10 Won Bread w/ Custard Filling ($5 - sliced open)
    Ian A.

I ordered the King Steamed Meat Bao ($9.14 - 3pc) and 10 Won Bread ($5). They tasted fresh and filling. Although these items did not taste spectacular, there's an admirable beauty with its satisfying texture and freshness. I arrived at Cr8zy Bao (West Covina) on Tuesday (around 9:15AM). This location requested 10 extra minutes to setup. After perusing its adjacent market, I returned. Cr8zy Bao (West Covina) was ready for business at 9:25AM. Staff is courteous and professional. Staff (name on receipt - Yaya) is helpful and hardworking. Yaya answered all my questions, and Yaya moved quickly. I ordered the King Steamed Meat Bao ($9.14 - 3pc) and 10 Won Bread ($5). The food was ready in 14 minutes and 54 seconds. The 10 Won Bread has three filling choices: mozzarella cheese, custard, or red bean. I selected the custard filling. The 10 Won Bread had a thin, crisp, and crunchy outer crust; its similar to a finely toasted waffle. Its inner layer is very soft and spongey. Breaking apart this toasted pastry, hot & gooey custard cream bursts forward. I enjoyed the sensation and mild-sweetness of this sticky, flowing liquid. The King Steamed Meat Bao also tasted freshly made. It avoids being dry; rather, its bun is supple, buoyant, and springy. Its filling tastes fresh and slightly savory. Its mashed meat and diced glass noodles add a pleasant bounce. Although the filling lacked any memorable taste, I appreciated how the filling wasn't salty. The King Steamed Meat Bao's filling reminded me of freshly mashed meatball. Regarding ambiance, it's nonexistent at Cr8zy Bao (West Covina). The location is a food stand in a market. Thankfully, its counters and floors are clean. Also, I felt safe since a security guard is stationed by the entrance. Fortunately, there's plenty of indoor and outdoor tables to use since it's connected to the Haven City Market. Bright, bubbly music appeared around 10AM; however, it was silent prior. Overall, Cr8zy Bao (West Covina) is a good experience. If you like baos and dumplings, this location is a solid choice. The portions are filling; the food is fresh; and its cooks put visible care into their items. 4.5 out of 5

    3. King Sweet Red Bean Bao

1K review is for one of my favorite K food places It is one of the many food stalls in the Haven City Market building but closer to the GW grocery entrance. I love their steamed red bean and meat baos. The red bean bun was one of the best I have tasted. Their dumplings were good too. I couldn't wait till the weather cooled down, so I braved the hot summer and ordered the beef rib soup. It was the best and worst decision I made. The best because the beef was tender and the soup so flavorful. It was served steaming in a hot stone bowl. Thus the worst decision as I was sweating like crazy. Luckily I had my cordless fan to the rescue. The meal came with a bowl of rice, and banchan (mini side dishes). I'd definitely go back to try their cold noodle soup. Service was friendly. Cafeteria-style seating is available. Parking can be tricky during rush hour, especially weekends.

Food: Spicy Sauce Cold Noodles was not too spicy and nice chewy noodles; Kimchi Dumplings were also tasty and not too spicy Service: friendly and made-to-order service Design: shop is located inside the GW Supermarket; nice large screen graphics Overall: if you want good Korean noodles, soups, dumplings and baos, then check out this place

Super excited to have crazy bao opening up near home! It's located the entrance of the supermarket and toward the back of the haven city market. The place is mainly for take out as everything they have is either pre made or in take out containers. We got the meat and chive bun and red bean bun. The buns are good and they give you a lot of filling which is a plus! Service is a hit and miss. When we arrived there weren't anyone at the counter and it took a while for them to take our orders. When the orders are done the little pager they gave us didn't buzz and we had to go and ask if that is our order on the front counter.

Cr8zy bao sure has a unique store name that I just adore. It's located inside the GW supermarket rather than part of the Haven City Market. I have only tried the 10 won coin cheese filling bread and the pizza bao. I am giving them an extra star because of the uniqueness of these items. 1. 10 won coin bread with cheese filling (5/5) You can choose either cheese or custard. We opted for the cheese filling and it was super cheesy with a good cheese-pull. The outside was light, yet crispy and the inside is just a delicious, melty, gooey cheese. The cheese has a good cheesy flavor. 2. Pizza Bao (4.5/5) It doesn't really taste 100% like pizza, but it does have notes of margherita pizza flavoring mixed with the texture of the traditional beef bao. The bun itself was nice and fluffy. The filling I believe is pork meat with tomato sauce, green onions and glass noddles. Overall, not bad and worth a try.

