4/25/26 Sheng Hui Dim Sum West Covina, CA...My friends and I came to this tiny but good place to eat late breakfast/early lunch outdoors. We had so many great assorted items that we all shared. Although I enjoyed all, my favorite was the BBQ Pork Sesame Bun! The lady at front counter was so nice! The guy cooking was working really hard. This place usually does mostly to-go orders since it's so small. Come give this place a try!!!

I drive by this Dim Sum spot often and got a chance to give them a try. The hours are pretty limited so make sure to take a look if you plan of dropping in. The restaurant is pick up and to-go dim sum. They do have a table outside to eat. The staff was welcoming and all smiles. A warm family type of welcome for sure. I ordered my usual favorite items of dim sum, the Shrimp Har-gow and Pork Shumai. It cost me about $10 all together for one order of each. Food was ready in an instance and you're given a side of chili oil. The rest of the condiments are self serve before you go. The dim sum was enjoyable and worth the cost. They are a great option in West Covina for a quick bite and affordable eats. Thanks, Sheng Hui Dim Sum!

Chicken feet...also very good

It feels like takeout dim sum places are so hard to find these days, especially when you're outside the heart of SGV or even more inland. But, but, but...Sheng Hui Dim Sum is now my go-to takeout spot whenever I am craving some no-fuss dim sum! On this visit, I came in mid-afternoon, so there was no line here. There was one lady working there and she gave me a sheet of paper to mark the items I wanted. I ordered some Shrimp Dumpling (Ha Gow), the Siu Mai, and of course my favorite...the Chicken Feet. All were incredibly meaty, delicious, and a good price compared to other cafe-style places. Average per dim sum is about $5-$6. So I would say about $15-$17 spent here, or about 3 items (depends what you order...) should be a good meal for ya. Of course bigger orders you will get much more. So as this is a takeout place, there wasn't any seating that I saw inside. You can come in and place your order in-person, or you can phone in your order. I saw the lady take a phone order, so there! lol. This is a street-facing location, but you can park on the street, or park in the lot that's shared with the laundromat that's next door. It can accomodate a few cars, but depends when you come here.

Was craving dim sum but there aren't that many options around Covina/west Covina. Given it was a weekend, I also did not want to go into a traditional dim sum spot and wait forever for an order so I found Sheng Hui Dim Sum. They are a fast food dim sum spot. Only 1 table outside of the restaurant if you want to eat there. Loved that I was able to order online. It was easy and quick. The restaurant itself was located on the corner of a tiny plaza so be sure to turn into the parking lot before driving to where it is actually directing you to the restaurant. I ordered the typical tripe, turnip/daikon cake, bean curd wrapped in oyster sauce, chicken buns, and shui mai. The only thing that's not too typical for dim sum was curry fish balls. The owner was really nice and possibly promoting her location and she offered me a free order of seaweed shrimp roll. Quality is not bad for a fast spot. My favorite order is probably the curry fish balls and the tripe. The fish balls are a bit spicy, which I love.

A little shop on the corner of the street serving some fresh dimsum. Orders range about $4-6 dollars. Everything was hot and fresh! My favorite was their sticky rice steamed in banana leaf and their baos and bun. The service was great, everyone was so nice. Definitely a fast go to place for some quick breakfast. I highly recommend.

Love this grab and go Dim Sum location! I have to admit that this particular location went through many changes but so glad this has stayed. This is our go to place when the family craves dim sum and we don't want to take a drive to Monterey Park or Irvine. Everything is delicious and love the fact they have a lot of non-meat items. They are very friendly and quick service. There is no places to eat inside like they used to but we are definitely ok bringing it all Home. They supplied a lot of sauces which was greatly appreciated. Everything was delicious and my all time favorite - sesame red bean ball... yumm!!!

Five stars for everything!!! I definitely will come back to get dim sum over there again in West Covina, California when I get the chance to!! Thank you guys so much for everything!!! ^^

This place is amazing! The prices are great and the food is delicious, I love coming here to get a quick dim sum fix.

