    Butter Masala Dosa
    Ashish A.

Butter Masala Dosa was delicious...paper thin and tasty. Size is big...bring a big appetite Started with the idli/vada combo...vada was piping hot and with the sambar, flavor was off the charts Wanted to try their coffee but have to wait till the next trip....food coma. It was busy and did take some time for the order to arrive but they serve chips (Mexico restaurant style) to pick on while you wait. All in all, loved it. Glad I came.

    Garlic naan and chicken naan

Oh my where do I start? Service was perfect! The gentleman was polite and respectful. The dining area is super clean, tables were set nicely. The garlic naan was the best I've ever had. So fresh and flavorful. The Goat Saag was absolutely fantastic! I asked for it spicy and it was just that. And not too much. I would drive hours to return here. Kudos to Dosa Grill for all that they do!

Returned to try the dinner buffet. The buffet had a satisfactory variety of veg selections and there's even more if you eat meat. The fresh dosa brought to the table included with the buffet was a nice touch. The price was very reasonable for buffet service. Everything was tasty; although I'm usually partial to the curries, the highlights for me were unexpectedly the beet salad, rasam, and shahi tukra (I was especially excited to try shahi tukra, I never see it on menus anywhere). Except for the rasam, everything was pretty mild in heat. I would have liked to see one or two spicy curries, but even without the heat, everything was flavourful. I think I'll probably go for the regular menu if I come back again, but it was really fun to try the buffet and it's definitely a good choice if you want to go to an Indian buffet.

    "Birdseed"

Shhhh. The triple cities best kept secret. Their lunch buffet is second to none!!! Beautiful array of tantalizing Indian favorites. From soup to birdseed (see attached pix). Beautiful, yet comfortable clean environment with attentive, helpful and friendly staff. Not to mention, the bountiful and delicious food. The buffet is continuously restocked, including with their highest quality and tender chicken breast selections we have ever encountered at any Indian Buffet. This place is a must try. Very conveniently located with plenty of parking.

The food is wonderful. Fish Pakora app is a favorite. Good quality on everything and one of the only Dosa games in town which is also gluten free. Service is great. Ambience is great, plays Indian music. We love it here.

I absolutely love this place! One of my favorite Indian restaurants in town. Their food is great and service is also great. Everyone here is super friendly! I love it here because they actually blend their curry spices very finely. It's a personal preference but I love when there no pieces of spices poking out.

Food was good! I enjoyed the mango lassi the most. Some items were too spicy for me, even when it was labeled as mild

We ordered takeout from them a few years ago during COVID, but this was our first time dining in. The restaurant was tidy and I liked their music (I think mostly older Bollywood music), but there was an alarm in the kitchen that was beeping continuously the entire time we were there, and since we were sitting near the kitchen entrance it felt like it was right in my ear, which was a little irritating. The waiter was very polite though, which made it a pleasant experience being there. I ordered the soya vindaloo, had a bit of vegetable biryani, and we got a bread basket for the table which included plain and garlic naans, onion kulcha, and roti. The soya vindaloo was okay. I don't want to say it was bland, but it was less intense than I was expecting. I ordered it with medium spice and I wonder if it would've been better at "hot" or even "very hot". I would've described the spice level that I got as medium-mild. The veggie biryani was tasty, but oily for my taste. This dish was ordered mild, but there was enough depth and warmth in the other spices of the dish that I didn't miss the heat. There were lots of vegetables in the dish that were cooked perfectly to provide a little texture and enhance the flavour of the rice. The breads were great. They were all also a little more buttery than I usually prefer but were cooked so well, and the naans were just thick enough to be fluffy. The onion kulcha had a great flavour with lots of slightly caramelized onion. I got kheer from dessert which I loved. Lots of cardamom, but not overpowering, and perfect texture - not watery. I remember that when we got takeout here, I ordered curry kofta, peshawari naan, gajar ka halwa, and plain lassi. I don't remember the naan at all, but I remember I really enjoyed the kofta, lassi, and naan. I actually remember the gajar ka halva so well because it was so good that I was tempted to order it again when we visited this time even though I ultimately decided to try something different. When we picked up, they apparently never got our order because of some weirdness with the online platform (I assume this is now resolved because their current online ordering uses a different site) so they had to start it when we arrived, but they were very hospitable to us while we waited, letting us sit in a booth and bringing water. I wouldn't put it among the best Indian restaurants I've been to, and I even think there's better in the Binghamton area, but some things do stand out as particularly good, so I'd be happy to come here again, and would just order spicier next time.

The owner eventually came around after a few minutes and offered me a glass of water while I waited. He was very pleasant. I ordered an entrée, chicken tikka saag (which included basmati rice), naan, aloo paratha, raitha (not included with breads; ordered separately) and gulab jamun. In about 10 minutes my order was ready. I was there slightly after dinner service hours. I did notice that there were a couple of tables that had not been cleaned, but it looked like there was only one server working the dining room. The food was good. I had ordered medium spicy for my entrée, and when I ate at home it was not spicy to me. I'm not sure if they accidentally made it mild or not. It looks like it is a popular spot for locals. They do offer beer and wine, and it does look like they may make some mixed drinks as I noted some bottles of mixer, which may be for the Lassi drinks. All in all, it was a good experience. The food was decent. I would go back again.

After taking some neighborhood streets, we arrived at the location and parked in their small lot. There was room for perhaps for 6-7 cars. Each space was labeled for whether it was for the restaurant or not. Entering, we were greeted and seated. We had about 1 hour and 14 minutes before boarding, so the staff were very accommodating and pointed out what could be made quickly (basically everything except their tandoori). They also answered questions about gluten. We ended up getting aloo tikki chaat and a lamb shank masala. They provided chickpea flour crisps with mint-cilantro and tamarind chutney. They also brought us their complimentary chai tea, which was very nice and satisfying. Their chaat was well-balanced, gluten-free (the crispies are made with chickpea flour), and it had pomengranate, chickpeas, and potatoes. The pile was dressed with yogurt, tamarind chutney, and mint chutney. Their lamb shank masala came bone-in with the curry sauce surrounding it. The lamb was well cooked, and mostly moist and tender, though there were parts that were dry. Both dishes were well-adorned, which was a nice touch. Best of all, however, was how exemplary all the staff were at the restaurant. They exuded a wonderful calmness and hospitality. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Syracuse.

So much Indian food outside major metropolitan centers in the US is either terribly underflavored, in a sad attempt to level down to provincial palates, or by contrast overspiced, in the equally ridiculous assumption that you convey authenticity via sheer capsicum, that one approaches a place like this warily. And yet what you have here is delicately-calibrated sauces, food in which you can actually taste individual seasonings and savor their interactions, the way it's supposed to be! Samosas are fresh, crunchy crispy crust rather than the doughy glop for which we so frequently settle, and rice is perfectly fluffy. Lunch servings are just the right size - not the gargantuan american portions that let you know how dubious is the quality of the meat (margins can only be maintained on those stupid portion sizes by sacrificing quality).
