    The Seafood Czarina

Despite the ominous name, the restaurant was great. The food was amazing but the best part was the atmosphere. I felt like I was in an excellent club. The people were amazing. And overall, it was amazing.

Fantastic experience in the coolest small town in America

So... a lot has changed and the Cellar is under new management. First of all, bravo! It's better. The new owners have updated the interior and it's simply stunning. As is the food , the appetizers are better than ever. They now have calamari which is delicious. The smoked salmon is as great as ever and the entrees are well worth the price. This is a must visit restaurant in Owego and a true gem. Well done and highly recommended

Very enjoyable. Excellent food at a good price. Would love to try the lobster thermador but need to plan for the minimum 45 minute cook time.

We came too early for dining so we hung out at the bar for a bit. John, the bartender, is friendly & professional. In addition to the Beach Breeze he was able to create a Bushwacker. Very good. The Island Burger is deliciously juicy & tender. The House Salad, with dried cranberries & walnuts with a harvest dressing, also good. Our waitress is professional but not friendly. Elegant dining & atmosphere.

We booked this restaurant for our celebratory dinner for our son's graduation from BU. They put out a special, condensed menu for this weekend, as it's also Mother's Day weekend, and "we don't want our chef to be so overwhelmed by the crowd that they'd jump into the river!" according to our marvelous waiter, who was attentive, knowledgeable, efficient and with a great sense of humor (which adds value to our experience, making it ever more enjoyable). The river was out the dining room window, a gorgeous view to accompany our meal. We were all really hungry so ordered a lot of food. Every bite was amazing! We finished everything, even after we were all too full to eat any more. Just didn't want to waste such deliciousness. It was a perfect and memorable evening in every aspect!

After they marked all the menu items up they added another $1.87 for who knows what??

I always thought it was in a cellar so I never tried this place until yesterday. Come to find out it is under new ownership as of September. Anyway, the place is definitely old, as is the decor. It's nice and clean but very dated. And cold inside. There were plenty of servers there but because we sat in the bar area, the bartender John waited on us. He was nice enough but the service was weak at best. Had to ask for a refill, had to ask for the check..etc The food, well started with soup for my wife and I had the mussels in red sauce. Both were amazing and hot. My wife got a Sunday pre fix menu item, soup, chicken legs w mashed potatoes and green beans. I got a Ruben 'which they weren't supposed to serve on Sunday' requested on toast, not grilled. Everything on the chicken plate was cold. Cold mashed, cold chicken legs, lukewarm warm beans. Tasted like everything was sitting around in a warmer. My Ruben was grilled despite my request for it to be on toast. Thinnest Ruben ever. The two slices of bread were thicker than the filling. Very weak version on a Ruben. Kicker is they told us we could only order off the Sunday menu. A local couple came in next and they offered them the full regular menu. Special rules for regulars I guess. Kicker #2, they billed us at higher prices than the menu. I asked John about it and he said they are CC prices. You get a discount for cash. I think you're supposed to state on the menu that there is a service fee for CC's , it was just weird. I was also charged $3.10 for the tiniest 3 pcs of bread. And over $3 dollar for soda and tea is a little steep. One and done for us, not impressed at all... I would not recommend The Cellar!

I stumbled across The Farmer's Table last night on yelp, and perused through the breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I was intrigued! So tonight, I took a trip to Blossburg, and was impressed by the restaurant's cleanliness, the friendly staff, and the atmosphere that I would describe as modern farm- chic. The food- fresh and delicious! There were several options on the menu....it was difficult to decide! I went with the almond, cranberry, grilled chicken salad with a balsamic vinaigrette- the dish that initially caught my eye. My guest ordered a ribeye steak and was impressed by its taste and overall quality! If you are passing through Blossburg, or simply wish to support a small business, please stop by The Farmer's Table and give it a taste!

This is not going to be an easy review to write. I have so many conflicting thoughts and…read morefeelings... reviewing a restaurant should never be this dramatic! Seriously though... speaking as someone who was a partner in two restaurants in NYC for 4 years, who does not claim to "know it all" but knows some tricks of the trade... I think they've got great potential and would like to share my thoughts with them. Saying they've "got potential" probably come across as smug, obnoxious, and ridiculous, especially because they've got like 4.6 stars here on Yelp! And that's mainly why I found myself here... Staying in Mansfield for the night, I looked up restaurants that were enroute to our hotel. Some of them had 3 or 3.5 stars and I said "no way." But 4.6 stars with as many reviews as The Farmer's Table has? Absolutely! The atmosphere is a little bit diner but cozy enough and has the farm as a theme. There are some cool design elements, like the steel ceiling, the tables... The bathroom was clean and well stocked, and that's a really good sign that the place is sanitary and organized. The waitress was really, really nice... and we loved that we were in this tiny little town and yet she had this really cool, funky image. Great fingernails! I'm jealous! A tip for her to make service even better... think about sequence of service. Think about the extras that the customer will want with the specific thing they ordered so that they won't have to bother you. If they order something with fries, definitely put ketchup on their table, and do it before the food is delivered. There were also a lot of empty tables with salt shakers, but it's had none. Some customers notice these little things and appreciate a server who anticipates their needs. On the other hand, maybe she was just really slammed busy before we got there. My wife and I waited like 2 minutes for her to take my order and she apologized profusely for having us wait so long for her. I was like, "am I in Manhattan or wut???" She was on point, generally easy to find when we needed her, she was never trying to hide from customers (a huge no-no) and very well-intentioned. Definitely a keeper. The food though... I was surprised we didn't like it very much being the reviews were so good. When I got the check to pay, I asked the server what their most beloved and popular dishes are. She said that ppl order a lot of the prime rib sandwich, and also the cat fish. Incidentally, I had ordered the prime rib sandwich, and my wife had the breaded cat fish. I was expecting a lot more meat on my sandwich, and the bun was just a regular burger bun, but it was ok. It came with 3 slices of pickle and cost $11.90. I was still hungry after that so I finished my wife's catfish 'cuz she gets full easily. I liked the catfish more, but neither of us thought it was anything special. What was special were the prices. The catfish included 2 sides, and it cost less than $14. Being from NYC, it was so refreshing to see pricing that reminded me of year 2000! A burger for $7.85 that's not Burger King? Incredible! But the cole slaw... ewww. I didn't hate it, but I kind of forced myself to eat it even though it had a strange flavor. The sweet potato fries were ok. Everything was basically O.K. I imagine that, if I lived there, I would go pretty regularly cuz it's probably the best thing the neighborhood has in a few square miles, and it's easier and more fun than cooking at home (if you're not a cook and you're busy at work). But I think that some improvement in the food could make the place more of a destination. And a destination could actually bring more business to the surrounding businesses! I can understand if the townspeople want very basic food there, but at least offer a few specials that are fancier, better ingredients, something that stands out and is memorable. I know I'm spoiled coming from NYC... a 4.6 star review in places like Manhattan are different than a 4.6 star review in a small town. But this place has some nice things about it. Take it all the way!

Actually really enjoyed all of them. I normally go for darker beers, but the peach blonde was refreshing and would be perfect for summer. To start we ordered the spinach artichoke dip, which was OK but needed something crispy then pita. A toasted crostini was definitely called for. For entrées, we ordered two bistro burgers, which were both cooked nicely and complimented our beer nicely. Probably could've used a little more tomato jam, but we enjoyed our meal and the reasonable prices.
