Horrible experience. My daughter showed the man a picture of what she wanted done and it completely came out the opposite of what she asked for. Not only did he make the nail so thick and bulky (looked like a bunch of nails were stacked on each other) but the paint was so off, the gel looks cloudy, all uneven, didn't put diamonds on all the nails like the picture clearly showed. The hearts looked like triangle shape. To top it off we kindly asked if he could fix it and he got irritated and bothered about it , he gave us an attitude and started rushing through it. He didn't bother to fix it. We felt so uncomfortable, we got anxiety just being there. My daughter was uncomfortable and in pain the whole time when he was filing the nails, they were so THICK. If he couldn't do the nails as shown on the picture he should of just said no instead of attempting to do it. We are very disappointed and will definitely never return here. read more

I'm very meticulous about my nails and they were very attentive of my needs & wants. You tell them what you want and they make it happen. I just showed them a picture of what I wanted and they mimicked the design. Which consisted of chrome a design & rhinestones (Holiday) However, they need better pedicurists (cause I've been there twice. I had to ask them to be consistent in the shape of my toe nails and to clean up the excess polish not on the nail itself. I was surprised, I had to micro manage on that requirement. I went to get a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. The ladies that did them were very nice and I thought they did a decent job. My toes looked great, however I was not too impressed with my manicure, after a day there were like bumps in the nail polish and it started to chip off in a few days. Usually for a gel manicure it should last a good amount of time. When we went to tip we were being generous with it even though it was alright and then the person ringing us up was questioning if the tip was good enough. My overall opinion of the salon is that it is an average salon. I'm still happy with my toes. Seems like they are not good at time management for appointments or people's time. If they got better at timing per customer and did not over book they would improve. Also they should have a sign up list to keep organized of how many people they need to do and how long the wait would be. Also, if they had solely had a receptionist that can focus on customers and direct them to the nail technicians that would be great and if the person was bilingual. read more

I decided to come here even though they had bad reviews just to see it for myself. I would personally not recommend this place, I asked for almond and they gave me round nails and wouldn't fix them, They weren't the same length and they came out very clumpy I wasn't satisfied and they weren't cheap. They also keep asking for tips and even more on top of whatever you've already given them and I personally don't like that since it makes me uncomfortable to be asked for money repeatedly even when you've already tipped and for the work they did. read more

ZERO STARS!!! I don't even know where to get started but this place has turned into one of the worst nail salons I've ever been to. I used to come here a child with my mom and although she is a regular customer here, I will NEVER be coming back. Their service was so much better a few years back. I came for a gel manicure, pedicure & acrylic removal ... the employees did a horrible job, everything was rushed & the lady doing my pedicure had a horrible attitude just because I didn't want to get a deluxe or callous removal pedicure (which I didn't need because my last pedicure was only a week ago). She didn't even paint my nails properly ... the color looks faded in certain areas. When it came time to take my acrylics off, the nail tech was rushing so she could take another client. I asked for her to file my acrylics down instead of soaking them for the removal because it takes too long (I had somewhere to be & they made me wait a while). I guess she was hoping to squeeze in another client while I soaked them so an attitude came on ... then she yanked all of them off without filing them down properly & broke my real nails. I had told her that if my natural nails would break off, I will wait & soak instead. She was in such a rush to take another client that she completely ignored me. I was so upset that I cancelled my gel manicure & left with nails that she didn't even bother to buff out after removing the acrylics. I've gotten acrylics removed from other places & they are gentle with your nails & smooth your nails out before you go. They charge $10 just for removal ... I hoped that they would do a decent job but I guess not. I am so disappointed with this nail salon. I recommend everyone to take their business elsewhere ... there is a salon called 'Beauty Secrets' that's just 5 minutes away & I've had much better experiences there. You would think that after being a customer here for years, the employees would treat you well ... but I guess not because this place has horrible customer service. They need to get organized & hire a receptionist because their time management needs work. Even if you have an appointment, expect to wait at LEAST 15-20 minutes ... I also think they need to have a health inspectors come in because I see many reviews that have complaints about infections occurring after getting a pedicure from here. If I could choose 0 stars I would. Today was my first day here, and I was referred by a friend. I made an appointment with Lily for a gel manicure, and a gel pedicure for 4:10PM. I walk in and she is doing somebody else which was no big deal, until I was sitting there for 35 minutes. Within that time she had someone else come over and put foil on my nails which I was fine with. Then I sat for another 25 minutes waiting, finally getting to sit at the pedicure chair with cold water. And then she was done with the first girl and took the second, and I asked her if she would be coming to work on me anytime soon since i had been there for almost an hour. She then sent someone else over to do my nails and at this point I just wanted to be get them done. I asked them to be filed and same exact shape and she filed them all the way down and most of them were crooked. So I asked her to please stop. Lily tried to come over and paint my nails and I said no i'm okay I will be going somewhere else because this is not what I asked for. At the end she asked me to pay for them and I refused because I explained to her that I had an appt with her and she did not touch my nails once, and her response was I asked my girl to do it because I didn't have time. I will give the girl who did my pedicure a five star, she did a great job. This was the worst first impression I have ever experienced and I hope that they treat others better than this. read more

