I came in late on a Sunday afternoon, and even though it was close to closing time, everyone welcomed me with a smile and made me feel like I wasn't inconveniencing them. Sasha took care of my pedicure, and she did an amazing job. She was thorough, attentive, and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. The foot massage was incredibly relaxing, and the neck massage was the perfect finishing touch. It was easily one of the best salon experiences I've had. Booking online for the next day was super easy. I got the Smoothie pedicure (includes callus removal and a 5-minute hot stone massage), and it did not disappoint! Molly took her time and did an excellent job. I especially appreciated the timer for the massage--it showed they really deliver what they promise. I went to this nail salon because a friend recommended them and told me they take their time, don't rush through the pedicure, and even include a shoulder massage. I had looked them up before and noticed their prices were about $5-$10 higher than other nail salons, but I decided to give them a try based on my friend's recommendation. I paid $70 for my pedicure, which included callus removal and a mud mask on my legs. Honestly, there was nothing particularly special about the service that justified the $70 price. At other salons, I would expect to pay around $50 for a similar service. I gave my technician a $10 tip, which I felt was reasonable considering the already higher-than-average price of the service. However, his reaction made me feel like I was expected to tip more. That really bothered me. If your prices are already significantly higher than other salons, customers shouldn't be made to feel uncomfortable or judged over the amount they choose to tip. I also asked my friend about her experience, and she told me that when she paid by credit card, the lowest tip option available was close to 22%, so she felt that was essentially the only option she could choose. I also regularly go to high-end med spas for facials and other treatments, and there have been times when I haven't even left a tip. I have never been treated rudely or made to feel uncomfortable because of it. That's what I find so disappointing about this experience. A tip is supposed to be earned and appreciated, not something a customer should feel pressured or judged into giving. Unfortunately, because of the combination of the high prices and the feeling of being pressured to tip more, I won't be returning. I don't understand why some nail salons and massage businesses are making customers feel obligated to give higher tips rather than allowing the quality of the service to determine the tip. I appreciated that I had the pedicure and then the manicure, they didn't try to knock out both at once so I was able to enjoy the pedicure massage chair and relax. Molly did a beautiful job on my manicure, absolutely in love with the shape and how they came out. They also give you a brief shoulder rub during the manicure which was unexpected and lovely.