No lies were spoken from when I left my first review a year ago. Sorry to hear a mom and pop got shut down though.

No lies were spoken from when I left my first review a year ago. Sorry to hear a mom and pop got shut down though. Extra sad since the people who worked there were nice/understanding when I found a baby roach in my food.

This place is my go to spot every time I want to serve shumai on parties and family gatherings. No dine-in, just for to go run by hard working, friendly and accommodating individuals (maybe one family?) This is just a hole in a wall type of dim sum place with a counter and open space where see all the food prep but their Shumai is so good, cheaper and huge compared to any dim sum place around the area. Make sure to grab their menu where you can scan a barcode for online order to save time on your next visit. Highly recommended!

No. I went last Friday 9/27/19, paid $13.11 with card.

There's plenty to walk around in the plaza (desserts, pastries, açaí bowls) while you're waiting and even a fountain. Once seated everything moves relatively fast. The menu is extensive, food comes out quickly and fresh, and workers are attentive even though you order through a tablet and it's super busy inside. Food is stellar and of value (6 XLB for $8!), portion sizes are good, and everything is piping hot! The soup dumplings have soo much soup IMO beating out Mama Lu's which is what I would consider to be their nearest competitor. The spicy shrimp wontons are also good, but I think the flavors don't quite hit as well - big pieces of shrimp are enclosed though! The Peppered Beef Udon was great the beef pieces were tender and juicy and great textured noodles. Onion pancakes are a staple along w/cucumber salad (not pictured) , and their pan fried pot stickers are my favorite along with the sauce it comes with. Sooo crispy. Pro tip: If you are a first timer/came from far and waited a while don't let them seat you at the bar the experience is not as nice by far (I saw someone say it's like paying to stare at a wall - I concur) Being seated at a booth or table will allow you the full experience but I do understand there's only a limited amount of room in the bustling place.

The chow mein portion was pretty generous too. We probably waited around 10-15 minutes for our order. The staff members ended up putting our order to-go containers, but I clarified that we intended to eat inside, but all good (at least we can take the plastic containers to go). The cashier stopped by our table and apologies for the miscommunication and gave us a lemon iced tea as part of service recovery. It was no big deal honestly. Overall a great experience and my mom really loved the shu mai. The shrimp har gow was small and didn't look/taste too authentic. They also serve complimentary tea which is great! We ordered 5 dim sum dishes and spent a little over $30, which came with a free order of fried noodles -- more than enough food for lunch. We ordered the shu mai, shrimp dumplings, chive dumplings, fried turnip cake, and beef rice rolls. The shu mai were giant, with 5 pieces per order, packed with shrimp, pork, and mushrooms. The shrimp dumplings were just okay since the wrapper was a bit too thick. The chive dumplings were pan-fried with a crispy outside and flavorful filling -- definitely one of our favorites. The beef rice rolls were the best dish of the day: silky, flavorful, and perfectly made. They initially forgot our turnip cake, but when it arrived, I asked for it extra crispy and they absolutely delivered. Thick-cut pieces with a crispy exterior and soft center. The free chow fun was surprisingly good too, full of vegetables with great wok hei flavor. Everything tasted freshly made and steamed to order. Great value overall. The only downside was the service -- the server was a little slow and not very attentive. We tried to pay for at least 15 minutes before anyone noticed us. Overall, we really enjoyed the food and will definitely be back again!

