Honestly guys, can't go wrong here. Food is so authentic and the service is fast. Not sure why they have low reviews lol.

I've been coming here for many years, ever since a friend first introduced me. The restaurant has expanded since then, but it feels like they could use an even bigger space now, it's always packed! Luckily, I've never had to wait long for a table. The owner is super friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. I pretty much order the same dishes every time: the Sizzling Kang Kung and the Sambal Goreng with Tofu both absolutely delicious and full of flavor. This place may be a little hole-in-the-wall, but it's definitely a hidden gem. Service can be on the slower side since there's usually just one server handling everything, so I recommend being patient. It's worth it for the food. If you're a fan of Indonesian cuisine, this is a must-try restaurant!

Java Spice serves up some solid authentic Indonesian food. My wife is Indonesian so I let her and her mom order all the good dishes. Here are my thoughts on each. Nasi Bungkus (Wrapped Rice) - Saw this on the weekend special so gave it a try. I've had this better at other Indonesian restaurants but this was pretty decent overall. Comes with a heavy portion of rice so if you're in need of a rice dish this is a great one. Meats were decent and overall a solid pass. (4/5) Sate Babi - LOVED THIS, honestly one of the best I've ever had. Flavors were on point, very strong and had a nice char taste. Thing is its $18 for 5 pieces which is a STEEP price but I will admit it was darn good! (5/5) Ayam Kalasan (1/2 portion) - So this chicken literally only came with the chicken, no rice or sides. Honestly the best Indonesian chicken I've tried as well. SUPER tender, the skin flavor wise was strong and crispy. Just wish it came with rice but in terms of how it taste this is a winner. (5/5) Overall this place isn't the cheapest Indonesian spot around but the food is certainly good. Got to come back just for the chicken and skewers! Parking - Not the best since its shared lot in a area with tons of traffic and people.

This is the spot for nasi bokus or lump rice. This is a delicious meal that I love over the years. I known the owner for 25 years. The food is consistent and good. I love the ambiance and the service. Great Wall painting and decent spot.

Java Spice is an Indonesian restaurant highly recommended by locals, offering a truly authentic and different dining experience. The highlight is their special Nasi Gudeg, a uniquely sweet and savory jackfruit stew that provides a genuine taste of traditional Javanese cuisine. Beyond the Nasi Gudeg, the menu excels with its perfectly balanced Sweet Savory Mixed Rice and exceptionally well-marinated, succulent pork skewers. Overall, Java Spice delivers on its promise of authentic flavor, making for a memorable and lovely visit.

This place is located in the Yes Plaza, which is a convenient location. Their food has good flavor and a wide variety to choose from.

    Ayam half chicken. Fantastic!

I've had Indonesian food before but never Ayam chicken. Wow it is so good Super juicy and tender. Good comes out quick The sauce is out of this world delicious. It's got a little kick with a sweetness. Will have to return to explore the menu.

Nice place for a relaxed and casual hanging out with friends on a Sunday morning. Service is fast and efficient. The food is good but in my opinion it lacked authenticity to be called Indonesian cuisine. The chicken in nasi campur is very tasty and tender. I don't like the taste of the soup in the lontong komplit, this could be just a matter of preference. The chicken noodle is also just okay, edible but nothing special. I do like the es teler, it's sweet and refreshing. Lots of avocado bits and jackfruits.

Picked up two dishes on Saturday 4/18/26 Kankung and beef rendang. Finally had the two items today 4/20/2026 and it was unbelievable tastelessness's and over priced. Can't believe we paid $17 for the small dish of the beef rendang. Will not recommend eating at this restaurant as it's over priced and the food has no taste at all.

We came about 30mins before closing. Luckily they still took our order. We got the fried rice, fried fish, kangkung stir fry, and es campur. All of them are delicious. Very authentic Indonesian flavors. Love that they also sell some snacks near the register. I would def return and try other dishes. Friendly staff, and quick attentive service.

Probably the most authentic Indonesia food in the area. You have to come in the weekend to try this dish and it is amazing! There's chicken, beef, egg and various veggies inside mixed with coconut flavored cooked rice. Spicy hot sauce inside and it is realllllly spicy, so move it to the side if you're not a fan. We had 2 of these for 3 people and it was well enough. If you have leftovers then they just give you a bag so you just close up the banana leaf for take out. Staff is friendly and a try mom and pop shop that you have to come try.

From the outside, it didn't look like it would be spacious inside, but upon entry, I had a very nice impression of it. Felt very comfy and cozy. Love the simplicity of the seating and cool decor. Soft yellow lighting made the space whimsically romantic. Super nice and friendly staff from start to end. We were greeted and seated right away. No hardcopy menu. Scan to order made easy. We ordered quite a bit for 3 people. We did well actually. Each dish came out one after another. I appreciate the quick food delivery. OMG, every single item was on point! Presentation was enticing. Deep flavors shined through at every tasty and delicious bite. Prices were astonishingly reasonable for the great portions. Staff and service was amazing. My eldest daughter dropped her chopticks. Before we can wave down the servers, the gentleman staff was already at our table with a clean pair of chopsticks. Now that's what I call service at its best. Thank you! I fell in love with the amazing food, attentive staff, exceptional service, and elegantly simple ambiance. Perfect dining experience like no other. We'll be back for more tasty goodness. Thank you MIAN! What we ordered: 1 Cold Appetizers Combo - 6 different varieties, very light and appetizing, great healthy choice! 2 Braised Pork Noodles - both my daughters swooped this bowl down fast, pork belly was tender, noodles had a bouncy texture, broth flavor was top-notch savory, SO GOOD! Highly recommend. 1 Chengdu Zajiang Noodles - I'm not a big Sichuan fan, but this dish I like. Perfectly seasoned minced pork plus fried egg and bouncy chewy noodles mixed in bold, spicy, and savory sauce. YUM! 1 Pork Dumplings (12) - huge dumplings with flavorful pork filling, best bang for your buck choice! 1 Pot Stickers (6) - good size, lightly pan-fried, wished it was a bit more pan-fried that would give it more crispiness on the outside, still a good choice! 1 Toothpick Chicken - lots of small tender chicken chunks, got a spicy kick to it, yes it comes with toothpicks for use for grabbing your chicken, loved the fun concept! 1 Steamed Egg & Minced Pork - steamed egg was very smooth and jiggly, minced pork was flavored well, perfect combo! 1 Sugar Glutinous Rice Cake (6) - nice and chewy, brown sugar was not overly sweet, highly recommend for dessert! 1 Mung Bean Soup (cold) - I can taste a light touch of mung bean, but not enough for me to say WOW, glad I tried it

I got the premium beef hot pot with potato powder and knife-cut noodles. The noodles are both on the firm side. I thought the potato powder noodles were chewier than the knife-cut ones. Thankfully, they weren't too chewy for my liking. I got non-spicy broth and added a little bit of chili oil provided on the table. Served at a high temperature, it was quite savory and a little salty. The beef slices were thin and filling. I noticed other ingredients, such as fish balls, peanuts, quail eggs, baby bok choy, mushrooms, and tofu. Ordering is easy with an option to choose between English and Chinese text via your phone. While the staff spoke Mandarin to me, the translated menu bridged the language gap. The wait for our food wasn't too long, and I paid at the front for our food. My order (for a minor added cost) also included a self-serve beverage and bean curd rolls with enoki mushrooms. I just had to grab my drink from a display refrigerator, and I got an iced jasmine tea (Kang Shi Fu). Service is minimal, but the woman who greeted us cleaned our table as we had sat down. The ambience was mostly quiet, but the music volume had shortly increased a lot for some reason.
