Birthday/ independence day cupcakes for my main... the flavors complemented each other well!
    Joseph C.

I ordered 3 dozen large for my boo-thang' birthday party, smiles all around. I made one phone call and the rest was taken care of.. Frosting is usually the best part of a cupcake, but when it comes to Toot Sweet... It's the best part of being alive! Very new era business model, similar to Uber Eats; you order and they deliver. Where they differ from Uber Eats is definitely the customer service - Uber could learn a thing from my girl Tiffany, she even sent me photo of bae getting the cupcakes.

Call me vindictive...call me a sore loser... call me whatever you want (Brian from Toot Sweet) just don't call me a repeat customer to this place. I just can't let it go...every time my Mom's birthday passes, I'm reminded of the crap job Toot Sweet did in preparing my mom's Bingo Themed (yes tacky I know, but what are ya' gonna do..the lady loves bingo) cupcake order. Even over a year later, the whole experience with these people still irks me. I even disputed this order ($130 for about 3 dozen jumbo cupcakes) back in April of 2009 with the BBB and they refused to meet me even half way in crediting the CRAP job they did. The husband and I had it out via email and BBB responses and to this day, I've probably mouthed off about this tricky treat place to about 150 different people. It just isn't fair to advertise a quality looking product and deliver what they gave me, so just beware...my pictures are posted so you can see for yourself... I called in an order for "Bingo Themed" Cupcakes, giving the husband free range (after seeing their website) just asking for three flavors of cupcakes that resembled bingo balls wishing my mom a happy 45th birthday.... What I got were these HORRENDOUS looking mis-shapen, sloppily decorated, seemingly rushed cupcakes that followed no uniformity whatsoever. They refused to credit anything because I "kept" the cupcakes...I live way north near Duval and they are in Oak Hill...my brother drove out there on a Friday to pick these up at 2ish and I had to be at the Bingo Hall by 4:30...so I could NOT wait around for the seemingly sweet Tiffany B. to "re-do" her husband's attempt to decorate my order. Check out the pictures for yourself...save yourself the trouble and DO NOT take a chance with Toot Sweet. HEB would be a safer bet; this place seems to be hit or miss and they DO NOT deliver what's on that fancy-shmancy website. That's just fluff. My pictures are proof of that.

    Red Velvet... sorry bad angle

I am determined to find the best cupcakes in town... It's a hard life I know. We got a variety box delivered to work, so this review is for cupcakes only not service, location or other menu offerings. The cupcakes are good... not the best I've ever had, but good enough that I kept going back for more. It was disappointing that the cake itself was pretty dry on all 3 kinds I tried. I don't know if it's because they were made too far in advance or if they are always like that. The fact that there is a small amount of filling inside each cupcake helped compensate for the dryness of the cake. The filling complemented the cake and frosting flavors well. The frosting is pretty good, especially the cream cheese. The chocolate was not the best, I prefer a creamier frosting. Overall I'd say I liked the Carrot Cake the best, followed by the Red Velvet. If they could get the actual CAKE to be more memorable this could be an awesome cupcake.

Their delivery to a 2 year old for his birthday . SEVEN out of 12 cupcakes destroyed... no apology or notification :(

UNBELIEVABLE. The preposterous delivery! To deliver crumbled cupcakes to a 2 year old for his birthday. SEVEN out of 12 cupcakes were crumbled. Not only did Brian Bacon take a deceiving picture during his delivery making it seem that everything was fine, but I tried to contact them in several occasions and no response. Seriously?! Is this your customer service? Finally, Tiffany Bacon replies from her iphone and says, "We assemble them with frosting - the delivery was over 40 miles away, the vibration was hard on them." Not only did they charge double for the "decorations" on the cupcakes, yet they didn't even arrive in one piece! Keep in mind delivery was also charged! (before delivery they undercharged me $5 which I asked to pay for difference & also no response, they probably knew I was already going to be disappointed with the delivery) NEVER, NEVER again will I order from this Bakery! Discontent and disgusted with their attitude, customer service, and definitely discontent with the presentation of their cupcakes!

I had just read on Reddit a couple days prior that this was recommended as an alternative to another Austin bakery. When I walked in I was surprised to find many older individuals sitting and chatting, so I thought there might be some kind of event. But it's probably just the demographics of the neighborhood! Based on the decor I can tell they're not trying to be a "trendy" bakery and remain true to their identity as a neighborhood business. They still had a good number of pastries available but I did get the last strawberry danish of the day (pictured). I also got the almond croissant. Their pre-made bread loaves all looked appetizing as well. I thought both pastries had good texture but could have used more filling/flavoring.

Don't get me wrong, the chocolate chip cookies were very good (soft, buttery, generous on the chocolate chips), but the lemon crinkle cookies were just out of this world. The mint ice cream was incredible because they used fresh mint, not mint extract or mint flavor so it tastes different than the regular mint chocolate chip ice cream we are all used to. Located in the corner of the plaza (next to the grocery store). Cute little bakery with a sweet older lady who speaks zero English but was nonetheless extremely welcoming and kind. She even gave my toddler a complimentary macaron. Sweet. I am usually pretty adventurous with trying new pastries/snacks and it generally works out well. Unfortunately, I did not like most of the things we took home that day (my husband agreed). A taro egg ball thing -- not fans. A gelatinous rice blob inside a bamboo leaf (believe it's called Zongzi) -- also didn't work for us. Finally, the beef puff (which seemed like a safe bet) fell short of expectations. It's my fault -- I ignored that part that said "beef floss." It had a stringy/processed texture that I just didn't like. I just wasn't a fan of the flavors/textures -- but obviously that's subjective. I did enjoy the garlic bread we also thankfully bought -- it was soft and flavorful. If you're not familiar with the foods, I'd recommend making sure you get a few "safe" items like the cream bread or garlic bread. Ultimately, even though I wasn't crazy about most of what I tried, it was a cute little shop with a nice lady running it.

I was able to place my order and pay with Apple Pay. I ordered the Taiyaki Sundae with black sesame and ube swirl soft serve served in a fish shaped mochi Belgian style waffle with Oreo dust on top. You can customize your sundae with filling like organic red sweet beans, Nutella or custard and toppings like Oreo dust, fruity pebbles or rainbow sprinkles. I ate this on site and the nutty black sesame balanced the sweet ube perfectly, and the Oreo topping added the best crunch. They had a variety of mochi donut flavors. Lucky for me, nothing was sold out today. I ordered the Oreo ube mochi donut and ube milk tea to-go. I ate the mochi donut later that day and it was probably my least favorite item from my order. It had the chewy mochi texture however I didn't get enough of the rich ube flavor. It had somewhat of a bitter aftertaste and the Oreo overpowered the ube.
