I had a great time talking to Tami while she did my lashes, I got a partial lash with perm. The pricing is great. If it lasts 4-6 weeks during my trip, I feel it was worth it.

My lashes had no curl at all and wouldn't even stay if I used an eyelash curler. So I went to Tami and like magic my lashes now curl beautifully. I'm so happy. I would totally recommend Tami to anyone looking to get an eyelash perm.

Top: before perm, Middle: after, without makeup or mascara (aren't my lashes sooo thin?!), Bottom: after, with drugstore mascara :)

Tami is the BEST--not only is she great at what she does and knows her stuff, but she's also super sweet, friendly, charismatic, and a beautiful woman inside and out! I struggled using my broken and borderline illiterate knowledge of salon terminology, accentuated with a flurry of exemplary hand motions to explain to her the type of curl I'm used to getting, and from my brief, 20 second explanation, Tami figured out exactly which rod to use to achieve the type of curl I wanted. For someone who has been hooked on getting my eyelashes permed for the last two years, I probably should've prepared ahead of time and just brought a picture. For those of you contemplating between a perm and extensions, I am personally a huge fan of the perm--its such a convenient, painless, no-hassle way to fabulous lashes! I wear contacts everyday, have super sensitive eyes and skin around my eyes, but lash perms work sooo well for me and my lifestyle. What happens is you lie on a bed, the technician has you close your eyes, they cover the skin around your eyes with protective pads, clean your lashes with a clean mascara wand, carefully apply perm solution to your lashes, then wrap your lashes over a particular type of rod to achieve your desired curl. After all of that, you literally lie there with your eyes closed for 45 minutes to an hour to wait for the perm solution to activate the curl, then the technician carefully removes excess perm solution from your lashes, removes the rods and protective pads from your skin, and sometimes applies clear mascara gel to hold the perm in place. It is ok to apply mascara to your lashes immediately after the perm, but if you really want the curl to last, do NOT wet your lashes for the 24 hours immediately after the perm. The perm lasts as long as your natural lash cycle (lashes grow, fall out, & and replaced with new ones), which from my own experience, varies from individual to individual. It was my first time at this location and first time getting a lash perm again after a three month hiatus, meaning my thin Asian lashes, though pretty long in length, were naturally pin-straight and incapable of holding a curl to save its life, per usual. That day, I also happened to have been on less than an hour's worth of sleep the night before, super stressed out and exhausted, received bad news literally five minutes before I walked in the door, got there seven minutes late, and figured I'd take the opportunity to snag a kitty nap while waiting for my lashes to perm as I usually do when I get them done. That all changed when I walked in the door. The location is dark with its black painted walls, but lit well enough that its cozy, not creepy, and Tami greeted me with this huge, friendly smile. I ended up voluntarily giving up the nap I promised myself and left an hour later not only LOVING my lashes, but in an unexpectedly great mood after my long conversation turned heart-to-heart with Tami. I normally don't open up to people easily, especially upon meeting a person for the first time, but somehow small talk turned into us gushing about our families, relationships, love lives, and values for the full time I was there. She didn't need to, but gave me a hug before I left. It didn't feel like I went in to get a service done--it literally felt like I was hanging out with a close gf who happened to be helping me perm my lashes! Other than my unique experience with Tami, I encountered two minor differences between this location and the others that I've gone to for lash perms: 1. Including my 20% tip, the service cost me ~$70, which is ~$10 pricier than other Hawaii locations I've been to, but worth the small difference in price. 2. They use one of those adjustable lab lights above your eyes, similar to a small version of the ones in dental offices above the patient chair, probably to ensure meticulous perfection in the perm prep process to achieve the curl you want. I appreciate this attention to detail, but I personally did not like the extreme brightness of the light, even with my eyes closed. This was the only location where I experienced the technician using a light like this--every other place I've been to was lit with natural or fluorescent lighting. I uploaded a picture collage of my lashes before my perm (top picture), several days after my perm without any mascara or makeup (middle picture--aren't my lashes sooo thin?!), and several days after my perm with my favorite mascara combo (bottom picture). Don't they look great with the perm and mascara?! I'm sooo happy with how flirty and lavishly long they look and feel! (And if you're wondering, I do not use "fiber" or "3D" mascara--I use a combination of the "Falsies" mascara in the purple tube & Loreal Telescopic in the silver tube :)

After looking at many ads, sites, and word of mouth, I chose to go to Yuriko of Summer Eyes…read more I've been going to Yuriko since 2022 for initial and maintenance eyebrow and eyeliner procedures. I chose Yuriko and would not go to anyone else because: Artistry 1. She is an artist. Her work shown in photos is even, smooth, enhancing, and natural. Her color choices are good. I'm cautious about anything permanent, I trust her. I get compliments on my brows and eyeliner. So far, 5 people have asked me for her contact info. 2. She individualizes each person's procedure and listens to what end effect is desired. She noticed that I raise my eyebrows a lot in conversation, so adjusted my eyebrow design to work with it (so I wouldn't look shocked/crazy). 3. I'm not a stunner, but Yuriko has helped my face look like a put together version - AND I don't have to do my brows or eyeliner daily. Experience 1. Yuriko has years of experience and training from both Japan and the US. 2. She continues to keep up with industry standards and products. She goes out of state for training, product shows. Professionalism 1. Yuriko measures, consults w you, explains, and we agree on what's going to be done before she starts. 2. She's warm and approachable. e.g., I am comfortable telling her I need more numbing cream during the process. 3. She provides pre-and post-instructions before the procedure. 4. Her prices are reasonable. Facilities 1. Free parking 2. Clean and cozy 3. Nearby bathroom available I'm glad I found Yuriko. She is sweet, caring, artistic, and approachable.

I went to summer eyes last month and seen Lily to get my lips done. She said she could do the job…read moreand she did an assessment and I was able to schedule. When that day came around Lily numbed my lips and started. Everything was fine until she started talking about her personal life. It honestly started to get very annoying and awkward because she also talked about these old men that she was seeing and doing more with. I was disgusted wanting to walk out but couldn't. Also my lips has developed a severe reaction where it tingles and it keeps drying up. I'm awaiting on a test where they had to punch my lip to get skin. They say it may have been from filth which the place is cute but there's garbage, cotton tips everywhere! I'm now worried if the needle was clean! Save yourself and go somewhere else that's safe! It's not worth it especially when I paid in full. The vibe was okay at first but seriously too much information to a complete stranger! I'm glad I didn't pay to get my lashes done!
