Second visit to famous nails, after ok experience at Elite nails. The prices here are much better than most around here $35 for acrylic fill and nail polishes are great. I also love the cats eye polish (never scene that before) $10 more but gorgeous colors that really last. Summer is sweet and actually talks to you. I hate thick nails and she did them thinner than anyone and the look so natural. She gave me a mask,?which I asked for because they don't have a machine that vacuums the dust. This place is in need of some updating but it's more important to me to have nice people and quality service. Made an appointment, was not seen for over an hour, still waiting for longer than an hour for my toes to be finished despite making two appointments for myself and my daughter. Helped people that came in after me and made my child wait 45 minutes to be seen despite making an appointment and it took over two hours for us to even leave. Tagged along with a friend to get our nails done. My whole gel manicure was done in 10 minutes, meanwhile my friend had not yet been seen at all for her pedi and it was 20 minutes past our appointment time. I believe the owner was the one who worked on me. Really shoddy job. Sat with me for about nine minutes as she rushed two coats of color and 2 top coats. She even walked away before the nails were dry and just instructed me to finish on my own with the UV lamp. Super unprofessional and disappointing. The tips of most my nails look like they're dripping nail polish and there's spots completely missing top coat. There was also polish under some nails that I found later in the day that I had to peel off my skin. Will not be coming back here. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! Worst pedicure experience I ever had!! I was cut two different times as the nail tech dug painfully in my toe to get a non painful not so bad ingrown toe nail out. I bled for 45 minutes and was so uncomfortable as the owner tried to get the bleeding to stop. They used antiseptic and alcohol and it was burning me very badly. A day later and my toe still hurts. After the bleeding finally stopped due to the owner putting nail glue in the wound after sitting there for almost 2 hours I got up and said that I would pay for my manicure but I was not going to pay for the pedicure. The owner gave me a terrible look and then said "We work hard" I was taken back that she wanted me to pay for the torture I just went through! Recently came to this location for acrylics , which was $45 +$10 for design. Felt very rushed, rough, and the result is only cute from afar. Although the owner was friendly , their work is not the best. They cut my real nails to the brim when applying acrylic, which has never happened before at any other place I've been to. I asked for almond shape but it did not come out elegantly.... came out crusty and uneven :/ I do not recommend coming here to get acrylic nail. Honestly - I live in Simi but would still make the drive to SFV to get my nails done, I knew I should have just sticker to my nail spa. This place is very disappointing! I asked for a gel mani and pedi and it legit looks like my 6 year old did my nails. I came in last week to get my nails done by Jenny and the edges near the cuticles look bad. They look like they have Air bubbles that's lifting them up. I don't think they're going to last very long. She was also filing them on the sides pretty harsh. I told her to fix some of them because they were crooked, and she did fix them but after a day I noticed these air bubbles around the edges, and it's all my nails not just one. I won't come back to this salon. There's better places out there. read more

While in town today I stopped to get a fill and pedicure at 10:15 am. Ryan took me right away and did both of my services. First pedicure, he did a nice job. I should of gotten a longer massage as I needed it. He then did my fill with matching pink frosted gel polish. I was in and out in an hour. He was friendly and shaped my nails just the way I asked for them. I haven't been here in awhile and this was my first time trying Ryan. I usually get Bill for pedicure and Cindy does my nails. First and last time here. When I noticed the girl doing my manicure couldn't understand what "square" was when she asked how I wanted it filed... I knew this was a disaster. She kept rounding the corners and my nails were going up in one corner. I mentioned that it's crooked like one corner is going up on all my nails... she laughed and smiled (I'm thinking because she couldn't understand what I was saying") she kept filing the side that was already short and leaving the long crooked corner. My only "issue" is that when you go, you usually have to wait a bit of time so if you're in a hurry I wouldn't recommend. But they always do a great job and gives you your moneys worth! Honestly probably the worst pedicure I've ever gotten. I was trying to be very patient and understanding because it was clear to me that the kid doing my nails had not received enough training. I asked for my ingrown sides to be lifted and he didn't understand English, then two other people asked me if I wanted it done and I said yes, then they never did it. He kept picking at my skin and cut a chunk out of my big toe which was then bleeding and cut all my nails unevenly. The paint was not to the cuticle and looked very sloppy. I was visiting my mom on Sunday and decided I wanted to get my nails done. I no longer live in the area, but lived in Simi Valley for 2 years and never tried this place. I called several places in the afternoon who said they could not fit me in. I called Famous Nails & Spa and they told me to come! I had to wait about 10 minutes while they finished up a customer (whose nails turned out so cute!!) I didn't mind waiting because so many salons were busy and it was a Sunday afternoon; to be expected without an appointment. Cindy (I believe that is her name) did my nails as soon as she was finished with her other client. She was so nice and I enjoyed making conversation with her! She even let me borrow her phone charger. She did my nails surprisingly quickly without jeopardizing quality. Once I was in her chair, she finished a full set with gel polish in about 35 minutes. I am very happy with how they turned out. I will definitely be back to this amazing salon! Prices were super reasonable and they do great work. The place was clean and covid safe. The guy was so horrible! Went in for a gel change and he used the electric filing thing and he just went to town on my mail beds! My nails are so damn sensitive now. I have no actually nails anymore and you can see the layers that he took off on the thumb, all my nails are like that. You can almost feel the skin inter my nails. They don't soak or anything, he just goes in and files away and when I told the owner and she came and checked she says "oh well this is how we usually take it off" my nails were way longer than that, he had to file them down just so he can make them even after messing them up!
