We were greeted upon entering the restaurant. It was me and my hubby's first time here. Upon entry you would see a mini mart of some Indo snacks and groceries. As you walk straight ahead you'll arrive at the cashier and also find a variety of pre-made Indonesian foods and snacks to choose from... SONG of the DAY to play along to this YELP REVIEW: EASY on ME by ADELE... Go easy on me, Indo Bistro I was still deciding Didn't get the chance to Look at all the goodies around me I had no time to choose What I chose to EAT So go easy on me... NASI BUNGKUS: 10/10My husband ordered this really flavorful and spicy rice dish that was WRAPPED up in a BANANA LEAF and it had veggies and a boiled egg. I'm not sure what the name was but, the portion was HUGE and there was a lot of MEAT inside!!!... AMBIANCE: Very warm and home comfort food like atmosphere. A whole in the wall and a hidden gem!!! SERVICE: Very friendly and welcoming!! PARKING: Plenty but, VERY BUSY!!! ROCK ON INDO BISTRO!!!! We will definitely be back!!!

The New cashier is very friendly and welcoming, and the food is delicious! I ordered the risoles, Fish cake with extra noodle, pork satay, and sweet BBQ chicken -- everything was excellent!

The Satay Pork comes with 5 skewers for $15. Amount was good compared to the soup dish. Taste wise, it was on the sweeter side and kinda dry. It reminded me of pork chop cut into pieces and put onto a skewer. The Soto Betawi comes in a very small bowl and costs $14. This is overpriced for the amount of meat in the dish. Tastes ok, wouldn't order it again.

I would return and be willing to try other menu items. Food: we got the Mie veggie, krokets, and nasi bungkus padang. The Mie veggie portion was small but had great flavor. We requested it spicy. The nasi bungkus Padang (#19) didn't wow me. However I'd still experiment and try other items. Ambiance: casual setting Large parking lot. Shared with multiple other restaurants.

    Kwe Tiauw + Gado Gado

Took my mama here on a weekday after work, I was craving some Kwe Tiauw. Went in and was greeted by a lovely lady at the counter. Here, you order at the front and find a seat where they will serve you. I ordered the Kwe Tiauw and it was very tasty, they give you sambal and some krupuk to have on the side. Gado Gado was also very good, that is my moms favorite dish here. It was rather slow but I'm sure a lot of people are over at the food hall that was once an indonesian food court. The ambiance is nice, you can also shop some indonesian snacks here as well since it doubles up as an indo market. Overall a good spot tucked off in this plaza for indonesian food. Will definitely come back if I am craving a taste of home.

We requested meat only for the soto betawi because I don't eat tripe. The meat is a little bit hard to chew but they're very generous with the amount of beef in the soup. The mi goreng jawa is ok, slightly sweet but not as dry as we expect it to be. Service is very good, we were served cold water as soon as we're seated at the table. There's qr code menu on the wall next to the table. Huge parking lot outside but so hard to find an empty parking spot due to the location and it's a Saturday evening!

I finally decided to dine in at Indo Bistro and glad I tried it out. They absolutely offer a variety of Indonesian dishes and I wanted to try them all! For this visit we only tried the nasi bungkus padang. Nasi Bungkus Padang ( Padangnese-Style Banana Leaf Wrapped Rice ) $17.50 Padangnese-style banana leaf-wrapped steamed rice served with beef rendang, crispy beef, chicken curry, egg, and kale vegetable ; comes with green and red chili sauce. I enjoyed this dish very much. Our absolute fave was the crispy beef it gave it a nice crunchy texture with each bite. The rice had a hint of coconut flavor which I enjoyed. The green and red chili sauce were perfect for the dish. I will come back and try the other dishes. Service: fast, you walk in, place your order, pay and find a table. Ambiance: great, when we went the guests seemed to be all families per table

Came in on a Wednesday at 11:55am. Not busy at all, no one else in the restaurant besides me. Vibe: small restaurant with 10 ish tables that can sit up to 4 ppl each. There's also a mini market inside which looks to have Indonesian snacks! Service: the workers were kind and attentive. They do speak little English as other yelpers have mentioned. I ordered my food to go but decided to eat in and they offered me a cup of water to go with my meal. Also since I was the only one here my order came out in exactly 10 minutes. Food: I went basic and ordered Nasi Goreng Spesial which came out to $14.99 after credit card and fees. A little on the pricey side but it's okay. The food was really tasty. I'll definitely be back to try their Indonesian rice dishes like the Nasi Kuming )