The #1 King Steamed Meat Bao was delicious. Each bao was stuffed with a tasty mix of meat, veggies, and glass noodles. The filling was juicy, well-seasoned, and really close to the northern Chinese bao flavor. They're big too! three were more than enough to fill me up. The food stall is tucked inside GW Supermarket in West Covina, right next to Haven City. It's more of a grab-and-go spot than a sit-down place, you probably can carry it and eat in heaven city area , I assume ? The staff was friendly and fast, and my order came out hot and fresh. A hidden gem for sure.

Another new place opened in Haven City Marketplace inside GW. These are bao's with Korean/Chinese influence. Since it was new, I had to give it a try. I wanted to order the Cr8zy Spicy Dumplings but they said that was the one item on the menu they don't have yet. Ordered the Cheese Meat Bao (it was okay, just a bit of mozzarella cheese on top, with glass noodles mixed with meats inside). Since they didn't have their Cr8zy Spicy Dumplings, I tried their Spicy Shrimp Dumpling (it reminded me of the Chinese dimsum). As I was done ordering, I noticed the workers were cutting up pinwheel pastries. I didn't see them on the menu, but that's when I realized there was a separate menu for a bunch of different Korean soups. I got the red bean version of the won bread (they said there was also a mozzarella cheese version). It had a nice mochi texture with the red bean filling. Overall, the food was meh. The bun was fresh but the fillings of the dumplings/bao's were just okay. The only item I'd come back for is the pinwheel dessert, it brings back wonderful memories of ordering those outside a supermarket made by Chinese elderly ladies.

Located inside GW market. They had a soft opening and they were giving out a sample and we tried number 1 and their red bean bao. We ended up ordering the king steamed bao and red bean bao. My husband also tried their pizza bao it was okay, not a huge fan. The king steamed bao was filled with great flavors and i liked that i had noodles inside. The red bean bao had the perfect amount of filling and mid sweetness to it. I liked it very much. Service was fantastic very friendly.

Cr8zy Bao is located right by the entrance to the GW Market. I imagine people grab their stuff on the go.

We were meeting some friends at Haven City, so we thought to stop by to check out all the restaurants. We ended up at Cr8zy Bao because it was a pretty cold day and we were craving some good ol' Korean comfort food. Cr8zy Bao fit the bill to a T (and of course, I also wanted to compare to the Diamond Bar location). Breakdown below: Ambiance (5/5): I mean...this location is awesome. It's right next to the market so I can grab my Chinese goods right before heading out, and I love that there's plenty of seating (some right next to the restaurant too for a quick chow down). This is a huge plus compared to the DB grab n' go location. Let's not forget all the places to walk around and hang/eat with people at the benches outside too; it's like a perfect and simple family or date night. Service (5/5): The ladies and young man at the front were kind and efficient. Food came out quick, and I'd like to give a major shout-out to the young man who helped pull back some gate thing between the market and restaurants to let me and my stroller through that day. Support these hardworking and nice human beings! Food (5/5): Compared to the DB location, this one had food that was just as good, granted we ordered soup dishes and a few sides to share. We started off with a bit of tteokbokki as an appetizer, and it was perfectly chewy with a nice kick to it. It just got better from there. We ordered the braised chicken and it was melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness. I absolutely loved the thick sauce and how it coated the noodles, potatoes, and chicken; the dish seemed to taste better and stronger in flavor as we all sat there chatting and eating. My one year-old was eating everything really well, as was my two year old, so the non-spicy version of this chicken was a hit (I bet the spicy one is even tastier). The dumpling and rice cake soup was a nice addition to the braised chicken, as it helped clean the palate a little and of course, the dumplings were full of flavor and devoured by my son. My oldie favorite, the spicy shrimp dumplings, did not disappoint; we could have taken them home, but our party just ate it all on the spot. Next time, I'll have to try some of their desserts! Overall, it was a great first visit to this location and I know we'll be back!

