I'd give it a 2.5 but I would rather round up since it's in a prime location and I used to look up to it more. It won't be your busiest bar or anything crazy but it's standard and has a couple different vibes within it which I found cool. The cover and price of drinks are a bit high for its location and what it offers read more

Love this place recommend to any and everyone If your looking to have a nice fun night out with your other half this is the place to go

I try to visit Dillengers every 3 or 4 weeks I'm in town from Baltimore, MD. I get more than a fair pour on my drinks, the service is great, and the bar and bathrooms are always clean... See you again soon, ladies! E :) read more

Filled with a bunch of underage kids getting drunk that don't look a day over 15. Not the place it used to be 5 or so years ago. $5 cover charge just to come in, no band or anything, they just want to charge you to come in and see all of the underage kids they're illegally allowing in. read more

I give every venue Two opportunities before providing a review so keep this in mind. This place is terrible from the door. So I'll begin with not everyone has to pay upon entry; however myself and my company was charged $5 CASH per person just to enter the bar. It's not a night club, but we were charged. Upon entry it is crowded, the floor is wet and sticky. The music is a combination of early 2010s pop hits and Nothing remotely current. Absolutely nothing released within the last 6 months. Which is fine for a bar but if you're going to charge at the door at least have good music. Attempting to order a drink was extremely difficult. The service was UNACCEPTABLE! I was ignored by everyone behind the bar. I made eye contact with several employees as attempting to get a bartender's attention and was ignored by everyone. Attractive women will receive faster service and cheaper drinks. The reviewer I was with was charged $18 for 2 drinks. I was charged $22 one night and $30 for the same order. So overcharged for drinks I had the previous night, and then the reviewer I was with getting the exact same order for almost half the price was ridiculous. The bartender was rude and cursed at me for not tipping. After charging at the door, IGNORING ME, and OVER CHARGING ME. Needless to say this place is not worthy of a neither a visit noor the ridiculous crowds of people obsessed with this terrible experience of a "good time" read more

Yall need to prep orange slices for the blue moons. Are we no better than the beasts in the field??? Respectfully.

We stopped in for a quick drink as Dillinger's was right across from our hotel. A long and narrow Irish pub that must get packed on weekends. My clue was the sheer size of the bathrooms downstairs that my husband compared to stadium sized. Interesting cast of characters, from a guy with sunglasses dancing in the middle of the place by himself, taking selfies with his rear facing phone camera, to a group of girls with brightly colored hair, dropping glasses on the floor. Good selection of music- mostly dance pop and 90s rap. Not much else to say as we only popped in for one beer. As we left, the streets were being taken over by college kids, and this signaled to us it was time to head back to the hotel and get some shut eye. read more

Stop dilly dallying and get yourself down to Dills for a great time! The most enjoyable place to go downtown and the bartender Matt is the best! read more

They are refusing to follow social distancing mandates by allowing too many students in at one time. Shame on them.

Dillingers Celtic Pub & Eatery - The FAKE fries!!!!! - Pubs Near Me - Binghamton, New York

Typical college bar with an atypical bartender. Walking into this packed bar after a wedding reception (right next door) was an interesting time. Things were pretty good as our bartender had been our bartender at the hotel bar the previous evening. When you're from out of town, seeing a slightly familiar face makes a difference. They have no draft beer which is a big minus in my book. Their bottle selection was not fantastic but I was able to drink Hoegaarden and Smithwick's for the evening. No one really got in our way or bothered us which was nice. Anyhoo she kept our drinks full and the service was prompt and attentive. The prices here are pretty low and every 3 minutes the DJ kept reminding the crowd about $2 shots. Ahh college bars... read more

Good size and very clean bar. The staff maintains it well and are friendly. The service is quick. The crowds are friendly. I recommend trying the food. Good wings and overall menu of typical bar food. They don't serve draft beer, but have the best selection of bottled beer downtown. Seating outback and on the side patio is comfortable and private during the warm summer months. A good local favorite. read more

Everytime I'm in the Binghamton area, my girlfriend and I always end up at Dillingers. It's a typical college bar scene with pretty good drink specials and a lot of open space for plenty of people. This place does get packed on Friday and Saturday nights. The downstairs portion of Dillingers is nice for getting drinks at the bar and the upstairs is more of a night club. They have a DJ going with strobe lights and dancing. It's a lot of fun. Overall, Dillingers is a fun spot to head to on the weekends. I would recommend it. read more

Mocking fire victims and deleting comments on Facebook. Management seems like they just don't care about reviews and that says a lot a out how they probably take care of the food and drinks. I would avoid this place until they address their issues. read more

