Parrillada

The mexican parrillada and the carne guisada was delicious! El agua de piña está muy rica and the service excellent!

Carne Guisada

Plenty to improve on, but food was decent, although quite pricey especially for the portion size. I called in a pick-up order for 2 Barbacoa Tacos on Corn and 1 Carne Guisada on flour. Barbacoa was nice and greasy, but both were on flour. Onions and cilantro come standard. The Carne Guisada was on the stringier side but overall tasty. Tomatoey gravy and potatoes. Tacos were all small with a conservative amount of filling. Phone call ended the moment I said "that's it" without taking down any details (e.g., phone number; name). Upon arriving 7min later I had to place my order again with one of the ladies behind the counter which made for a slightly confusing experience. Do not expect a warm welcome when coming to this place. Customer service is the least of my concern, but this is clearly an area they could do a lot to improve. By the time I paid, my order was bagged up for me. Salsa bar is self-serve. While the food was not the problem, 3 small tacos for $12.99 means I cannot ignore all the other areas where this place is lacking. There are many solid taco spots in the area to patron instead.

Chorizo and eggs, potatoes and beans

Today I came in for the breakfast plate and it did not disappoint. I ordered the chorizo and egg plate with flour tortillas. The potatoes on the dish were perfect as was the star of the dish; chorizo and eggs. I also picked up some small ramekins of salsa to take with me. The salsa is fresh and flavorful. This place is definitely worth a try. Total damage for the breakfast plate $7.09

6 tasty salsas

Breakfast tacos, people. It's all about the amazing breakfast tacos at the family-friendly Del Sol Taqueria. And the homemade tortillas straight from the hands of angels. And the assorted tasty salsas you put on said tacos. And maybe the generous plates of made-to-order deliciousness with which you can create your own breakfast tacos. Both corn and flour tortillas are being expertly patted out by hand behind the counter, a lovely sound to hear while you're awaiting your order. Soft and fluffy (even the corn!), you'll want to just gorge on these until you pop. Complimentary tortilla chips become available at 11a, something you'll want to stick around for if you enjoy savoring that sweet, slow burn of 6 progressively spicy salsa options. Each sauce has its own flavor profile and serves a different purpose. FYI, that light creamy-looking green one is NOT made of avocados, it's simply jalapeños, garlic, salt, and emulsified oil -- similar to the Doña sauce that made a certain Austin-area taco chain famous. The creamy orange one is something similar, but made with habanero -- pretty sure that one is my favorite. My only request for improvement would be to add some escabeche (pickled veggies) to the salsa bar, but that's a nitpick. Yes, they have some lunch-ish items like enchiladas and what-not, but if you order only that, you are missing out! Read the other glowing reviews (very few of which are from gueras like me) and you'll see that the majority of praise comes for the breakfast items and ala carte tacos. At the least, you must try the migas plate (crisp tortilla bits perfectly incorporated and the right egg to other ratio) and the bistec ala Mexicana (tender, with no gristle!), with double orders of both corn and flour tortillas on the side so that you can fully experience taco nirvana. Bonus points if you add in a barbacoa side. Can't talk. Eating. Mmmm-mmmmm..... P.S. If some of your group members have terrible palates (I'm looking at you, 9 year old son), they can always fall back to the more bland quesadilla, nachos, nuggets, and burgers part of the menu. Those poor, unfortunate souls.

AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD! I didn't take a picture of our Beef fajita plate because it was way too good and we ate it way too fast. The beans were AMAZING and had an authentic taste and were so so good. This is nothing close to Tex-Mex. the employees who worked here consistently checked in on us and asked if we were okay with the food and needed anything else. Now let's talk about these CORN TORTILLAS..... absolutely breathtaking and delicious and they're made here, fresh in the restaurant. Probably the best corn tortillas I've ever had.. I can't wait to come back and bring the whole family!

I haven't even tried the food yet, but I've sampled the sauces and I'm definitely coming back even if it's just to drink them.

The food is consistently good but they no longer have chips. They have a wonderful variety of salsa and no chips. I would happily pay for them.

Another coupon from the Community Impact magazine bites the dust, they let you try new places for less, this particular one got you one free taco if you buy 2. My wife had the sausage, egg and cheese and i went with 2 chorizo, egg and cheese, all of which were on homemade tortillas, i had one flour and one corn...good stuff! They have a nice assortment on their little salsa/ condiments bar....had a senior moment and forgot to take a pic of it, but i did post a few others. They have salsas of 3 or 4 different heat levels and they're well marked, and pico de gallo.

My husband had the crispy taco plate and he said the meat was too salty. There were 4 of us, got 4 entrees, 1 topo chico, 3 tap waters, a side of pico and after tip we paid $70. Seat yourself - nothing fancy. The vibe here is local Mexican restaurant. The server was nice but became more engaged when I spoke Spanish to her. She greeted us with chips and two warm bowls of charro beans, which were absolutely delicious. My husband had a Cuban-style torta which was huge and he inhaled. It's not a Cubano - it's a traditional torta with ham and cheese added. He had fajita steak in his and said it was phenomenal. Honestly we could have split this and both been full. I have the taquitos plate. I went with chicken breast and al pastor (2 of each). Came with optional cilantro and onions (don't skip) and grilled onions/pepper plus a side. I couldn't finish it. The chicken was soooo good - very flavorful and not dry, some of the best chicken breast I've had in a while. The Al pastor was good too, but the chicken was exceptional, which I never thought I'd prefer! Under $30 with drinks and tip, this was very very good. The chicken soup others were enjoying also looked stellar - nobody was looking up from their bowl. Great little find. Will definitely be back!

I came back and waited about a minutes before I was acknowledged, I was sat and the waitress was attentive. I wanted to try the arepita appetizer which is normally served with shredded beef/pork or chicken on the side- to get a side of plantains instead of meat, it was going to add 3$ to the 14$ appetizer so I just opted to omit the meat all together and still had to pay the $14 ...which I don't feel is appropriate- people always wanna add money to sub a veggie for meat but never reduce the price when just removing the meat all together. Anyways, Ordered my food which was out promptly, the veggie bowl was delicious as always and the arepita appetizer (no meat) was good- reminded me of a fried potatoe cake, I used the arepitas as a vessel for my veggie bowl ! I brought the remainder of my bowl home where I bit into something very hard , once pulling it out of my mouth I discovered some beef snuck it's way into my dish- disappointing forsure but it is the first time out of about 10 times this has happened here. Prices have gone up over the last few years my veggie bowl was 18$.

The venue is a cocina (Mexican kitchen) and tequila bar. Solciedad is the reimagined version of the longtime Alcove Cantina, which reopened in April 2026 with a refreshed interior, revamped menu, and an expanded tequila and mezcal selection while keeping its role as a local nightlife venue. Sociedad is divided into three main areas...front, back and side all with different purposes. The front area looks primarily like a bar with side seating. You likely are in this section for a Tequila tasting or drink with conversation. The back room was more like a concert-like area with an open ceiling. You literally could see the stars from this section of the restaurant. I listened to some rhythm and blues and find the band to be smooth and sexy. However, my friends were in the last section, where a DJ was spinning Latin tunes. While it was fun to see my friends, it was totally slow boogie. The songs lasted too long, and we only heard a few songs that were familiar. I ordered a frozen Margarita, but they were out of Margarita. I have never been to a Mexican food restaurant that did not serve Margaritas. So, I then ordered some guacamole and chips, which I shared with my friends. After one set of music, we decided to leave the restaurant. Service was pretty good at the restaurant. Although our server was acting as server and bartender simultaneously. Also, there was no cover charge for Sociedad.
