Looking for local specialties in the Binghamton area I found Tony's Texas Hots. Knowing my hot dog loving friends back in NJ would ask, I grilled (pun intended) the owner about his Texas Hots. What brand of dog do you use? Are they skinless or natural casing? How many to a pound? Beef, pork, or a mix? 'What, are you writing a book? It's not about the hot dog, it's about the toppings' was the reply! Anyway, they were no bigger than 8/1, skinless, mild beef/pork blend. The chili was tasty but not hot, nicely picking up the taste of the flat top. Cute joint, still living in the fifties/sixties but going back close to a century I was told. Fun for a visit if you're in the area.

Classic, retro interior (original fixtures and decor, but all kept very clean) and friendly staff. Hot dogs and hamburgers were solid.

This is the best dive food in Johnson City. The best chili cheeseburgers are here. Cash only. No frills, nothing fancy, just great food.

Great chili dogs in a retro hole-in-the-wall setting. Don't be put off by outside appearance, inside it's a gem. Worth a visit.

Stopped in here as I was passing through and so glad I did. These are the best Texas Hots I've ever had. The sauce here is amazing.

This is a difficult review to properly balance. We'd seen the rooftop restaurant from my son's new…read morecollege apartment and went for dinner. After reading the sign indicating we need to see the host inside, we went. It was packed and looked modern chic, with low lights and high tables and tall chairs. We didn't have reservations and got the sorry, but we're full, to which I said we wanted to eat upstairs. To that, we got "okay" but that is a "different experience," which I frankly took as pretension... until I got upstairs. Then we understood. It was mostly empty on this Saturday evening, opposite the main restaurant below, and had a single person working the whole space, a Bar tender who explained we were to pull up the menu with a QRC, order, and they would bring the food; if we wanted drinks, we needed to come to the bar. Ordered food. Went to bar and waited. Good local craft beer on tap. Decent view, pleasant weather. And then a half hour passed. For sandwiches and tacos. Few minutes later, I went in to make sure our order was sent and that the kitchen actually received it. There was no animated chef in toque at a stove to indicate it was working, but she assured me it was. Another 15 minutes go by, and our beers are low, and we're considering.... Leaving or raising a stink when the bartender leaves her bar, looks at us, and goes down the stairs without a word, returning a few minutes later with nothing. That was odd, but seemed like progress. A few minutes later, our food arrives. Perhaps 50-60 minutes after ordering it. The runner tells us the manager apologies for the wait and has comped all our food. Without our having to say a word. We ate a fine arugula salad with watermelon, blueberries, and cheese. A good chicken sandwich with the most unusual Parmesan parsley fries--they were more thick chips, fried into curls, and topped with fried parsley and grated Parmesan. If you order it on the side, it comes with aioli, which was excellent. My burger was outstanding. I could taste the smoke, and it came with not slices, but small cubes of bacon. No need for sauce. My wife's shrimp tacos were very good eating. Frankly, it was so good, I *might* have forgiven them the wait. They did right to acknowledge their mistake. When we visit Binghampton again, we'll make reservations for the main dining room, which we were told has a much larger menu. We paid our bar tab via their Toast app. So yes, table service, but no waitron. It was a different experience, true to the host's word.

disappointing. We were in town to drop off son for school…read more My birthday was a few days later so i figured we'd go somewhere a little more special and upscale. We walked in and were impressed with the decor. It feels special. We then got seated. My reservation was made weeks prior. Resturant wasn't close to full. In the center there are three really nice booths. There was a table of 4 in the center one. All others were empty. We would have loved to have been seated there. We were brought over to a corner right near a curtained off doorway. I thought 'hmm that's odd.' Too tired from a long drive i accepted the seating. For the next 30 mins i listened to what seemed like never ending amount of dishes and silverware be clanged and washed. I then almost asked to be moved but just hoped it would pass. No new diners came in. Not sure why we were put in the corner but it was a negative for sure. For our meals... i ordered a Bolognese. I love a bolognese and when it's on a menu i get excited. This one was bland and flavorless. I could make a much better one. Bolognese takes hours to slow cook and this was simply not a bolognese. For $32 it needs to be better. I honestly was so unimpressed i left about 3/4 un-eaten. Waitress asked me if i want a to go box. No. no need. The butter candle was cool. My son loved his gnocchi. Portions were big. Tried it but we won't be back.