We arrive around 2pm and there was no wait. You order off a form and the food arrives quickly because they have most of it pre-made and ready for take out in the back. The food here is mediocre at best and the service is just awful. They make you feel like a burden and inconvenience right from the bat and refuse to acknowledge you. We were ordering with a waitress then she suddenly got frustrated when we tried to order the honey walnut shrimp and threw her hands in the air and called someone else over. The tall Asian guy who took our orders also made us seem like an inconvenience and even walked away in the middle of us ordering. He kept this same attitude throughout the whole time. My parents were excited for the 99 cent chicken deal they had and wanted to order more and the same guy refused to acknowledge their questions and ultimately told us it was 1 order per table. This is fine if that's their policy, but it was the way he was acting. He made us feel that we were cheap and stingy wanting to take advantage or get cheap eats. If you don't want people to order this cheap dish, don't have it on your menu or advertise it! Also, we ordered plenty of other foods. Beware because this place seems like they're scammy. I ordered a pot of rice and apparently they charge rice per person so regardless of how many people you have, you still get the same pot of rice but more expensive. This makes no sense even when I questioned them about it. When we tried to ask one of the cart ladies about ordering a football from the fried section, she gave us another item instead and when we opened it up, it wasn't what we wanted. They kept trying to push more items on our table to get our money even though we repeatedly said no. They also charge for sauce and didn't tell us. Another waitress (who we didn't even interact with throughout our time) chased me down trying to pressure me to tip more. I have no problem tipping, but when the service is like this, I am not going to leave a 20% tip like usual. I will say the kind busser here was exceptional and although he didnt speak English, he was so kind and honestly made my day. Everyone else here was rude and unwelcoming. The mediocre food here is not worth the outright disrespectful and terrible service.

I think Yelp should change their star rating to a slide so you can adjust by percentage…read more We ended up at Wonde Harbor Dim Sum restaurant in Hacienda Heights because it was the most central point to where my wife's and my cousins college friends were coming from as they are visiting from the Philippines. From the outside, this place looked small, but as you come inside it opens up to a pretty spacious dining room with multiple small private party rooms. They have several round tables that can accommodate 8-10 people with a lazy Susan in the middle for convenience to get to your entrees. Their dim sum menu is pretty big with photos and a box to indicate the number of orders you'd like. They offer all the traditional items from Fish Roe Siu Mai, Shrimp Hargow, steamed spare ribs, chicken feet, steamed and baked Bao's and various dessert items such as egg tarts, fried sesame balls with red bean, and their popular pomelo, mango sago cold soup. Everything sounds like everything went well, but there were some issues that make you think about giving them a second visit. Everything we ordered tasted well and typical of most Dim Sum restaurants. What differs and I wonder if it was just today or if it's a regular thing is one, we ordered sodas, specifically Diet Coke or Coke Zero and the waiter said they didn't have Diet Coke or Coke Zero or regular coke for all that matters. He said they only have sprite. So that was strike one. Strike 2 came in the form of a sauce. We ordered fried crispy shrimp balls and egg rolls, we asked for sweet and sour dipping sauce, the waiter said they don't have sweet and sour sauce. What Chinese restaurant does not have sweet and sour sauce. I thought that would be as common as ketchup to a burger place. So strike 2. Fortunately there was no specific strike 3 because we know that the service at Chinese restaurants is not going to be the best. I credit that to probably their language barrier so it seems like they don't hear you or purposely ignore you. In Hacienda Heights and RowlandHeights area, there are dozens of Chinese restaurants and I'm sure many that serve dim sum, so before I give them a second chance, I'd probably rather give another place a chance to get our business.

The restaurant had plenty of empty tables but some hadn't been cleaned. We were finally seated with tea and menus but still didn't feel welcomed. We had to flag someone down to take our order which was on marked on the paper form. Then we had to flag someone else down to order a beer and several times to refill the teapot with water. One teapot, 5 people, it's going to empty fast. We had to ask for the bill TWICE and it wasn't busy at all by that time. We ordered 12 dishes between the 5 of us. Most were not very tasty at all but I must admit that the duck, the turnip cake, the fried pork mochi dumplings, and the sticky rice were excellent. Again, it was super annoying to have to wave your hands in the air to get anyone's attention from the beginning to the end of our lunch.

Ordering is simple, they give you a paper menu where you mark what you want and hand it back. We ordered tea for two and picked a bunch of dim sum: jumbo shrimp har gow, shrimp fried wontons, steamed rice noodle roll with shrimp, baked abalone sauce BBQ pork bun, poached Chinese broccoli, and custard egg tarts.