Recently a local small business that is no where near this establishment burnt to the ground. It was incredibly sad as the place had been in business for years and years. The owner of this establishment put out a sign basically making a huge joke in the fact that they burnt to the ground but he would gladly take there business with "smokin hot deals". He even went as far to as to name the place that burnt on his sign. He has not offered any public apology or remorse. Do not support this small business owner as he refuses to support others sickening! read more

dillingers is relatively new to state st (i think it opened summer '05). it's pretty clean, a little older crowd. nice outdoor patio area. bar music, sort of like tony's (bon jovi, classic rock...) ive never eaten there but im sure they have standard bar food. it's a pretty fun time at dillingers, though usually a place to start off your night then move on to the rat or sportsbar read more

Easily one of the dirtiest places in Binghamton. Over priced and just downright diseased, both in the actual environment and in the staff. I couldn't warn you against this place more. read more

I visited this pub last night. I was visiting Binghamton from Richmond, VA for business. My visit began with a friendly greeting at the entrance and received another friendly greeting when I approached the bar. The bartender and owner are very kind and fun. The beer was cold and delicious with many choices available. This is a great pub and the staff represents the friendly culture of Binghamton. read more

Low blow to make fun of not only a business that burnt and is a total loss, but all the people living above it that lost everything. Then, you give a "thumbs up" and acknowledge you did it and have no remorse. I'm glad the media picked it up, awful business. Keeping selling to underage kids! read more

Fun place to go on the weekends when you're 16-20 years old. If I could describe the smell of the 2nd floor, it would be somewhere along the lines of an ogre fucking my great grandmothers armpit. There's a cover charge (if you can believe that). The bartenders are pretty cool but other than that you could definitely find something better to do with $3 on a Friday night. read more

Racist and homophobic staff that take your money and don't let you back in even though you have a marking on your hand from them. It's a shame, because they're otherwise good. Great 2 floors, big bathrooms, nice outdoor patio area, 2 big bars with wide drink selection. But yeah, the staff ruins it all. I would give 0 stars if I could. Total jerks (wish I could say a stronger word but I won't on Yelp) avoid!! Especially if you're a Bing student, just go literally anywhere else there are so many better options. Example: my friend and I noticed a guy at the bar who seemed entirely too intoxicated and was trying to ask for water. My friend got the bartender's attention first, and asked for water for the drunk guy. The bartender said, "yeah, we all need water," and moved on to the next person. We never got water. read more

It seems that Dillingers Celtic Pub & Eatery has a desire to begin closing their business down...with such inappropriate signs, as they had displayed, reveling in the tragic loss suffered by the Brackney Inn on Friday night. To even THINK that creating a sign like this, had any level of positive aspect to it, is disturbing. Another shining example of what is WRONG with society today. The owners of this establishment must not consider that acts, like this, can't be taken back, nor will they be forgotten. Pray that your business or those in your employ, who prescribe to this form of so-called "humor" ,never have to face such tragedy in their lives, like the owners, the residents (yes, people actually made their homes in apartments there), and the community that enjoyed and supported the Brackney Inn for all these decades....really sad, that decent people have to have trash like this exist in the world. read more

The food is horrible and the service offered by the wait staff was not up to par of many of the surrounding establishments. Pretty much, skip this place. If I could give this place zero stars I would. read more

Dillinger's is a clean, sterile restaurant/pub on the south end of State Street bar row. My biggest problem with the joint is that they serve all their beer in bottles. What kind of Irish pub is that? Pints! We want pints! But aside from that, this place was pretty solid. Their menu is small, but some good options (I enjoyed the pulled chicken BBQ sandwich - although its not as good as the one you'll get at Lost Dog Cafe). The insides are immaculately clean and done in a dark wood style, which is appealing to the eye. So its good for a pub style dinner. Not so good if you're looking for a pint or two in a true Irish Pub style atmosphere. read more

Ditto Patrick's opinion on the bottles. I want my beer on tap, dammit! The Long Island iced tea (made with ginger ale, huh??) was strong and made tolerable the excruciating playlist (HOT HOT HOT?? What is this, the 1990s bar mitzvah I bespoke in my review of Rudy's Beau Rivage?? Ye gods!). The side room is ideal for card playing or schmoozing, more my cup of tea than the teeming main room. Completely average acceptable DT bar option, and definitely less sketchy than some others. read more

