My boyfriend has been telling me about this place for a while now and about how they have the best chicken wings he's ever had. And here's the thing... I'm not a huge fan of chicken wings, but guys... Guys... GUUUUUUYS. The chicken wings here are legit DELICIOUS. The vibe of the restaurant is just chill and relaxed. It's clean, the service is great (the server took care of drink refills without us asking, checked back with us regularly & in a timely manner, and brought the items from our order out as they were ready), and the price point is great for what you get as well. We ordered 4 different kinds of wings - Cajun, Black Cherry Pepper BBQ, Carolina Gold (the star of the show), and Hot Honey Garlic. I'm a bit of a lightweight when it comes to heat, so I didn't try the Cajun... but I loved the bit of fruit flavor from the black cherry wings, and really enjoyed the bit of spice from the hot honey. Those Carolina Gold wings though... I would come back again and again for those alone. Consider me a chicken wing convert, I guess! ALSO... I almost forgot that we have the buffalo chicken eggrolls as an appetizer. Perfectly crunchy outer eggroll with delicious buffalo chicken inside. Cannot wait to go back! We needed snacks and a drink and we needed a good drive on a Sunday! So glad we stopped here, will absolutely be a new place to get our favorites! The vibe of this place is exactly what's needed in America. I wish there were more places like the Union Hotel. It looks so fun and funky, everything is clean and I'm being serious, it's clean! Fried cheese curds and fried pickles...if that's all we ordered we were already hooked! Then our wings came!!! My wife and I ate at here tonight and really enjoyed our experience. Mandi was a very helpful server and very accommodating to our needs. We tried the Fried Pierogies which were covered with a Buffalo sour cream sauce, the Texas Roadhouse Burger and the Chicken Philly Cheesesteak. Yelp suggested The Old Union Hotel with a four star recommendation, so we gave it a whirl after a long morning of touring Binghamton University. We immediately came to a consensus that we were going to go with the wings. They had so many flavors from which to choose! Ultimately, we decided on parmesan garlic, honey garlic, and medium. Had no wait time, but they were fairly busy throughout out time there Went here for wings all the time when I went to school and am happy to report they're just as good as i remembered! I'll still put these on the pedestal as the best wings I've ever had. I had the Carolina gold, honey sriracha, and hot. If I had to pick just one I'd go with the hot, but they're all fantastic If you're in the area it's an absolute must, really if you're coming within an hour of the area I can't recommend going out of your way for them enough It's otherwise a run of the mill sports bar. I truly enjoyed the food there, especially the wings, these are not tiny little no nothing wings, these wings are a good size and the sauces are very tasty, which is a good thing, because that is how you're going to get your flavoring of the wings, as these wings are not seasoned. I've been here three times now and and I am planning a fourth time coming up soon. My first time here I thought the food and service was amazing, the second time not so much, the waitress took our order and never came back to our table until it was time to check out, she even was borderline rude when I had a complaint about the watered down drink I received. I believe that was due to melted ice by sitting on the bar for a little bit before it was picked up and brought to me. There was a few other mishaps but I won't go into detail, because even though I vowed never to return, I was missing those wings too much. So the next time I went I sat at the bar and again I had amazing service with great food! And then the third time I went again amazing service with great food! So the Old Union is back on! The food here lives up to the hype! We dined in on a busy Friday night. Service was great and we were seated right away, despite being there during a peak time. We ordered several types of wings. The hot and honey sriracha were phenomenal. It's easy to see why they have won so many awards. We also had the steamed clams, fried potstickers, and macaroni bites. All were winners. We liked it so much we ordered take out the next day. It wasn't as good as when we dined in. We got more wings which were great and didn't disappoint. However we got a pizza that was bland and missing cheese from half of it and a cheesesteak sub that had no condiments on it (even though I requested some). A great pick in the area to stop for great food, and indeed it was. The interior of this restaurant has many decors that are appealing to look at, most of which contain the old western feel. It took a bit to wait but we were seated once the table was cleared and ready. The tables were spread apart making enough room which made it convenient. Looking at the menu, the chicken wings are their big, "go-to," so tasty, smelly, and delicious. Of course, it will be messy, so napkins are extremely helpful. They also offer other foods which contain burgers, pizza, soup, sandwiches, salads, etc., you name it, all tasty. If only I lived closer, I'd be here a lot! The only drawback I have are, the waiting area blocks the kitchen door, also, the men's bathroom is right in the corner where someone could be hit, and the parking lot can be a major task. The first time I went to The Union Hotel was on Monday Wing Night. The wings were great! I Our server, she was wonderful. We had a big table in the front window, looking out to Clinton Street where you could see the side of a building, that was your view as you dined. Maybe frost the windows so just the light comes in. We had such a good time that my daughter and I came back a couple months later with my dad. The atmosphere was totally different. Our server was terrible. I have always loved going to the Union for their honey siracha wings. My favorite. That's all I ever order. In the past year I have been so disappointed. The wings are still full of crunch and cooked perfectly BUT the sauce is not what it used to be to be. In the past year it has changed. I was there a day ago hoping it was going to be back to the yumminess it used to be to be and it was actually even worse. Overall we love going to the Union. The food is consistently good and most of the time the service is outstanding. Two reasons I can't give it a 5 star rating: 1) The wings have gone down hill significantly. The sauce flavors are still solid but the wings have been so small lately I've regretted ordering them. 2) At my most recent visit the waiter serving the booth next to us was vaping while serving the booth (it was obvious he new the customers but was not a good look for all the other patrons to see). After a family trip to the finger lakes we were told "we HAVE to make a pit stop here for amazing wings." We decided to try the Buffalo garlic parm and Carolina gold. We also tried some eggplant fries and their spiedie salad. The Buffalo parm wings were pretty solid very crispy and moist. However, they were a little too mild in my opinion. I did like that they sprinkled lots of cheese and garlic on top. The Carolina gold were actually my favorite they had a very unique and delicious flavor. The eggplant fries were tasty and the portion was very generous for a side. Unfortunately, the spiedie salad was my least favorite (sorry Binghamton natives!) Tried this place for the first time today. It was around 2:30 on a Saturday. Parking was easy in the little lot on the side of the building, but I can imagine it being tougher in the evening. We're always a bit intimidated walking into a bar where the 'vibe' is unknown, but it's a 'sit wherever' type place, you don't need to wait to be seated. There are 4 sections-the loudest and most crowded is near the bar; then there is another room that is less loud has some booths; a third atrium sunroom type room that is quiet; then an outside dining area. We sat in the 3rd section. Great service, very nice waitress. Food is bar food, but really good: Fried green tomatoes were delicious. Burger was cooked a perfect medium rare. Poutine was gooey goodness. Cajun wings were crispy and flavorful with a really great dry rub. Cocktails were big and tasty. They were doing brisk business on a Saturday afternoon, so I think it might be too busy to enjoy in the evening. It might just be one of our afternoon, early dinner places. read more

The bar is a 50 and older crowd which was a welcome break from the downtown college bars. It was expectably loud. The whole place was packed.
