Fried chicken
Majella L.

If you're here for the fried chicken then you're at the right place. Each bite had a nice crunch on the outside and juicy tasty inside. I'd return for the fried chicken. But the Hawaiian combo plate was less impressive. It's a small place located in a strip mall with just a counter to order. No dine-in tables. We noticed most people called in their orders and then picked up. The nice lady taking orders was super friendly and incredibly good at multi tasking non stop phone orders and in person orders while maintaining impeccable customer service.

Wow! You heard right, this was some of the best crispy fried chicken we've had in a long time! My wife loves fried chicken, and while I've taken her to other places, she still loves Jollibee. But, move over Jollibee, we have a new king! This crispy fried chicken was excellent! I read online that it's off the menu and they only make about 60 orders a day, so plan ahead if you want to try it! I was a little disappointed there's no place to sit down, as they are take-out only. However, they go to great lengths to ensure you enjoy your crispy chicken while it's still crispy. The cashier made sure to emphasize the importance of letting the styrofoam box breathe by leaving it open inside the plastic bag, which keeps the chicken crispy. They truly have it down to a science! This chicken was incredibly crispy, and the meat was succulent and juicy. They also provide a soy sauce dipping sauce that pairs really well with the fried chicken. You absolutely HAVE to try the crispy fried chicken at Top Restaurant! It's the best I've ever had - you won't be disappointed!

Oseng Oseng Fried Rice and Crispy Fried Chicken

Parking was plentiful at Top Restaurant; after all, it's in a medium sized plaza, and there weren't many people around during dinner time. At the time of visit, there was no dine-in service, and all orders were takeout only. We had their Crispy Fried Chicken and Oseng Oseng Fried Rice. In terms of quantity, they definitely checked that box, enough for two meals each! The crispy fried chicken was good, though a tad on the plain side without sauce. Their oseng oseng was made better by their chili sauce. Initially, it looked like an amazing meal. However, a few bites in and the rice to protein portions were very rice heavy, almost an inch deep of rice. If you enjoy rice, you'll love it! However, if you're looking for a more balanced meal, you may want to consider another option.

So I saw this place on IG and really wanted to check them out. Too bad they didn't have indoor seating nor outdoor seating cause I think the juices from the chicken kinda dried out by the time I got to the park. It was still crispy but a little dry. It also came with a soy based chili sauce that helped it a bit. I'm sad that you can't order all dark meat but I did get it predominantly dark except for two pieces out of six. It was a bit pricey but I can check off my bucket list that I tried it. If I'm in the area again and craving fried chicken I'd go back. Service was quick even though others were waiting for their meals. I did place my order while driving there so we just waited three minutes after paying. No place to sit and eat. They did have seats but no tables. Order to go only.

This place has been on my to try list for along time, and I was finally able to try it recently. I ordered their fried chicken, short rib bbq plate, and two spam musubis. For all of these items, the check was just under $50 (inflation amirite?). I inhaled my spam musubi with egg on the ride back home, and quickly opened up and ate the short rib plate and fried chicken to try to eat it while it was hot. The food in my opinion was delicious. The fried chicken is still not my absolute number 1 fried chicken of all time, but it was still good. A little too oily for me, but then again...it is fried chicken.

Go for the fried chicken. Amazingly crispy and chicken is marinated. Only offers 3 options. Chicken and fried rice, chicken and macaroni salad or just chicken. All options are $15.15. You get 6 pieces of chicken vs. 4 pieces if you don't get sides. Located in mini mall strip on Colorado blvd near PCC. No seating so prepared to to take Togo only.

When I was in Pasadena this spot was my go to. Love the katsu and pork. The fried chicken is also amazing. However this spot is only take out. Service is great, very kind and helpful.

The best fried chicken bar none! So crispy and full of flavor. Very low key; takeaway corner, no indoor seating available. Staff are friendly and polite. Seems to be best to call in advance so it's ready to pick up and then enjoy in a nearby park. Can't wait to come back.

It's like they used half the seasoning they were supposed to use. Ono has way better food. The Indonesian fried rice is soo underwhelming. I don't think I've ever had Indonesian fried rice lack flavor but in honestly all of the food lacked flavor. Never coming back here. I don't know how it has such high ratings. Maybe when they first opened it was good? But for sure it's not that great at the moment I got my food. Quite disappointing especially when you're hungry

ONLY TOGO Crispy fried chicken was so good! Flavorful and crispy. The sauce was good. I will definitely come back again! Decent amount for the price! Cashier super friendly as well! Told me not to close the cap and the food stayed amazing after my one hour drive home.

$18 BBQ pork fried rice

Worst fried rice I've ever had. Flavorless dry rice. To add injury to insult this cost me $18. For rice and processed meat ‍ Said it would be ten minutes when I ordered, was closer to twenty. Should have realized this was setting the tone for my experience.