Just literally went here for this thinking it was like the street ones they sell in Japan. It's not, it was okay.

yummmm! I'm glad that there's a korean comfort foods inside Haven City / GW Supermarket. It was slightly rainy on Sunday so why not soup for dinner. We found out that Cr8zy Bao is newly opened in West Covina, so we don't have to go all way to Diamond Bar. They serve mostly Korean comfort soup , hot stone pot rice and differents types of mandu / bao. They also added the 10 Won Bread. They even offered us a sample of their popular pork / chive bao. it was steamy hot and delicious. We ordered the Galbi Tang, Pork & chives mandu and the 10 won bread with red bean mochi filling. The first thing I tried when we got our order. I've seen it all over my ig feed and super excited to try it. So much mochi and the red beans filling. If you like red bean. Should give it try! The Galbi Tang Soup served in very hot temperature. Portion is good for 2 people if sharing. comes with at lease 4 piece of the beef ribs with glass noodle, jujube and green onions. not too greasy. Pork & chives mandu is my favorite, I love chives. The mandu tasted very good and not too salty or blend. Very good with the dipping sauce. The meal comes with rice and 3 different banchan, kimchi, bean sprouts, fish cake. It is located on the GW Supermarket side next to BaoShuTang and Sisig LA. you will receive a beeper after placing your order. Love the simple and clean vibe.

I mainly came here mainly for the 10 won bread. I tried once at a street vendor and couldn't find an establishment until now. They offer cheese or red bean filling. One order is $5 and four is $18. I only got two and got each flavor. I like the cheese filling more and i enjoyed the slight crunchy texture of the waffle coin. It is made to order and is about a 10 minute wait. The storefront faces the supermarket, so walk a few aisles and soon will be ready. They also hand you a beeper that will notify you when your order is ready. I would return again next time for the coin bread and maybe try the ready made grab and go item items on the fridge display.

Overall all the food were delicious! Dumplings were great. I especially love the spicy shrimp dumplings. They were chewy and spicy!! Hot stone bibim bap was also amazing. Last but not least, the "10 Won bread" was extremely savory, chewy, and crispy. I love how they are made to order. It was good to taste the street food desert offered in Korea.

Bento options include minced pork over rice, stewed pork and a few variations of it, popcorn chicken, fried pork chop or chicken. They got street food options like oyster omelette, shrimp omelette, assorted marinated meats, and popcorn chicken. If you dont feel like bento boxes, they also have noodle soups. I ordered a preserved veggie stewed pork bento along with an oyster pancake. I was able to do less rice and more veggies, they just switch the placement of rice with the broccoli, the difference is very small, you still get a hefty amount of rice. While the veggies were great, I ended up needing more rice because the stewed meat was on the saltier end. Oh well, mistakes were made and the whole meal was eaten nonetheless. The omelette however was a bit of a disappointment. The texture was lacking in eggs and the veggie wasn't A-choy. The pieces of oysters were clustered in one section, you get huge chunks of the corn starch filling. The whole thing wasn't mixed in too well. Next time I'd just do a bento and nothing else. Portions were very generous and I was decently content with the food.

You order your food through their website accessed with a QR code. Then, you can self-serve water, iced tea, miso soup, and jelly desserts from a counter. The restaurant flavored the popcorn chicken well and didn't make it too oily. I enjoyed how the rice had minced pork on top. In general, the many flavors made the dish interesting. However, the curry and vegetables tasted a little bland for my taste. They had red pepper seasoning on the side, but I wish there was an option to make the popcorn chicken spicier. We enjoyed the miso soup as it was hot and flavorful. The self-serve aspect here reminded me of some restaurants in Taiwan in which you pick up your own water, chopsticks, and condiments. I have no meaningful comments about their service since the restaurant mainly just provides to food to you. Then, you go up to the cashier counter to pay for your bill. There is a lot of seating inside, and it was quiet when we visited on a late morning. The restaurant was hard to find since I wasn't familiar with the area, so it took me a couple tries and careful navigation to arrive.

