My boyfriend has been telling me about this place for a while now and about how they have the best chicken wings he's ever had. And here's the thing... I'm not a huge fan of chicken wings, but guys... Guys... GUUUUUUYS. The chicken wings here are legit DELICIOUS. The vibe of the restaurant is just chill and relaxed. It's clean, the service is great (the server took care of drink refills without us asking, checked back with us regularly & in a timely manner, and brought the items from our order out as they were ready), and the price point is great for what you get as well. We ordered 4 different kinds of wings - Cajun, Black Cherry Pepper BBQ, Carolina Gold (the star of the show), and Hot Honey Garlic. I'm a bit of a lightweight when it comes to heat, so I didn't try the Cajun... but I loved the bit of fruit flavor from the black cherry wings, and really enjoyed the bit of spice from the hot honey. Those Carolina Gold wings though... I would come back again and again for those alone. Consider me a chicken wing convert, I guess! ALSO... I almost forgot that we have the buffalo chicken eggrolls as an appetizer. Perfectly crunchy outer eggroll with delicious buffalo chicken inside. I'm not a bleu cheese gal (blasphemy with buffalo chicken, but I don't care), and the server brought a little side of ranch out for us to dip our eggrolls in. *chef's kiss* TL;DR GO. FOR. THE WINGS. Seriously... you're missing out if you don't. Get a bunch of flavors, share with friends (or eat them yourself - I won't judge), and wallow in the sauce-y goodness. read more

Cannot wait to go back! We needed snacks and a drink and we needed a good drive on a Sunday! So glad we stopped here, will absolutely be a new place to get our favorites! The vibe of this place is exactly what's needed in America. I wish there were more places like the Union Hotel. It looks so fun and funky, everything is clean and I'm being serious, it's clean! Fried cheese curds and fried pickles...if that's all we ordered we were already hooked! Then our wings came!!! Pry the sauces out of my hands, I had it on my face, up my arms, the wings were exactly what you beg for anywhere else!! The sweetest and most beautiful bartender was an absolute angel getting our drinks and food! Extremely conscientious and attentive during busy moments! We cannot wait to go back...it was a fantastic reminder of what we used to have local to us! 10/10 all the way around! read more

My wife and I ate at here tonight and really enjoyed our experience. Mandi was a very helpful server and very accommodating to our needs. We tried the Fried Pierogies which were covered with a Buffalo sour cream sauce, the Texas Roadhouse Burger and the Chicken Philly Cheesesteak. I also substituted the French fries for sweet potato waffle fries which were excellent and fried to perfection. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone and we will definitely be back! read more

Came here while visiting for a work conference. This place has potential, I likely ordered the wrong item as it wasn't hot nor was it that tasty, but based on so many good reviews of the food, clearly I ordered incorrectly. The bartenders were nice. I wouldnt go out of my way to go back, but I wouldnt steer people clear of it either. read more

Yelp suggested The Old Union Hotel with a four star recommendation, so we gave it a whirl after a long morning of touring Binghamton University. We immediately came to a consensus that we were going to go with the wings. They had so many flavors from which to choose! Ultimately, we decided on parmesan garlic, honey garlic, and medium. Since we all came to consensus, we decided we would try each of the flavors. We also added poutine to our order. The food came out piping hot. The wings were so incredibly crispy and flavorful, unlike any I had ever had before. The service was pleasant and attentive. Our server was terrific--friendly and accommodating. The Old Union Hotel is a hotspot in Binghamton. You need to stop by for the wings and sandwiches. read more

Came here for dinner on a Thursday evening. Had no wait time, but they were fairly busy throughout out time there Went here for wings all the time when I went to school and am happy to report they're just as good as i remembered! I'll still put these on the pedestal as the best wings I've ever had. I had the Carolina gold, honey sriracha, and hot. If I had to pick just one I'd go with the hot, but they're all fantastic If you're in the area it's an absolute must, really if you're coming within an hour of the area I can't recommend going out of your way for them enough It's otherwise a run of the mill sports bar. I've only ever had the wings, but people seem to like the other food too, I just can't advocate for using the stomach space on anything else read more

Fantastic! We highly recommend the Union! We met out of town family there today for lunch - As we've always experienced: Great food - we shared BBQ Wings-to die for, Garlic Parmesan Wings - Excellent, Clam Stuffed Mushroom App - Freshly made and Delicious! Onion rings side - GREAT! Everything there is made to order, and totally reasonable wait time to experience that. The staff was terrific! - Attentive and spot on! They are open every day people, so Definitely get there for lunch or dinner - you'll be glad you did! Oh, also parking, they have limited parking next to the building, HOWEVER, you can park in the old American Legion building lot across Grace & corner of Clinton Street as well as the parking lot on the corner of the next block over on Clinton St and Colfax Avenue. read more

