I found this place on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. I texted the phone number here, to which…read morethe owner (Mika?) replied instantly and sweetly. She was extremely nice and accommodating over text, informing me of her available time slots, services, and prices. On the morning of my appointment, she texted me asking if I could come at an earlier time. I said yes. Unfortunately, I was running late, so I let her know over text. She called me and very brashly asked if I was on my way. I reassured her that I was close by, but she sounded very annoyed and repeated several times that it was "15 minutes past my appointment time." I apologized and drove as fast as I could to the location. Upon arrival, I parked in the back of the building and called her again to make sure I was in the right place and did not need to pay for parking. She ignored my question and told me to RUN up the stairs because she had a client coming in 20 minutes and she was "not sure what she could do for me" because I was, again, "WAY past my appointment time." She said to hurry because I also had to sign waiver forms. My assumption is that Mika had booked clients back to back that day because if she had a client coming in 20 minutes, that meant that my entire appointment was only 40 minutes long (which, in my opinion, is too short to give proper care and attention anyway). I had trouble finding the stairs to go up to the salon so called her one more time, only for Mika to say, "You know what, I can't take you anymore, there's not enough time." I said sorry again for being so late and asked if I could just get my old appointment slot back (later that day). She said no, she had already filled it so I had to figure something else out. TL;DR: I was super late to my lash lift appointment and it ended up getting cancelled. Therefore, I cannot speak to Mika's skills as a lash tech or quality of service. However, I am leaving this review to inform everyone of the unprofessional correspondence I had with her. Maybe she was just under a lot of stress today, I don't know. Regardless, there is no need to speak to anyone so rude and condescendingly, especially not a potential paying client. I apologize for wasting her time, but still feel like the bad attitude she gave me was uncalled for. I have made an appointment at a different salon where I hope to be respected as a customer instead of talked down on like a child.

Her attention to detail is second to none! Her Japanese lash perms are very natural-looking and leave lashes gently curled, soft, and healthy. Also, her lash extension service is amazing. She is a perfectionist, and it shows. She specializes in a lush natural look, but can also provide a more dramatic look if that's what you're going for. She can even do "party eyes" for special occasions, adding colored lashes and tiny, elegant Swarovski crystals! The studio is located on the 3rd floor above Fairwood Ramen (old Columbia Inn) in the Longs and Times shopping center in Kaimuki on Waialae and 4th ave. Parking is easy unless you happen to go when Sacred Hearts is getting out - lots of people park in the shopping center when picking up their kids. Tyleen's prices are so reasonable for the quality work that she does. Also, her demeanor is very soothing, so it's a very spa-like experience - super relaxing and easy to fall asleep! I also have to add that she is a total sweetheart; she really, really cares about her clients. An all-around perfect experience :) thank you Tyleen!

I was die-hard with my lash artist for years, so when she notified me she was going on maternity leave, I panicked a bit about finding someone else for several months. She does great work, and somehow manages to interpret my "idk...kinda like this I guess?" with a random photo and turn it to life. Her prices are outrageously reasonable for the quality of work she does and the lashes stay for a significant length of time. When I go to her for 3 week touch ups, it's usually because my lashes have grown out, not because I've lost them. The office is super cam and relaxing as well, and is right on the water. My nails are my favorite that I've ever had and if this nail tech was here permanently- I would book regularly!! First off, there's free parking and a lot of it! Beauty Mark is located on the second floor, in the same building as Fujiyama Texas. The building has a lot of... character, to say the least. It may not be polished on the outside but the inside of Beauty Mark felt bright, clean, and comfortable. There is a ton of natural light that makes the ambiance really nice. The bathrooms is a single room, but very clean. Since this spot isn't usually a nail salon, I was the only one getting my nails done in their waiting room area. There was ample space for me, my nail artist + all her supplies, and my stuff. They played local/ Hawaiian music at a nice volume, loud enough to hear but at a volume where you can talk freely without an issue of hearing the other person. I'm not a typical customer of this establishment since I don't get permanent makeup etc. done but I did really enjoy my time getting my nails done here! However, as I get older, I know I need to take better care of my skin but I don't have the patience. Last year, I decided to microblade my brows because I didn't want the tattooed look like my sister (sorry, Kalei). However, it didn't last long despite my brows getting touched-up twice shortly after. I still had to apply brow shadow. Since last September 2016, I started Crossfit and in July of this year, I began powerlifting. Some days, I don't care if I have makeup and some days I'm coming in straight from the office to train with my mascara (WATER-PROOF) smearing under my eyes, which I wanted to something about it (yes, I'm vain). This is where CJ comes in. I remembered her from the 2017 Crossfit Open and noticed that she is a makeup artist because she helped one of the ladies at Arkaios Crossfit with her makeup for a bodybuilding competition! I started stalking her stylist page on IG and her personal account because I admired her makeup and lash extensions (that's another review in the making). I saw her post on where she got her lashes done and booked an appointment. While I was making an appointment for my lashes, I inquired with the gal if she did powder brow tattooing and she recommended me to CJ! Talk about fate. CJ is one of the brow specialist at Beauty Mark. She also does makeup as well too. I texted CJ shortly after and she was able to squeeze me in the beginning of December. Beauty Mark Honolulu located in the McCully area on South King Street is easy to find. If you're familiar where Pineapple Patio, Beauty Mark is across the street in a building on the 2nd floor. Don't let the appearance of the building alarm you (its circa 1970ish, I think) because once you enter the salon, it's like you're in another world like the beauty salon of Narnia. It's relaxing, clean and the vibe is friendly where you are immediately at ease. For each of their services, they'll have you fill out a form to provide information on yourself as well as consenting to doing the procedures. With CJ, I chose to do the powder brow tattoo because in my opinion from the picture I've seen as well as searched online, it's a softer look of a regular tattooed eyebrows. CJ will work with you on your eyebrows until you're satisfied with the recommendations as well. She'll go over with you what she will do before and during the procedure. She will also take a before and after photo of your brows. NOTE: The procedure itself wasn't painful. Overall, a great experience because of CJ. If you're interested in powder brow, I highly recommend CJ at Beauty Mark Honolulu.
