Service was a miss the recent time we came, not enough plates and cups for our party of 3. Our food came at different times and the tea in the pot was very weak. The thai tea drink we ordered came mid meal and the turnip cake came sooo late and in a to go container. They also got our order wrong by giving us some baos which we didn't touch and had them take back and they tried to charge us for it. All the food tasted good though, the egg tarts are delicious! It's quiet in the restaurant but quite a few people came and went for to go orders.

Came to Dim Sum King Master for a lunch break since I was craving some dim sum. I had ordered some food to go once with my wife for the Shu Mai and the Shrimp Har Gow and it was tasty. The location wasn't too busy at all at the time and I could sit wherever I pleased. They have a decent amount of booths and regular table seating. There's a lot of action going on during business hours, with walk ins, dine ins and delivery orders. The menu offers different menu tiers for their dim sum. The staff also offered complimentary hot tea. I ordered some Shu Mai, Shrimp Har Gow and Rice Noodle Roll with Shrimp. To not the Shu Mai has 5pc and other dim sum spots might serve 3 or 4pc on their orders. Each item came out at different times. As far as the Rice Noodle Roll it wasn't my favorite and one I might not order again. The Shu Mai and Har Gow were all up to par and delicious. Overall, service and food were fine. I'd order here again, but probably for to-go orders.

Background On Visit: After deciding not to play pickleball, I decided that I wanted to have breakfast. My two options were to have Portos or Dim Sum King Master. I guess I chose dim sum king master, because of less wait time and that parking wouldn't be an issue. Stage Of Establishment: It's still it's soft opening stage even though it's been open for some time already. Credit Cards: They're accepted Restroom: They have a restroom. Location/Parking: Located in the same plaza as Haven City Market. Decent amount can be found in the shared lot. Ambiance/Decor: Chill ambiance with modern furnishings. Service: Service was good. The staffers were nice and friendly. Food Of Choice: Decided on the breakfast special which included the preserved egg and salted pork congee and a side for $1 more. I chose the steamed turnip cake. Congee was flavorful and the steamed turnip cake was quite delicious. Dim Sum King Master For Thought: Would like patronize the shop and try their roasted duck.

This place to be a dim sum king and master. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. Lots of people so service is a bit slow. They're family owned and operated and got some awesome deals. I got their xiu mai, sesame balls, beef chow fun, cha shao rice, honey baked cha shao bao, and cha shao bolo bao to try. Can you tell I like cha shao? Anywaysss Their xiu mai was MASSIVE, perfectly juicy, bouncy, and umami. The sesame balls had a crisp nutty exterior with a chewy mochi interior and had plenty of sweet red bean filling. The beef chow fun had bouncy noodles, good wok hey, and lots of meat but could use a bit more salt. The cha shao rice could've used more meat but what there was was super tender, flavorful, umami, perfectly sweet and savory. The honey baked chashao bao had more of that amazing cha shao inside with a nice chewy, pillowy, sweet, bready bun. Same with the cha shao bolo but I liked it more cuz it had an extra flakey, buttery, sweet cookie top that made the contrast between the sweet bun and savory cha shao even better. Overall this place is pretty good. Xiu mai $5.68 Sesame balls $5.38 Beef chow fun $13.99 Cha shao rice $9.99 Honey baked cha shao bao $5.38 Cha shao bolo bao $5.68 $46.10

This may be an old post or a current situation. Either way, it's not a good experience.

We wanted to try some place new. Saw DSKM and it was pretty empty--only one other couple having dinner. Sat and orders hot tea, water, and Thai iced tea. Thai tea and cups for hot tea came pretty quickly. I figured they were making the hot tea? Server came back and took our order. We ordered fried rice and a few dim sum plates. Shu mai came almost immediately. Then 10 mins later the fried rice. Hot tea never came. I reminded the server for the hot tea and glass of water (water was needed to cut the Thai tea due to sugar content.) So we're now maybe 20 mins in. The subsequent items arrived along with the water and hot tea. We NEVER saw our server again. My guess is that he went to the back to help make our order--who knows? By this time, other customers came in for pick up and to eat in. We needed more drinks and utensils. The female server stood at the table next to us speaking in Chinese (guessing). She never even looked at us so I couldn't get her attention. I ended up getting up and getting my own water refill and utensils. Then I noticed a sign that says people are in training. I figured maybe this was why service was so poor. After dinner, I needed a box and the check. We sat for about 15 mins and saw no one. We didn't know if we go to the register to pay or they bring the check. There was no one to ask. We could have just walked out and they wouldn't have known. I pull out my phone and CALL the restaurant! The phone goes unanswered TWICE! I called a third time and the female answered. I say, "we are sitting at the corner table and need the check. So I come to the register or will you bring the check?" She is so confused and asks if I'm outside!!! I asked again for the check and she passed the phone to another person. The gentleman apologized and quickly came out to bring the check! My friend and I each put our credit cards on the check tray. He takes it, brings it back, and charged the entire meal on ONE CARD. I just don't get it. Food was okay but considering the horrible service, we won't be back. If they are truly training staff, I hope they get it together soon.

Great space and lots of yummy options! Highly recommend for group settings and they do catering too! Dimsum catering, they don't really have this in the bay area. Also, this is a small fam business, love supporting local. Service decently fadt with orders. The food tastes like a warm hug from grandma, which I love. Very cozy. I'd come back again.

Shrimp rice roll. Not like the front picture of the menu, when I had asked if it would be and the waiter said, "yes".