This review is strictly for the dance loft upstairs. But in terms of the entire place, it's extremely clean and classy. Even the bathrooms were clean, which is quite a rare find on State Street. First off, no cover. That's awesome! My friend and I went upstairs to the dance loft and it is really nice up there. Super clean and still had a hint of that "new" smell. They play mostly electro house and progressive house. I heard one dubstep track. The DJ was legit and good! No playing off an iPod, no horrible transitions, this guy was for real. I had a blast dancing for 2 and a half hours. This place really isn't your typical college bar as one guy on here said. I say that because the typical college bars on this street are so packed you can't move, their drinks are severely watered down, and you can wear almost anything and get in. At Dillingers, there's tons of space (at least in the dance loft) and you can move around, no drinks are watered (at least that I saw), and guys must wear a collared shirt to enter the dance loft. Hands down, favorite bar on State Street. read more

My favorite bar in Binghamton. It's much more clean than the neighbors up and down State Street. Always clean, much more room now that they have opened the other side and extra patio space in the summer for the smokers. They don't take credit cards, which I think keeps away certain people. They don't have draft beer, which again keeps away certain people. Are either of those a good thing or a bad thing? I don't know. I can still have fun paying cash to drink bottled beer. At least the place is clean and the beer is cold. read more

My favorite bar when I was at SUNY Binghamton, unfortunately it opened my senior year so that doesn't say much about the others nearby. This place was always very clean, not too packed, service was good, and the crowd of people were always the best out of the choice of bars. They also have a nice little outside area in the back. I'm not a big bar person so if my friends wanted me to go out this is where I was going. read more

Clean, big, okay crowd. I don't appreciate that beer is bottle-only, and that they won't take credit cards. What is that? And I agree with Alexandra; the bathroom is indeed "faaar away." Especially problematic for me - I should be on a Detrol commercial. read more

Last night was a perfect evening to be on the Patio at Dillengers! I was with four friends trying out their new menu! The menu has several gluten free options as well as delicious baked chicken wings! Not your typical greasy bar fare. Eric (the server) took excellent care of us.I recommend his Cosmopolitans! ! Dillengers has two levels. The Main Floor has the Patio, a smaller more intimate dining area, and the main bar with a DJ. While upstairs has a Nightclub!!! It's refreshing to have a clean, well run establishment in the area. Try the new menu! You will not be disappointed! read more

Only decent place left on state street. The ONLY thing that I would improve is to build a bathroom upstairs.

Probably the only place to go dancing with a young crowd. College students, graduates, young adults. Cheap drinks and good looking crowd. Didn't come for the food. Got there around midnight and it was nicely packed with women. read more

I've probably never said this about a bar or pub but Dillingers is beautiful. Dark woodwork and bar, tin ceilings, wood floors. Just so pretty. It's also HUGE. There are two bars downstairs and one upstairs. There is also one outside and a huge patio area that wraps around the building when it's warm enough to be outside. There are large tables in the newer side of the bar where you can eat or grab a drink with a big group. It's walking distance to the Broome County arena so it's an ideal location to have food or beverages before or after the game. It's undoubtedly the nicest bar in downtown Binghamton so do yourself a favor and go! read more

This place was really disappointing as it seems to have great potential. The food was pretty poor (burger undercooked and then overcooked) and bland. The beer selection is pretty good but not what I expected. Maybe if I had visited when the whole town wasn't at the baseball game, the experience would have been better. read more

For my age folks (mid 40's)...this a great after work joint. It starts to get pretty crowded with the younger crowd, which I find energizing, after 8--but that does not change how cool the place is. The staff is great. Glad I found it. read more

Cool looking bar filled with locals. Has pool table.

Bouncer was great, all though one of the bartenders on the bottom part of the bar was terribly rude. My friend opened up a tab and purchased me a drink, as the bartender was making my drink I proceeded to go through my purse getting one dollar bills out to tip him as I was setting one of the bills down we accidentally bumped into each other which caused a spill of the beverage. I apologized many times and the male bartender just gave a very rude look and I immediately picked the tip back up and put it right back in my purse. Very rude staff, not bright people at all. read more

This bar is the most disrespectful piece of garbage. talking down about a local bar and an accident that caused that business to close PERMANENTLY instead of supporting their business that has been around for many many many years is so low. Congrats on losing a ton of customers and showing everyone your respect for supporting local businesses. Good luck in your bar being successful, you'll need it. read more

I strongly advise that no spend time or money in this place. They openly mocked another local business that was destroyed by fire. They see no need to apologize for the offense either. This local business had been built in 1849 and had been a big part of many people's lives And Dillingers had the audacity to mock them publicly by even placing a sign on the street. Don't give these bums your money, please. read more