I think I saw this place pop up on my social media which is how I got on my radar. I signed up for the newsletter and did a pre-order when they did a pop-up. I don't have a lot of experience with Bali/ Indonesian food, but this was such a fun, novel experience and the food was really tasty. I ordered nasi bungkus, the kueh lapis, and the es cendol. From their website, the nasi bungus contained the following. STEAMED RICE Fragrant lemongrass rice made with coconut milk, pandan leaves, and galangal SAYUR URAB Long bean and bean sprout dish with toasted coconut and kencur COCONUT CHICKEN CURRY Pasture-raised chicken, slow-cooked for six hours MOTHER-IN-LAW EGG Hard-boiled egg marinated in tamari and topped with chili paste TEMPE OREK Fried soy bean cake in a sweet and spicy glaze SAMBAL GORENG Spicy Thai chilies, shallots, and garlic, fried and finished with coarse salt KACANG BALI Bali-style salted peanuts ABON BABI Traditional dried pork garnish The kueh lapis is a fun colorful, coconutty dessert that is nice, thick and chewy. The cendol is a nice desserty drink made of coconut milk, pandan jelly, red bean, and diced jackfruit. The drink reminds me of something similar in the Vietnamese culture. I was a fan. The desert was beautiful as well, and had such a fun look to it. I like the chewiness, and it was fun the peel the layers. The nasi bungkus itself was a nice combination of flavors and textures. I bought some of that chili stuff in a jar and added some extra on top. I liked that there was a kick, but not so much where I started sweating. The spice was a nice level. I got a little excited and ordered a lot of food and was totally full by the time I finished my items. Pick up itself was really easy. After you pre-order early in the week when they do a pop-up, there's a time window where you pick up - and in this case it was Friday afternoon - night. When I got there, they were friendly, and just directed me towards the counter, where they did final prep to give me my food. They even gave me some reheating instructions just in case. Super friendly and you can tell they put a lot of care into their product. I hope they have all the success in the world and would like to order from them again.

They serve authentic Indonesian foods that remind me of Jakarta. Today I was really craving Ayam Goreng Kremes, because it's been many years since the last time I had it. Nasi Ayam Kremes is a combination of Indonesian style fried chicken, white rice, perkedel (fried potato pattie), fried tofu, fried tempeh, and sayur asem soup. The chicken is deep fried after it's been cooked in herbs and fully marinated. Very flavorful as I can really taste the different herbs and spices. Over the fried chicken is a generous serving of savory crunchy crumbs. There's also a side of medium spicy house sambal. I would recommend adding some kecap manis (Indonesian sweet soy sauce) and use this as dipping sauce. The half fried chicken is rather small, about the size of a Cornish hen. The soup is pretty good, even though I am not a fan of sayur asem soup. This tamarind-based soup contains green beans, chayote, corn rounds, and peanuts. The deep fried marinated tofu and tempeh are so yummy! They truly remind me of the good ol' days living in Indonesia, as they are the staple foods of the locals. The perkedel is just passable, possibly because it is served cold. Unfortunately, it isn't as crispy as it should be. The restaurant is small. Other than the kitchen crew, only one person was doing all the work. Good and very friendly service. My order did take a long time, however. If you're in a rush, you may want to eat somewhere else. Indo Bistro is the place where you really want to "santai" which means relax, take it easy. Indo Bistro is an Indonesian restaurant, mini-mart hybrid. They sell a variety of pre-packaged Indonesian snacks, shelf stable groceries, and also freshly-made market snacks, such as pastel, lemper, bakcang, rempeyek, etc. I also tried their savory snack Lemper, which is sticky rice stuffed with shredded chicken that's been cooked in coconut milk. After it is wrapped in fresh banana leaf, it is then char-grilled. Their lemper is really good, but very greasy. It's basically food and lip gloss in one. BOGO Lol Next time when I'm craving more Indonesian food, I'll be coming back to Indo Bistro. They have really good chicken satays.

COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty big since they share a parking lot with many other establishments. The parking spot sizes vary depending on where you park. There shouldn't be any issues finding a spot. Food: I ordered an Indonesian fried rice and pork satay skewers with rice. The Indonesian fried rice was really delicious. The Indonesian fried rice had some greens, eggs, garlic, dried shallots, dried onions, raw onions, green onion, chicken, and meatball. All cooked to perfection. There were a good amount of chicken and meatballs in the dish. Both were soft, juicy, tender, and full of flavors. I love that the hot rice was slightly crunchy. It reminded me of eating rice from a hot stone bowl. For the pork satay skewers, I was lowkey disappointed that they didn't have lamb this time. I originally ordered lamb satay skewers, but they told me they didn't have it so they asked me to order a different satay skewer. I opted for pork satay skewers. This dish normally comes with rice cakes, but I'm not a fan of the texture of rice cakes, so I asked them to give me plain white rice instead. They happily obliged and gave me a bowl of white hot and steaming white rice along with 5 pork satay skewers. The marinade for the pork satay skewers had hints of garlic, lemon, honey, sweet soy sauce, and peanut sauce. An extremely delicious marinade for the pork satay skewers. The grilled pork itself was very aromatic, tender, juicy, and flavorful. So incredibly umami! A good portion for the price point for both dishes. I do agree with other Yelpers that I felt extremely thirsty after eating both dishes. Perhaps they need to tone it down a bit on the MSG. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, happy, welcoming, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum. Also, right when you walk into the restaurant, there is a very cute and small market. You can get some delicious Indonesian snacks and other things while you wait for your food. I highly recommend coming here and giving this lovely mom and pop Indonesian restaurant a try. Sooooo fricken good!