Service here is exceptionally poor. The silent, but heard, look of anticipation as everyone waited to get the attention of service could not be ignored. I wasn't able to order their special even though I had asked to order almost immediately, due to it being past 11 am. The waiter was a young man, eager, but reserved, fully responsible for the entire dining area. This was an almost impossible feat. Well, we received our food, it tasted somewhat off. Perhaps it was a little old, tasting somewhat gamy and sour tasting. I would not revisit again. They are offering a free beverage, however, with an order over $20, which may soften the blow for some. The Thai tea was good, but not worth another visit.

A solid choice if you're craving dim sum. Dim Sum master isn't like your traditional dim sum restaurant with the ladies pushing the carts around. Here you order at the counter: either for dine in or to go. Some items are made fresh, and some are ready on the steamer. The food here is pretty solid as I tend to order the steamed rice roll with bbq pork, sticky rice with chicken & mushroom inside a lotus leaf, and the bean curd with pork. The restaurant isn't too large but it is in a large plaza with plenty of parking. Definitely give them a try if you're in the area!

My recent online takeout order from Dim Sum King Master in West Covina was ehh could be better. The convenience factor was a definite plus the online ordering system allowed me to set a pickup time, and my food was hot and ready right on schedule. I ordered a classic spread of chicken feet, beef noodle rolls, egg tarts, shu mai, baked BBQ pork buns, and beef chow fun (dry style). The egg tarts were a definite win; they had a nice flaky crust and a filling that wasn't overly sweet. The shu mai, baked buns, and chow fun were all solid and what you'd expect. However, a couple of dishes fell a bit short. The chicken feet were disappointingly firm and lacked the tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture I was looking for. Similarly, the beef noodle rolls felt a bit skimpy on the beef, with way too much green onions overpowering the dish. Overall while some items were great, others could use some improvement. I'd like to try their other dishes to get a feel for what other close to authentic dim sum I can get.

This small takeout/dine in dim sum spot in west covina have some tasty dishes. We were craving some dimsum , but didn't want to go to the usual full service version , so we stop by this location. You order from the menu, with picture, and they will bring it out. Comes out steam hot, with your usual selection, as well as congee, soy sauce noodle and the Chinese donut . There's a few combo style so if you have friends , pick a few and you will have selection. Portions are nice . Prices are very reasonable . Came by on another occasion already .

I think it's a mom and pop shop, everyone's pretty friendly and the prices are about the same as anywhere else. It's a good place for something quick if you live in the neighborhood. The menu for dim sum is also limited compared to other spots but there are a few popular selections. They also have main dishes like fried rice and roasted meats. Out of every thing I ordered I only liked the shu mai and pork buns. I'm not sure if the food was made in house or pre bought/ machine manufactured. The flavors were just ok and I would only come back if I needed a quick fix because I'm craving dim sum and didn't want to drive out too far. With that being said I'd only come back for the 2 items I really enjoyed and it's definitely on my takeout list for those 2 items.

Dim Sum King is located outside Haven city on the right side corner of the parking lot. I'm so thrilled we have a good dim sum restaurant in this area. I feel like I traveled & eating yummy street food in Hongkong. Everything on the menu is delicious. This restaurant is clean and service is good & fast. Come & experience something new.

    Mmmm delicious chow fun noodles!

The Har Gow and Shiu Mai were notably large and high quality. My personal favorite is the Steam Sausage & Sticky Bun. It's a traditional Hong Kong dish that is becoming rare even in HK, so finding it here was a treat. This place is a true hidden gem in West Covina. Food is stellar and of value (6 XLB for $8!), portion sizes are good, and everything is piping hot! The soup dumplings have soo much soup IMO beating out Mama Lu's which is what I would consider to be their nearest competitor. The spicy shrimp wontons are also good, but I think the flavors don't quite hit as well - big pieces of shrimp are enclosed though! The Peppered Beef Udon was great the beef pieces were tender and juicy and great textured noodles. Onion pancakes are a staple along w/cucumber salad (not pictured) , and their pan fried pot stickers are my favorite along with the sauce it comes with. Sooo crispy. Pro tip: If you are a first timer/came from far and waited a while don't let them seat you at the bar the experience is not as nice by far (I saw someone say it's like paying to stare at a wall - I concur) Being seated at a booth or table will allow you the full experience but I do understand there's only a limited amount of room in the bustling place.

The udon was decent, but nothing memorable. The xiao long bao was also just okay, which was surprising since that's usually a standout at dumpling-focused spots. On a positive note, the staff were great, very friendly and helpful, and most spoke Cantonese, which I appreciated. Ordering is done through a QR code on your phone, which is convenient if you prefer minimal contact, though I personally still like having a server take our order. Unfortunately, that ended up being the highlight of the experience. We ordered a few dim sum dishes since they were nearing the end of dim sum service, but we mainly came for a family-style meal. The pineapple sweet and sour pork ribs were the first dish to arrive, and they were disappointing -- mostly bones with barely any meat. We also had to ask for steamed rice at least four times while other dishes kept arriving with no rice in sight. The deep-fried tofu was decent and pretty much what we expected -- nothing special, but still a comfort favorite. The French-style beef with mushrooms was actually very tasty, and the beef chow fun was okay. The biggest issue was with the walnut shrimp. We specifically asked for the nuts on the side because some people in our group have nut allergies, but the dish came out covered in walnuts, while the sauce was on the side instead. That mistake, combined with the long wait for rice and the overall attitude from the waitstaff, made the service feel really careless and frustrating. What made it more disappointing is that we've been here before for Chinese New Year and other holidays, and even when the restaurant was extremely busy, the service had always been much better. This visit just felt off all around. The food was mediocre at best, the service was lacking, and overall it was a very disappointing experience.
