It's been several months since I've had my nails done, but as always I visited April :). She is the best and my go to! I am constantly picking at my nails and hands, so it's easy to go to places and the acrylics hurt when it's applied but not with April. She is very gentle and aware of this, my hands never hurt or bleed when seeing her compared to other salons. On top of that, she is consistently good at making them look natural and beautiful. Unfortunately I have to give this place a 1 star. I feel as though I have been scammed. I payed for a gel pedicure and only after a week the polish on my pedicure has chipped away. I noticed when they did my pedicure they didn't put the gel coat other places put. I didn't think about it much because I knew I was getting a gel pedicure and I figured everywhere is different and probably has their own way to do it . I'm so disappointed. Everyone should beware of this place. I recommend gradient nails on young street. I only came here because they were closed that day and a coworker of mine said she got a cheap manicure here. I used to come here before because I knew one of the workers and she was so nice. I took a break for a year or two but decided I should treat myself and was in need of a pedicure. I decided to go back and they were able to take 2 walk ins for pedicure we got the Deluxe pedicure 2. It was very basic and seemed simplified and rushed. I started to get cracky feet which is why I went decided to go in the first place and the deluxe pedicure 2 says it specializes in cracked heels. When you see my feet it doesn't look cracked you can definitely feel it. The specialist asked if I wanted to shave my feet and I said yes (I feel like that's the biggest step to help with "callus and cracked heels") she proceeded to do so but very minor maybe a few strokes on each foot. Ice seen before where they would literally grate the foot to get off all the calluses and cracks (I guess it's different now). She then painted my nails 2 coats but you could still see streaks and uneven color so I asked her to do another. Once that was done she seemed to rush me when no one was waiting and moved me to the fan on the side. She then gave me slippers and said I should be good to go to the car. I was walking very carefully and watched my step. When I got home I looked down and 2 toes were messed up. If they weren't dry why would she tell me I could go (we didn't rush her at all). After all the treatment and lotion I did have softer feet but the 3rd day I could feel the cracks coming back. read more

Ivy did my gel polish manicure & upgraded pedicure. She did exactly what I requested. I need my Mani color done thick because I tend to scratch my skin & break it. Most nail technicians don't like or understand what I want done so they don't do a good job at that. She also cut down my nails & shaped it like I wanted. I dropped by this place a while ago. Hmm, my photo says July 2020. Wow has it been a while! I happened to be in the Kaimuki area after a Massage Envy appointment. Decided to go on a "treat yoself" adventure. And what does a girl need to feel like a pampered princess?!?! Did you answer "NAILS!!!"? Cause yes, that's the correct answer. Of course I pulled up the trusted Yelp app to see nail salons nearby. It directed me to Top Nails by Ana. The reviews were raving and the pictures did not lie, very nice work. I knew it was last minute so I called to ask about the walk in wait time, I was told to head in. When I got there, I was handed a form to fill out about COVID-19 screening questions and had my temperature checked. I walked over from a few blocks away while the sun was right above, so I was super duper hot. I was offered water and given paper towels to blot off my sweat. Very caring and thoughtful. After filling out my form. I was helped right away. I think the tech's name was Kelly. She was very sweet and gentle with my manicure. I opted for the mani pedi set deal where you chose one set in gel and the other in polish. I liked that each station was separated with clear safety barriers. They also had multiple big televisions to watch while getting my nails done. My manicure was in gel and my pedicure was in polish. Diana then helped me with my pedicure. I really liked that the foot soaking tubs were lined with plastic to make it more sanitary between clients. She was very friendly, knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I was not familiar with the Kaimuki area and asked about different places to eat. She suggested a lot of different places and even the directions to get there. I felt a very kind and genuine vibe from her. I did not plan on getting a mani pedi so I wore sandals that had straps around the nail areas. Diana saw this and offered me some "one time use" pedi slippers and I said yes. They did the job of letting my nails dry more before I put my sandals back on. She even offered me a bag to put my sandals in. Thank you Diana! I really appreciate your kindness :) My manicure lasted a few weeks until it started chipping at the edges. Then I buffed it off myself. But here's a secret okay... Don't tell anybody. You promise? Okay... my pedicure is still going strong on the nails of my big toes, LOL and like half grown out... it's like 3-4 months after? LOL.... shhhhh. Maybe it's that time again for a new mani pedi? *deep in thought emoji* LOL. While I was there, the salon was pretty busy so I think making appointments ahead would be the best way to go. Or call ahead if you're thinking about walking in. I'm not too sure about the COVID-19 procedures now as it's been a while since I went, so double check with the salon. I started coming here about four years ago every time I went to Hawaii my husband thought they did an amazing job so he always wanted me to go back. We visit Hawaii maybe 1 to 2 times a year the first couple times was great. Anna did my nails she was very nice professional And was pleasant to work with my current visit went absolutely terrible. Anna wasn't there. So this other lady did my nails she did not know how to draw a flower. Then another lady walked up, not knowing it was the lady who was going to do my pedicure, but she came up and touched my nail and ruined it so it took longer because it needed to be fixed, and then the lady Who did my feet didn't even give me the wax that I paid for.. I brought my mother-in-law here last time and it cost $140 this time it was just me getting a pedicure and a full set and they charged me $160 like that's pretty expensive! Especially knowing that she couldn't draw a flower, but I still got charged? So disappointing. They couldn't even try and copy photo of what I wanted for my nails. read more