Worst Service Ever!! My mom and sister went here yesterday, and called in advance to ask if they accept checks, and they told them they did so my mom was under the impression that she could pay for their nails with a check. After everything was done, they told her we don't take checks. She didn't bring any other form of payment because of this. They treated her like she was a criminal, and started yelling at her to give them her phone and saying she couldn't leave to get another form of payment. My mom had to call her dad to bring cash, so they would let her leave. She was late to hair appointment by 30 mins because of their poor customer service. I'm extremely disappointed with the service and quality at this nail salon. I had a simple manicure/pedicure. The pedicure lasted no more than 15-20 minutes, which I assume is because I didn't give in to the constant pestering to upgrade to a more expensive pedicure. They didn't clean under the nails, barely scrubbed the callouses, no more than a minute massage and the polish was not even, nor did it go the full length of the nails on the sides. For the manicure, I had a different lady who was mildly better, however, it's been less than 6 hours since I was there and 3 nails have already started chipping. While I was there, 2 different people walked in to complain about their nails chipping. Both were for gel manicures. That should have been my queue to leave. While they were more than willing to fix the two people that walked in, this place is a waste of time and money. Don't bother with this salon. I'm never giving them my business again. I was a regular, I'd schedule my own appts- come in on time for them. Heck- I'd even bring in a friend(and also schedule a separate appt for her, of course) I know they take walk ins, but I'd make appointments specifically so that I could sit next to my gal pal and we could enjoy our time together. But they scatter people around the salon so usually it was hard to get spots next to each other. That's why I'd call ahead of time and make appointments. It was seemingly "impossible" So I'd even plan to get my nails done on days I KNEW they wouldn't be busy. Once, I made an appointment specifically requesting nail tables next to each other- when I get there(on time) - two other ladies walked in and were already sitting next to each other and there wasn't room for my and my friend to do the same. Ok I get that. Whatever. BUT THE SECOND TIME I ATTEMPTED THIS- We show up, They sat us down next to each other- Finally! I could sit next to my bff and we could chat while getting our nails done! I was so happy and excited! Which is weird because it wasn't that big of a deal but I felt I had put a lot of effort into making it happen, so I was pleased. Then- two women- walk in. They are also saying they'd like to sit next to each other- and I SWEAR, I can't make this up- LITERALLY WHILE I WAS GETTING MY NAILS DONE- the salon made ME move while my hands had crap on them- JUST so that these ladies who walked in with NO APPOINTMENT could sit next to each other. I felt so disrespected- after I made it clear on the phone all I wanted was to sit next to my friend- let alone this was our SECOND TRY. I'm a usual customer that comes in all the time despite all the bad reviews and they usually never disappoint me until today. I went in and got a regular pedicure , they show you a menu and I got #1. She proceeded on massaging my legs and feet and then asks me "would you like 10 more mins?" I thought it was nice & thoughtful for her to ask and I said yes (stupid of me to think they ask out of kindness vs for more money) I got a regular pedicure and after I go to pay she tells me it's $30. What!? $30? The menu said $20!?!? She then of course let's me know oh well you wanted a 10 more min massage ... your joking right? You charge $10 for extra massage!?!? Where was that on the menu!? Nowhere. Why didn't you tell me that?? She didn't say a word (except proceeded to probably talk shit in her own language as usual) I got so upset that there wasn't even a warning or anything that they charge a lousy $10 bucks for a half ass massage!!! I left no tip. So in conclusion, beware if they ask you for 10 more mins on a massage they will charge you every minute. read more

This is my 1st try of a nail salon in Simi!!! Damn what a bad experience!!! I miss my girl in LA Since my nails were in rough shape thought I would give them a whirl. Called ahead prices seemed in line. I paid 55 for gel manicure and regular pedicure just polish. Now that I think about it pretty expensive for what I received. Not a pleasant experience. Let me say she was sweet but Oh my gosh didn't know even how to take the gel off my toes. Used a power tool over and over. I finally just decided 1/2 way thru the agonizing experience to just tell her to paint my toes and opted not to have her to bother putting gel application on my toes. She cut the shit out of my toes. I'm hoping I don't get an ingrown toenail as next day my 2 big toes are hurting. It will be awhile until they grow out and look normal again. Start to finish 2 1/2 hours. All I wanted was a relaxing nice experience. I had a guy for my nails, but nice doesn't cut it. I forgot his name but only guy there. Spoke great English again I asked for simple things. He proceeds to tell me they don't do that here. He put me next to a fan as they don't have AC. I wanted to vomit the fan was loaded with dirt and like massive crap stuck all over. Wish I took a pic. Once you're sitting in the pedicure chair they will try to up charge you for your pedicure and make it sound like you have to choose one of the upgrades. Came to Top Nails spa for the first time this morning. The place looked clean and the staff were nice. My friend and I only wanted pedicures and we were seated right away. I told my girl that I wanted the regular spa pedicure (no scrub or callus remover) with a design. With a lot of other nail places I would always be asked what design I wanted, but my girl didn't ask me and proceeded to do the generic flower. I stopped her and asked if i could just get a white french tip with the color I chose, a last minute decision because I've had enough of those flower designs in my lifetime. She got a little flustered and in the end, I got a sloppy design that I will probably go have fixed elsewhere. My friend however did not get a design and got a deluxe pedicure that she thoroughly enjoyed and walked out with a clean, nicely done pedicure. read more

I'm always on the hunt for great spots to get a manicure - this place is no frills and is not for those who are looking for a relaxing spa day, but they certainly get the job done. I popped in on a Friday afternoon to get a regular mani, and they took me right away. Decent selection of colors, plus they do gels (if you're into that sort of thing). I had the basic mani with Cathy, and she did a great job. As a chronic nail-biter (I know, so bad) I appreciate anyone who takes a minute to really clean up my cuticles, and I can't stand unevenly filed nails (since I'm slightly OCD). Plus, amazingly, the polish has lasted over a week without chipping! And I'm a nurse, so I'm washing and abusing my nails with industrial strength hand sanitizer almost daily.