Ok I'm from New York and had to deliver some equipment in Binghamton. Looked up a place for wings and this place popped up. Anyway the reviews are TRUE!!! These wings are amazing! Easily a 8 out of 10 for me. I hope to deliver up here again just for these wings lol read more

I truly enjoyed the food there, especially the wings, these are not tiny little no nothing wings, these wings are a good size and the sauces are very tasty, which is a good thing, because that is how you're going to get your flavoring of the wings, as these wings are not seasoned. I've been here three times now and and I am planning a fourth time coming up soon. My first time here I thought the food and service was amazing, the second time not so much, the waitress took our order and never came back to our table until it was time to check out, she even was borderline rude when I had a complaint about the watered down drink I received. I believe that was due to melted ice by sitting on the bar for a little bit before it was picked up and brought to me. There was a few other mishaps but I won't go into detail, because even though I vowed never to return, I was missing those wings too much. So the next time I went I sat at the bar and again I had amazing service with great food! And then the third time I went again amazing service with great food! So the Old Union is back on! I'm not gonna let one little miserable person stop me from enjoying the great service others provide and those amazing wings! Did I mention the wings! read more

The food here lives up to the hype! We dined in on a busy Friday night. Service was great and we were seated right away, despite being there during a peak time. We ordered several types of wings. The hot and honey sriracha were phenomenal. It's easy to see why they have won so many awards. We also had the steamed clams, fried potstickers, and macaroni bites. All were winners. We liked it so much we ordered take out the next day. It wasn't as good as when we dined in. We got more wings which were great and didn't disappoint. However we got a pizza that was bland and missing cheese from half of it and a cheesesteak sub that had no condiments on it (even though I requested some). We would return to Old Union Hotel but only to dine in and it would be hard to order anything besides those amazing chicken wings. read more

A great pick in the area to stop for great food, and indeed it was. The interior of this restaurant has many decors that are appealing to look at, most of which contain the old western feel. It took a bit to wait but we were seated once the table was cleared and ready. The tables were spread apart making enough room which made it convenient. Looking at the menu, the chicken wings are their big, "go-to," so tasty, smelly, and delicious. Of course, it will be messy, so napkins are extremely helpful. They also offer other foods which contain burgers, pizza, soup, sandwiches, salads, etc., you name it, all tasty. If only I lived closer, I'd be here a lot! The only drawback I have are, the waiting area blocks the kitchen door, also, the men's bathroom is right in the corner where someone could be hit, and the parking lot can be a major task. It would be awesome to see an improvement in that. Besides that, make this your stop in the area! Food = 5+ Issues mentioned = 3 read more

Perfect dive bar. Food was good, bartenders and locals were friendly. Good selection of beers on tap. While I was there, they did a brisk takeout business. I had a burger that was exactly what I was in the mood for and I hear the wings are great - I'll try them next time. read more

The first time I went to The Union Hotel was on Monday Wing Night. The wings were great! I Our server, she was wonderful. We had a big table in the front window, looking out to Clinton Street where you could see the side of a building, that was your view as you dined. Maybe frost the windows so just the light comes in. We had such a good time that my daughter and I came back a couple months later with my dad. The atmosphere was totally different. Our server was terrible. She was more interested in talking to her friends in their little service area, which was 10 feet from our table. My dad is 90 years old so it was very loud in there for him. They put us right in the middle of the room. I'm trying to walk my father through. We couldn't hear anything. People were rude. I didn't like the way my father was disrespected. I won't go there again. I read more

We were back again on a visit home. The service was perfect as everything came out on time and was cooked perfectly. I had the Prime Rib sandwich and the portion of fries with my sandwich was perfect it seems they always overload the plate with fries you will never finish. Great food. Nice friendly people. Food is reasonably priced. Always open. Breakfast includes coffee before 11:00.

These wings never disappoint. They're always crispy with the perfect amount of sauce. These are honestly the best wings in town and the only reason I come back. We came on a Monday for wing night but there's a national wing shortage so they weren't doing the discount, but I still had to get the wings! The service, however, leaves something to be desired. I came just about a week ago and the servers were barely wearing masks - more like chin straps (if that's important to you). Service is a bit slow for bar food. The wings honestly make up for all of this but I'd recommend doing take out read more

First time here. These are legitimately the most meaty and crispy wings I have ever had! The Carolina Gold sauce is UNREAL. It's a combo of honey mustard and bbq sauce. The employees here are very attentive, friendly, and honest. (I may have accidentally forgotten to grab my purse on the way out... a very sweet employee quickly recovered my mistake for me.. THANK YOU!). We will be back!!! read more

