendly and kind and attentive. The interior is what you'd expect to find at a Mexican restaurant. And the food? My goodness, the food. You'd think that the fast service would equal food that's been precooked and then kept warm under some lights. Not at Jardin Corona. Every single thing we've ever ordered has been fresh and delicious. And finally, let's talk about the price. This will depend on what you order, of course, but my wife and I usually order crispy beef tacos, spicy beef fajita tacos and ocassionally cheese enchiladas from the a la carte menu, which is very reasonably priced, especially for the quality of the food you're served. On average, our bill comes out to $16, not including a tip. And for that $16, we are stuffed. We can't even go eat fast food at Taco Cabana for that price! We can't speak highly enough of Jardin Corona, and it will keep a place on our regular restaurant lists for a very long time. read more

Went in for a late brunch today and took home a migas plate to go, with carnitas instead of chicken or beef. The carnitas were just pork cubes that tasted microwaved, completely inedible. The breakfast potatoes were mostly raw and hard as rocks, the couple of cooked pieces didn't taste great and the refried beans tasted dirty and strange. Mole sauce is great. Chicken. Cheese. Sauce ratio all great. Meat is flavorless - both the ground beef and chicken. The rice and beans are mediocre as well. The queso is average.
