We have been wanting to stop at Irish Kevin's since we moved to the area and we had friends from out of town visiting, so we decided to go for dinner last night. Our waitress was very friendly. We ordered Pickled coins, Irish nachos, and an order of pierogies for our appetizers. Everything was good, though the order of pierogies was small for the price, we all enjoyed them. For our entrees, we ordered the Corned Beef w/ chips, 2 - Chicken Mango Habanero sandwiches, one with regular fries and one with sweet potato fries, Sriracha Glaze wings, and a Turkey Club w/ fries. The Corned beef sandwich was bland and didn't have a lot of flavor and the coleslaw was very watery so the sandwich was soggy in the middle. The homemade chips were very good though. The Club sandwich had a thick layer of onion that killed the taste of the rest of the sandwich, even after it was taken off. The Chicken Mango Habanero sandwiches came out and the chicken was black and burned to a crisp!! I took the worst of the two up to the counter to have it remade and was informed that they looked like that because of the oil they were using, and if they remade it, it would still look like that, so I asked for it to be taken off the bill. Overall, the atmosphere was good,and they have a nice bar, but there was a very strong "sewage" smell in the women's bathroom and they put air fresheners in the floor drain where the smell was coming from, and the food was not great. With our drinks (we were there for a couple hours and there were 6 of us) and food, our bill was over $200. We might go back for drinks since it's close to home, but will not be ordering food again. Went there to watch Mets game as we have for other sports games as they have allot of tvs so you can watch more than one sports event there at the same time. The couple next to us wanted to watch a hockey game we were both told by waitress that she was to busy to change channels to what we wanted and it seemed like she did not know how. Ordered a pitcher of beer and if we did not watch her poring beer we would have gotten the a different beer she had to pour the wrong pitcher out! Wanted to order food but was told they didn't have any chicken and she did not come back to ask if we wanted to order anything. She said she was the only waiter there. I get it but all we wanted to do was watch the game and order some food and relax. Just after we got our drinks a yelling match and a fight was ready to break out between two guys at opposite ends of the bar. So for safety reasons as I was with my wife and daughter we got up and left and was chased down by the waitress to pay for the beer we were not able to drink! I wish she was that responsive with working to kick the people out who were fighting or with the safety needs of the patrons. We didn't want to stick around and see if the fight esculated or what was going to happen especially these days. We didn't leave to skip out on paying as we had hardly touched our drinks and were looking forward to watching the game and getting something to eat and relaxing. I payed her for the beer and more as I was told that I cant just leave for paying for the drinks I did not have per our waitress. She did not find it fitting to call the cops about the fight in the bar but my bet is she would have called them if I did not pay for our drinks sitting on the table when we left! I will not be back and I was pretty pissed that I actually paid for something I did not get to enjoy and the safety of my family was not as important as few bucks for a beer! Cheers! Wow! What happened to this once great place? Service was well over an hour. We were told "ten tables" came in all at once. No, actually we came in and then two behind us. The two behind us was served before us. The food came out. Buffalo dip was good but out of a medium paper soup container, it had an inch and half dip in it! What?!??! The pretzels are advertised with beer cheese and they came with cold nacho cheese. Loaded fries were full of grease and sog. Everything disgusting and disappointing. Love the look of the inside. Servers hair hanging down mid back by people's food on the tray, against NYS DOH laws. Just not the same Irish Kevin's as I remember not long ago sadly. read more

Surprised I didn't write one of these before, seeing as this is my favorite pub. I love pub food, and Irish Kevin's does genuinely have the best Reuben I've ever tasted. The fries are kickass too, and the pretzels... man, you have GOT to have the pretzels. The southwestern burger is another favorite of mine -- it comes out and the onion rings are crisp, they always do my burger the way I like (medium with a twitch to the rare), and it has just enough of a spicy kick to be a wake up to the mouth. The drinks aren't creative or fancy, I'll be honest. They lack a blender, so anything with crushed ice is out of the question. However, I'm super fond of a rum and coke, and they make it strong and lovely. The service is friendly. I feel like I can call myself a regular by this point, and just about behind the counter knows me by name. They're very kind and open to striking up a conversation, tho that's not a thing I'm good at. The best part, for me, is the atmosphere. On nights when there's no game on, band, or trivia, it's beautifully quiet. Even when there are more people there, I can still count on being able to read my book without being bothered. And there's the clincher for me: no one bothers me. And I've brought other ladies with me, without being bothered by any other patron. Definitely a favorite place to go of a night. read more

Made a trip home to Upstate NY to watch March Madness with some buddies. We found this nice clean bar and decided to try it out. Great move. The food was bar food with kind of a twist. Had the buffalo chicken dip and coconut shrimp, both were outstanding and the sauce with the shrimp was amazing (they make wings with it, so that's next). Kevin was taking care of us at the bar and I couldn't ask for better. He made us the perfect "rotten apple" beers - basically a Black and Tan with Angry Orchard instead (see picture). The TV set up for watching games is as good as you can ask, which is impossible to find in the Binghamton area, and they have QuickDraw which is a bonus. Great staff, great food and nice and clean atmosphere - sports fans dream in my book. read more

Service was great- if you were wearing full bagpipe regalia. I get that this is an Irish pub, but their "pub fare" is bland, soggy fish and chips. And, our waitress ignored our table once the pipers came in. No offer of refills. Sat with empty plates 20 minutes before we got the check. You should have just turned over our table if you wanted the pipers as your favorite customers. Beer was cold. read more