The food itself was great. Love their wings and the garlic parm fries were crispy and had great flavor. The service was average at best. Typical bar style service and look inside. The biggest disappointment was the $4 charge if you use anything other than cash. I mean $4 to use a debit card seems a little steep. Passing the cost of doing business on to the customers and then some. read more

Love this place great food and service for me number one place to go wings are the best

I have always loved going to the Union for their honey siracha wings. My favorite. That's all I ever order. In the past year I have been so disappointed. The wings are still full of crunch and cooked perfectly BUT the sauce is not what it used to be to be. In the past year it has changed. I was there a day ago hoping it was going to be back to the yumminess it used to be to be and it was actually even worse. There's no kick in flavor and lack of sauce that makes me scrape the sauce off the plate with my wing was making me wonder what has happened to the best wings in my opinion. I would have to always wash my hands before leaving and I didnt have to. What is going on? I want the old saucy yumminess back! PLEASE!!!! read more

Great food! Reasonable prices. Sometimes they have love music. Outside seating is nice. Will go again.

The food and service is second to none. Everything came on time and was piping hot just like I like it. Decor is typical bar decor.

Skin SO crispy, meat So Tender! Best wings by a wide margin in the United States! The food here is exquisite! This is a dive bar extraordinaire and the clientele is wonderful. You can sit in the bar area and soak up the local culture with great music or sit in the dining room for a more sedate environment but the Old Union Hotel is a home run! This place has been open since 1888 and is usually packed with good reason--it's excellent! The service is beyond exceptional and if you don't appreciate the tin ceilings and ambiance, you're brain dead. This is one of the most exceptional local bar experiences ever. Absolutely a can't miss opportunity if you're in the area!! I'd give it 6 stars if I could. read more

After a family trip to the finger lakes we were told "we HAVE to make a pit stop here for amazing wings." We decided to try the Buffalo garlic parm and Carolina gold. We also tried some eggplant fries and their spiedie salad. The Buffalo parm wings were pretty solid very crispy and moist. However, they were a little too mild in my opinion. I did like that they sprinkled lots of cheese and garlic on top. The Carolina gold were actually my favorite they had a very unique and delicious flavor. The eggplant fries were tasty and the portion was very generous for a side. Unfortunately, the spiedie salad was my least favorite (sorry Binghamton natives!) Overall we had a great time trying their wings there was ample seating and our waiter was very friendly. I would return! read more

Stopped in to Binghamton for a family get together. Overall we love going to the Union. The food is consistently good and most of the time the service is outstanding. Two reasons I can't give it a 5 star rating: 1) The wings have gone down hill significantly. The sauce flavors are still solid but the wings have been so small lately I've regretted ordering them. 2) At my most recent visit the waiter serving the booth next to us was vaping while serving the booth (it was obvious he new the customers but was not a good look for all the other patrons to see). That being said we will be back soon, but no more wings, unfortunately. read more

Good food, cold drinks and quick service wrapped up in an old building. What more does one need?

I wish there was a way to give 4.5 stars because that's a more accurate rating. Parking is a challenge. We went on a Wednesday evening and it was packed. The bar is a 50 and older crowd which was a welcome break from the downtown college bars. It was expectably loud. The whole place was packed. Our server was fine but seemed like the busyness of the evening was getting to her. The food was good. There was nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't special. I would definitely order the same thing again since there was nothing wrong with it. If you're looking for fairly basic food that is good then this is a great place to go. read more

Tried this place for the first time today. It was around 2:30 on a Saturday. Parking was easy in the little lot on the side of the building, but I can imagine it being tougher in the evening. We're always a bit intimidated walking into a bar where the 'vibe' is unknown, but it's a 'sit wherever' type place, you don't need to wait to be seated. There are 4 sections-the loudest and most crowded is near the bar; then there is another room that is less loud has some booths; a third atrium sunroom type room that is quiet; then an outside dining area. We sat in the 3rd section. Great service, very nice waitress. Food is bar food, but really good: Fried green tomatoes were delicious. Burger was cooked a perfect medium rare. Poutine was gooey goodness. Cajun wings were crispy and flavorful with a really great dry rub. Cocktails were big and tasty. They were doing brisk business on a Saturday afternoon, so I think it might be too busy to enjoy in the evening. It might just be one of our afternoon, early dinner places. read more

This place has amazing food, you cannot complain. And a nice outdoor patio if the weather is okay.

As an update, I tried their garlic parm dry rubbed wings as takeout. I've had some amazing ones in the past, so given the quality of their other wings I had high hopes. Not appetizing. It looks like they were made by dunking them in garlic sauce then sprinkling them with parm. Did not hold the flavor at all. Just dry and flavorless. And for good measure, a fly came out of my takeout bag when I opened it. And they don't take American Express. read more