I had to change the headcount twice, confirmed the reservation multiple times because of the size of the group, and they even moved us into the beer hall to accommodate everyone. Communication leading up to the event was excellent. Unfortunately, about 30 minutes before our reservation, I received a call that the kitchen had been shut down due to an emergency plumbing issue. I completely understand that emergencies happen and don't fault the restaurant for something outside of their control. We were offered the option to delay our reservation by 30-45 minutes while they waited for an update, but there was no guarantee the kitchen would reopen. After discussing it with the group, we had to scramble to find another location. I appreciate that someone called rather than having us show up and receive the news, but with a party of this size, I wish there had been more proactive communication, the GM thought she had called me but totally understood when dealing with an emergency. The reservation process itself was outstanding and talking with Jessica about options at their other location was great. Hopefully we can try the Factory if we are ever back in town.

Went to Factory last night and ordered the fiesta bowl and was highly disappointed. Over cooked rice, barely any corn or beans and the chicken was lacking in flavor. Overall the taste was pretty bland had to get extra sauce to put on it just so I could eat it. Someone else got the chicken caprese and there was one basil leaf on the entire sandwich! Chicken was dry and had no flavor. Chips were way too salty and inedible. Really disappointed, the quality continues to go down while the prices go up. At some point the "our operating costs are going up" spin will only get you so far while the overall taste and quality of the food continues to decline.

I had no expectations when I came here besides my motivation to eat because I was starving. When you enter the restaurant, you can order right away. To the left they have a bunch of tables. There are 2 or 3 benches outside if you wanted to sit outside. You just have to go all round through the front door to get there. Let's talk about the chicken tenders - I thought I was getting some regular diner kids menu quality nuggets but they were elite! They were soo crispy and super tender on the inside. The chicken was full of flavor. The best chicken tenders I've had in a while. I normally don't order these so I was so happy that I did! Now for the steak sandwich- I'm not sure what I was expecting but it was not this- a whole piece of meat in bread. I feel like it's a great value compared to other steak sandwiches I've had before. The meat itself plus the sauce on it made it delicious. There were no rough parts, everything was excellent. It was a big sandwich so my partner and I split it, or else I would not have been able to eat it on my own.

They have two locations. This one is farther north about 15 mins away from Binghamton University but closer to Suny Broome. Though there is a closer location to Binghamton. I heard that the rib eye sandwich is only available in the other location. Def worth the drive up. We also ordered the onion rings and chicken nuggets. But the star was the rib eye sandwich. Will beback very soon.

I'm not a huge fan of chicken wings, but guys... Guys... GUUUUUUYS. The chicken wings here are legit DELICIOUS. The vibe of the restaurant is just chill and relaxed. It's clean, the service is great (the server took care of drink refills without us asking, checked back with us regularly & in a timely manner, and brought the items from our order out as they were ready), and the price point is great for what you get as well. We ordered 4 different kinds of wings - Cajun, Black Cherry Pepper BBQ, Carolina Gold (the star of the show), and Hot Honey Garlic. I'm a bit of a lightweight when it comes to heat, so I didn't try the Cajun... but I loved the bit of fruit flavor from the black cherry wings, and really enjoyed the bit of spice from the hot honey. Those Carolina Gold wings though... I would come back again and again for those alone. Consider me a chicken wing convert, I guess! ALSO... I almost forgot that we have the buffalo chicken eggrolls as an appetizer. Perfectly crunchy outer eggroll with delicious buffalo chicken inside. I'm not a bleu cheese gal (blasphemy with buffalo chicken, but I don't care), and the server brought a little side of ranch out for us to dip our eggrolls in. *chef's kiss* TL;DR GO. FOR. THE WINGS. Seriously... you're missing out if you don't. Get a bunch of flavors, share with friends (or eat them yourself - I won't judge), and wallow in the sauce-y goodness.

I stopped at this location a couple days ago because well we were headed to the grocery store and you don't want to go to a Wegmans if you're hungry. You'll spend a whole lot more money. So because we were already nearby anyways we stopped in. Wasn't really sure what to get so went with just the basic cheeseburger and a normal size french fry. I had read reviews before about five guys and I forgotten until was there but when you order a normal size french fry or any size french fry for that matter, they place the container of fries into your bag very very carefully as not to spill any, and then they take a big ol' scoop of french fries in addition to that and dump them into the bag on top of everything. So you get plenty of fries. The burgers were incredible, very juicy, had some decent flavor, and we ordered them "all the way" which comes with lettuce pickle tomato onion etc.. The fries were tasty enough that we didn't add any ketchup or mayonnaise or anything. The staff behind the counter were super friendly, and they actually seemed happy to have jobs at a burger place. I say it like that because we've all been to a McDonald's for example and seen just the grumpy people that work there walking around like they could give a crap about anything. The crew at this five guys seemed like they were having a good time even though they were working. The place was also pretty clean, lots of tables to choose from.