Stopped by this place again before I left for college and they KILLED IT!!!! I wanted an ombré on my natural nails but realized that it would be easiest to do acrylic to get that blended effect so I chose to do acrylic on my natural nail. Diana helped me remove the nail polish and gave me lots of information on acrylics and how I can maintain it in college if I don't wanna go to a salon to take it off. They even gave me a free filer and some glue to maintain it in college if it starts growing out! Ana did my acrylics on my natural nail and she was so sweet!! HER SKILLS ARE INCREDIBLE!!!! I love my nails and I can't wait till I can come back and go back to this place. This is for sure my go to nail place in Kaimuki!! Workers are super friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. I landed in Oahu and I called Top Nails about an hour before they closed because I couldn't wait another day because of the pain and swelling I was having in some of my toes. Ana and Kate got me in right away and went to work on getting the ingrowns out and they even sent me on my way with a care package of antibiotic ointment to make sure my toes healed while finishing my vacation! PROM NAILS!!! Ana, the lady who did my gel x nails was super nice and flexible to what I wanted. I had a reference photo and she was able to perfectly replicate it! Super quick, only took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Price was great, $73 not including tip for gel x + the designs on 4 nails. I also love that they had a movie playing so that I could watch! For the nails alone I would give 5 stars, however I took one off because of poor communication. On the day of my appointment I was notified that the lady who does gel x was not available, even after confirming my appointment the day prior via phone. They were able to book me for the next day at around the same time which in the end worked out. Overall, I definitely recommend and will go back! read more

Also they take your temperature and have you read their Covid-19 policy and fill out a release form before service. My go to Nail Salon closed a year into the Pandemic. I had been going and seeing the same person for several years. I was at a loss as to where to go, when she called to say, she decided to close and retire. I reached out and got a recommendation from a friend. He would post photos regularly after his mani pedi at Top Nails on Facebook. It was a good recommendation. It has been over a year now that I have been going to Top Nails. I can confidently say I am very happy with each service I've gotten. Because the person I usually see there, has not been available at times, I have had other manicurist do my mani pedi. I have gone here many times and the ladies has always been so sweet., but I did a pedi today without looking at the prices until half way threw my service to realize they have really raised their prices. I must say the massage was really good but they are always so busy that they have to rush. For $40 basic pedi I would expect more. The painting wasn't that great.
