The third and fourth photos is the cake I received. My husband picked it up for me, otherwise I likely would have asked if the lettering could be changed before leaving. Unfortunately, the overall design missed the mark for me. The color was much more yellow than I had requested (ivory or natural white) and I really didn't care for the font used for the lettering, especially compared to the inspiration photo. That being said, the cake itself was INSANELY good! The flavor and texture were absolutely delicious, and because of that, I would definitely order from Hayley Cakes again. Next time, I'll just be a little more specific about the design details. Overall, while the appearance wasn't what I had envisioned, the cake tasted amazing!

The folks behind the counter were genuinely friendly, service was quick, and the whole place had that wonderfully eclectic, slightly funky South Austin character. Nothing fancy or pretentious, just a comfortable neighborhood hangout with plenty of personality. You can tell Captain Quack's has earned its place in the hearts of the locals. Great atmosphere, good people, and a little Austin weirdness in all the right ways. I'll be back, and next time I'm trying something from that bakery case.