Food is stellar and of value (6 XLB for $8!), portion sizes are good, and everything is piping hot! The soup dumplings have soo much soup IMO beating out Mama Lu's which is what I would consider to be their nearest competitor. The spicy shrimp wontons are also good, but I think the flavors don't quite hit as well - big pieces of shrimp are enclosed though! The Peppered Beef Udon was great the beef pieces were tender and juicy and great textured noodles. Onion pancakes are a staple along w/cucumber salad (not pictured) , and their pan fried pot stickers are my favorite along with the sauce it comes with. Sooo crispy. Pro tip: If you are a first timer/came from far and waited a while don't let them seat you at the bar the experience is not as nice by far (I saw someone say it's like paying to stare at a wall - I concur) Being seated at a booth or table will allow you the full experience but I do understand there's only a limited amount of room in the bustling place.

The chicken itself was incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly. The garlic rice was another standout! Fragrant, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The plate also came with a small cup of broth, which was a nice complement to the meal, although it was a little mild for my personal taste. The only downside for us was the portion balance. A large portion of the plate is filled with raw cabbage, which makes the dish appear bigger than it actually is. While the rice portion was good, the protein felt a bit limited. We're also not big fans of plain raw cabbage, so we ended up leaving all of it behind. If it had been seasoned or lightly blanched, it might have felt more like a thoughtful side rather than filler. That said, the flavor of the chicken and the rice alone would bring me back. If you're looking for something quick and tasty, this is definitely a great stop. My wife is gluten free so we would ask that they not add in soy sauce or oyster sauce in some of the dishes that we know can still work without those two ingredients. You would need to know how to customize it yourself as I don't think they would know what to do if you simply say no gluten. Overall, I really don't have anything negative to say about this place. We walk in hungry and happy and we come out full and satisfied.

She always orders the Fish Filet with Black Bean Sauce, which she absolutely loves and talks about every visit. This time, I went with the Kung Pao Three Delights, which was solid and flavorful. My only real complaint was the fried rice. It wasn't like any fried rice I've had before--it seemed more like plain rice mixed with soy sauce and just didn't do much for me. Definitely not something I'd order again. That said, my mom would probably give this place 5 stars based on her favorite dish alone. While my experience wasn't quite at that level, the entrée itself was still enjoyable. Overall, I'd return and would recommend.

Their dan dan noodles with rice noodles was savory, with that lovely peanut base sauce. Their Crab & pork xiao lou bao is super delicious. Their skin is thin and the soup inside just fills your mouth. Honestly i think it's better than Din tai fung for that alone. The beef tomato noodle was filled with thick, tender beef chunks, and the diced tomato was actually sauted with savory seasoning. You can see many locals come here to enjoy excellent quality comfort food. From Ordering to being served was a matter of minutes. Great for limited lunch break people! Very clean, simply decorated place.

We got the beef noodle soup, beef tendon soup, seaweed salad, pan-fried pork buns, and pork soup dumplings. The soups were rich and comforting, with tender meat and flavorful broth. The beef tendon was especially soft and well-cooked. The pan-fried pork buns had a nice crispy bottom with juicy filling inside, and the soup dumplings were solid as always. Seaweed salad was a nice lighter side to balance everything out. Overall, super satisfying meal and consistently good quality. Definitely one of our go-to spots for noodles and dumplings.

My favorite thing here is their combo deal--it is such a great value. You get to choose a main dish and a soup, and it comes served with two side dishes and a drink. The soups are clearly made with care; the crispy pork rib soup with radish is a standout--flavorful, comforting, and exactly how it should taste. If it's your first time, you have to try the braised pork leg rice. They are famous for it for a reason: the meat is perfectly tender and packed with savory flavor. A quick heads-up: they aren't open for dinner, so you have to catch them for lunch! Also, keep an eye out for their Taiwanese baked desserts. They don't have them every day, but if you're lucky enough to visit when they do, don't hesitate--buy them immediately. They are absolutely delicious!

But to my chagrin, do you know who received actual pork meat in their meal? Not me!! So what did I get instead? just pork fat and pork skin. No pork meat at all. I checked every piece 1 by 1... I must look like a chef because they probably thought I would use the pork fat for cooking. And the plaza itself is quite shady, its very unpopulated and away from where the main city of industry is. When I was leaving, I saw a few people who were exchanging stuff for cash. So you know who is coming back? Not me ;_;
