We live within a stone's throw of Toppers. Despite the other review, there really is no violence problem at this bar. It is a nice crowd that varies from younger folks during the weekend to older folks any day of the week and mostly West Corners, Endicott locals. Great food, great bands, and a wonderful staff. The Nuclear/Suicide wings are some of the hottest I have eaten in this area so be warned. The icecream nextdoor is very good too. Ask for Jimmy the icecream man. read more

Absolutely ridiculous experience. Went here for my sistets 21st birthday and she had a valid temporary ID issued by the DMV showing she was 21, yet the bartender refused to serve her because she didn't have the plastic card yet. Apparently government-issued documentation isn't good enough for this place. What made it worse was the attitude. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the bartender came across as rude and power-tripping. There was no effort to explain the policy respectfully--just a dismissive "no" and an unpleasant attitude that made us feel unwelcome. I understand checking IDs and following the law, but customer service costs nothing. If your staff can't treat paying customers with basic respect, maybe they shouldn't be working in hospitality. We left frustrated and took our business elsewhere. Definitely won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun night out. read more

Oof. I used to hang out here when I was underage. It was a cool dive bar. Now it's expanded and is bigger but is a hick bar. Maybe it was back then as well and I just didn't know any better. I wish I hadn't stopped in for old times sake. Yuck. read more

Topper's, oh Topper's. Topper's is really close to my place, and I've only ever been after bar crawling at other joints. So - I guess I've only been there around midnight or later. It's cheap! You can get pint drafts for 2.00 or 2.50. (I've never seen anyone drinking anything but beer by draft or bottle or can. Yes, they serve cans.) You can play pool! (Only 1.00, I think.) There's a Golden Tee from, like, 2003 in the corner, too. And some pinball? There are sticky tables. There are lots of beer signs, natch. It smells of cigarette smoke because people smoke in the doorway. I think it's where the locals go. I've never seen anyone there in their 20s/the college/grad/young professional type. So, if you don't want to be around the (yes, admittedly obnoxious at times) school folk, it's fun if you're in the mood to go to a dive and watch people different from the people at the college bars. And if you want a beer and only a beer. Sometimes they have music on the weekends. The first time we went there was a band called Remedy - they covered classic rock. It was surreal and so entertaining - a bunch of the locals (women of a certain age - perhaps the mom jeans type, ahem) were dancing barefoot, letting their hair down (literally), shaking their badunkadunks in lascivious ways while their husbands (and we) looked on. So - it's a dive. Not a "dive" like some might call Kelly's or other places on Page in Endicott. Like, a real dive. Local color and all. A dive dive. read more

The last time I was here (it's really close to my place), we saw two guys beating the hell out of each other in the parking lot. I didn't feel like my safety was in jeopardy, but that kinda thing just sets the tone for the place. Well, they have cheap beer and a pool table. And... uh... plenty of onsite parking? So if you're looking to get tipsy cheaply and you aren't hung up on things like class, give Topper's a shot. read more

Bottom line - the food here is on point. My personal favorite is the cheeseburger wrap. Recently got a new cook for a night or two per week and the food isn't as good when he cooks. Try to go when Mike is cooking. He's the one who makes their food so good. read more

Yes.. a dive bar in a non-hipster way. But seriously the best burgers in the greater Binghamton area. Good wings too and there is a good drink / food special every night but Saturdays. A local place for sure, but often a decent band on weekend nights and better than average bar food. Older comments say a lot about fights... been going about 2-3 years and only saw one once and it was new years with beer muscles looking at each other wrong in the parking lot (not in the bar). Not your Cosmo crowd for sure if you need that, but no place in Endicott is. read more

I went to Toppers in June..and enjoyed my experience. Nick Fuocos band Cold Ethyl was there performing all of Alice Coopers best hits from the 70's. It was a great show. He poured gasoline all over himself. I thought it was just water and was just a gag but then he accidentally lit himself on fire he was screaming and running all over the place. I thought it was part of the show. Then his flaming body caught part of the stage and cigarette machine on fire. we all had to evacuate. at least i got to play the golden tee machine and drink 2.00 bud lite cans..A real great place read more

Extremely poor service tonight. The young women behind the bar has no urgency, no regard to customer service, lacked experience was very evident. The food when it finally arrived (after stating it was to-go and was prepared as eat in) was very good. However the bartender who out in the order sent it to the kitchen incorrectly which resulted in one wrong sandwich, no chips and no fries. What we did get to eat was good - so 4 stars for the Kitchen staff.The service needs to improve or this place will lose business. read more

I was there once and saw nothing wrong with the place..... didn't get the negative feelings written by other reviewers. They had a great band playing, and the beer was less expensive than in other places. With affordable drinks and no cover charge to listen to great music.... that is a great combination for me. I will definitely go back for more. read more
