I highly recommend Mio. I have been to a few other artists for lash extensions and went to see Mio after someone close to me had their lashes done by her. I have not seen another lash artist since. Mio's technique far-surpasses other artists I have been to. I have thin lashes and like a more natural look with some additional volume and length. I find her fees just right, her studio is easy to find, clean and quiet. Parking is not always easy so I recommend giving yourself some ample time to park, just in case. Per the amazing reviews on Yelp, I called Mio for an eyelash extension appointment. I was very disappointed with the lashes that I got. I have delicate, thin and few lashes. Hence I need the extension. I asked her for her expertise and she gave me a hybrid 120 set of lashes. Out of the gate, the lashes were flopped on the corner of my eyes. She said that was my eye lash problem not hers. So I walked away with half lashed stood up, half flopped. As if that was not the worst part, 50% of the lashes fell off after 7 days. 50% in 7 days, that must be a record. There you go $120 plus tip went down the drain. This is probably one of the worst lash extensions that I have gotten so far. It was with a heavy heart that I wrote this review as I understand this is her livelihood. On the other hand, I don't want another person to have a horrible experience like me. It is not cheap after all. If you have thin, delicate and few lashes like me, think twice before you call. Mio saved my life. Or literally, she saved my lashes. I'm not sure what happened but I literally spent almost $200 getting my lashes done on the mainland to have them come off despite my efforts of total lash care within 2 days (didn't wash for 24 hrs, brushed them, and used a fan to dry them after washing my face). I had bald patchy spots and looked like a demon. I was able to contact Mio via text and she was able to squeeze me last minute. After getting them done and doing proper lash care, let me tell you: her lashes are freaking amazing. They lasted after we went snorkeling, after the rain storm in combination with the humidity, and they lasted after getting a massage. She is the best. I texted Mio to see if she is able to do my eyelashes. I heard that she does more of the natural + hybrid style lashes, so I wanted to check it out. Mio was really good at responding back to my text message. It was really easy to make an appointment with her! She does give you directions on where to go and enter before going to her place. Parking is kind of tough around the area so if you don't mind walking for 5 minutes, I would suggest parking at Safeway and walking over to see Mio. When you arrive to her place, she really friendly and ask what type of lashes you want. I let her know I wanted more cat eyes and more lashes than 60 each side because that's what I got in Japan. She suggested instead of more lashes why not do hybrid. So i tried it out and the outcome was fantastic! It isn't over dramatic and it does make your eyes pop out more. I highly recommend Mio if you are looking for more Japanese style natural look as well as if you want a mixture of natural and hybrid. Anyway, mio responded quickly and took extra time to fit me into her busy schedule! I was in Honolulu at the end of my weeklong trip. The lashes I had on were 3 weeks old and I decided to call around to see if anyone had a last minute fill appointment. I really really like my lash technician on the mainland so I didn't have any expectations for this fill. However, after going to Mio, I think I like her technique just as much. Since it was my first time, Mio suggested the length, amount and curl, and I just went with it. I could hardly feel a thing! No itching, redness or irritation. This was my first experience getting lashes and I absolutely love my new, long lashes! They look so natural, despite their length. I believe I got 100 lashes, 12-13 mm, with longer ones on the ends. I told Mio that I wanted something in between natural and glamorous, and that's exactly what I got. It looks like there were more lashes on my left eye than right, but it still looks nice. Some glue also got into my eye, which stung but it went away after a while. I arrived late because I took a few wrong turns and the entrance to the back parking lot was a little hard to spot. She rushed the appointment a bit, but that's understandable since I was late. She was still also very nice to me. Parking is free with validation, so make sure you ask Mio for the validation. Overall I'm looking forward to my next visit for a refill and touch up. read more

Mio is super sweet, and she is very gentle. it was an interesting process and its definetly worth it to go to someone who knows what they are doing, and i recommend Mio! her prices are very reasonable. some eyelash places charge and arm and a leg. next time i would get the most lashes she offers, but it was really nice to not have to wear mascara. she explains how to keep up with them and sends you home with a little spoolie brush! read more