I have been to Irish Kevins many times and always enjoyed it. However tonight changed my mind. I stopped in for dinner a few minutes 7 after tonight. As usual I sat at the bar. There were two other people at the bar, already served, and perhaps a dozen people all told in the restaurant. The bartender, a woman, completely ignored me as she prepared drinks for other customers. No "hello," no acknowledgement at all. Then a male bartender/waiter came behind the bar directly in front of me and also ignored me. When I asked for a menu he told me he was too busy to give me one. Finally he asked what I wanted to drink. I said I would like a menu first. He turned and walked away. When I said I guess I should go somewhere where I won't be ignored he said, "go, get out." I asked if either of the owners was there. Of course they weren't. If you can be sure that one of the owners is there this is a great place to go but avoid it when there is no adult supervision. Follow up: the owner said that the staff member in question accused me of using foul language and that he would check the surveillance video. He also said that he received a phone call, just as he was reviewing that video thanking him for throwing me out. When pressed about what was on the video, he has refused to respond. So, not only is the staff rude, but they and their friends are liars and the owner has no business sense whatsoever. Stay away. read more

My student organization from Binghamton University was planning an end of the year celebration event and reached out to Irish Kevin's as a possible venue. While a last minute change required us to change dates and therefore venues, Irish Kevin's was incredibly accommodating to us throughout the entire planning process. Their prices were more than affordable, they were able to provide us a semi-private space, and they even went above and beyond to ensure we had the date and time that we wanted most! I spoke to Kevin directly throughout this process and he was always prompt in his responses to me, I never went longer than a day without hearing back from him. While we did not end up holding the even there due to external circumstances, Kevin made the process incredibly easy for us. I strongly recommend anyone consider Irish Kevins for their next private event! read more

Just checked out this place and on first impressions, I liked it. The menu was great and I opted for the special which was a BBQ sandwich. I am not sure about this area, but the amount of sugar in the BBQ sauce seemed extreme. Coupled with the burnt potato chips, it was a lunch I would not repeat. I visit Irish Kevin's at least 2 times a month. Always provided service with a smile and the staff is very friendly. I have even seen the staff using sign language at times for their deaf customers. Just a great place to eat and throw back a few drinks. The only negative thing I can say is I wish their menu had more items on it. read more

pretty decent place but the kitchen is still working some kinks out. i went with a friend for lunch the other day. this place does have a lot of irish food, but i haven't eaten much irish food before so i figured i'd stick with some stuff i know, but i would like to try their more traditional irish items at some point. i went with an order of wings and a cheesesteak. i dunno what tempted me to get the cheesesteak, i only ever eat them if i'm in philly or i'm making them myself at home, but i gotta say this was pretty good, but with a couple minor complaints. the meat in it was very good, it seemed like fresh shaved steak as opposed to a steak-ums type product that gets chopped up but unfortunately there wasn't much of it on the sub. it was about an 8" sandwich and only enough meat to fill 2/3rds of it. it came with house cooked chips that were pretty good. i think it was about $8 for the chips and sandwich, which if it had a bit more meat on it would be a fair price. as for the wings, they were sold by the pound, which i thought was a bit odd, definitely a way to cheap out on the owners end. i believe they were $8 per pound, and as it turned out one pound was 9 wings. i asked for them to be cooked crisp and while they were good i wouldn't call them crisp. i got the medium sauce and i feel like it was just the right amount of heat, but still, $7 or $8 for wings is the standard in this area for an order of either 10 or 12, there's no reason this place should be any different. the bar itself is really nice. the only thing i thought was off was the exposed ceiling where everything was painted black. it works for some places but isn't what i have in mind for an irish pub. the bartender we had was very nice. the kitchen was taking a while with our food and she said they were still getting used to it so she offered us each a drink on the house. they have a decent beer selection, they have Switchback from Vermont which i have never seen around here before, the closest place i've seen it was at a bar in oneonta. it was about $5 a pint, which i expected, but i heard a guy next to me ask about prices for bud light and a can was $3 and bottle $3.50, which i thought was a little much. so based on that this is not a place i would go for a night of drinking, but it is nice that they offer good beers to go along with a meal. they have Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA on tap, which i love, but i thought it was odd that they didn't have any other SN products. the Rye IPA is a seasonal beer of theirs and i hope they get in other SN seasonals. they also had some good tequillas there but i'm afraid of how much a shot of it would cost haha. this place is new, but definitely worth checking out. i feel like they will be putting out some pretty quality food once they get a bit more settled in. read more

Friend stopped for lunch and had the reuben. Said it was pieces of meat not slices and didn't feel there was enough sauerkraut and dressing. Asked him how big it was and he said it wasn't even an inch thick. He brought me home a mushroom cheeseburger. There was no cheese on it and just a few mushrooms. Burger looked small so I got out my scale and weighed it. Just a drop over a quarter pound. Burger looked liked it was pan fried...course I could be wrong. Came with a few(6-7)chips and lettuce tomato. This burger cost 8.50. Remember ...No cheese. Since it didn't look like a nice char cooked burger I was expecting, I let my friend eat it and he was not crazy about it. Don't know how many cooks they have but you have to be consistence and get the order right. read more

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! I have never been to a bar with such bad service. It was not busy at all. We sat right at the bar and waited for 15 min for a beverage. The bartender was miserable and didn't smile once. It seemed like if you didn't know her or her know you, you were out of luck and not getting a drink. She was not attentive and lacked personality. Food has gotten better. A little shaky in the beginning but it has improved. The décor just doesn't meet my expectations of an Irish pub. But with those improvements the wait staff need some incredible help. They often stand around on the cell phones oblivious to waiting customers.. look over several waiting customers with a glassy eyed stare.. this includes all the staff even the owner. Don't get me wrong.. I like the place and the food is good.. but the staff need a kick in the butt. read more