Came back to try these: # 19 Nasi bungkus padang - delicious # 37 Nasi ayam kremes - fried chicken w/crunchy bits. The chicken was moist inside, very tasty. The tamarind veggie soup compliments the dish very well. Love the sambal (chili paste)! # 14 Nasi goreng teri pete - very tasty with crunchy bits from the anchovy # 33 Bihun goreng veggie, nice noodle dish!

Good food and there are so many varieties. We ordered the Ayam Goreng Kremes and Bakmi Rica rica and rujak cinjur. All were good. The ice cendol is also good and has nangka. I highly recommend this restaurant

When we went, the owners and workers were busy fulfilling a catering order so perhaps they didn't notice us come in and awkwardly stand to the side. Other people were standing around as well, and it looked like they were waiting for their to-go orders. A bulk of the space is taken up by Asian products on shelves. So I guess this is a restaurant and a mini-grocery in one. We ordered the nasi bugkung padang and the nasi kuning. I preferred the latter as it was beef slathered in sauce on top of rice. So delicious. The bugkung panang was on the dry side and didn't have that much meat it in. It was flavorful though. They handed us glasses, utensils and our own water container. But the spout of the water container was a little bit dirty. I had to wipe it down myself. I'm sure this was an oversight. Perhaps because their clientele mostly orders canned drinks. All in all, this is a good place to eat at in a pinch. You have to be patient though, as they speak little English, so they won't be able to answer a lot of questions with detail, such as whether or not a dish is more sweet than savory, for example. They are kind and attentive, and they didn't rush us to order.

Is this place still open? I heard the food court location has closed down.

They're open now in the same plaza, just not inside the food court. They're occupying one of the space in the same HK plaza.

    Is this place halal?

No. They don't use halal meat, but they don't sell pork. They only sell chicken, lamb, fish, and beef.

It can get a little pricey if you order a bunch of dishes with a group but it is completely worth it for the quality you are getting. One nice bonus is their loyalty program. If you spend over 50 dollars they give you a stamp card and once you collect ten stamps you get around 20 dollars off or a free dish. Definitely a good incentive to keep coming back. The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor seating available with limited capacity. They are sanitizing / cleaning in between customers. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty big since they share a parking lot with many other establishments. The parking spot sizes vary depending on where you park. There shouldn't be any issues finding a spot. Food: I ordered an Indonesian fried rice and pork satay skewers with rice. The Indonesian fried rice was really delicious. The Indonesian fried rice had some greens, eggs, garlic, dried shallots, dried onions, raw onions, green onion, chicken, and meatball. All cooked to perfection. There were a good amount of chicken and meatballs in the dish. Both were soft, juicy, tender, and full of flavors. I love that the hot rice was slightly crunchy. It reminded me of eating rice from a hot stone bowl. For the pork satay skewers, I was lowkey disappointed that they didn't have lamb this time. I originally ordered lamb satay skewers, but they told me they didn't have it so they asked me to order a different satay skewer. I opted for pork satay skewers. This dish normally comes with rice cakes, but I'm not a fan of the texture of rice cakes, so I asked them to give me plain white rice instead. They happily obliged and gave me a bowl of white hot and steaming white rice along with 5 pork satay skewers. The marinade for the pork satay skewers had hints of garlic, lemon, honey, sweet soy sauce, and peanut sauce. An extremely delicious marinade for the pork satay skewers. The grilled pork itself was very aromatic, tender, juicy, and flavorful. So incredibly umami! A good portion for the price point for both dishes. I do agree with other Yelpers that I felt extremely thirsty after eating both dishes. Perhaps they need to tone it down a bit on the MSG. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, happy, welcoming, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum. Also, right when you walk into the restaurant, there is a very cute and small market. You can get some delicious Indonesian snacks and other things while you wait for your food. I highly recommend coming here and giving this lovely mom and pop Indonesian restaurant a try. Sooooo fricken good!
