The food is prepared very well. Owner gets his meat at Sweeney's in Apalachin, which is the best tender & fresh meat. Love their hamburgers, best around. Chicken spiedie salads and steak sandwiches are the best! Always find everything fresh and the waiters and waitresses friendly. Great place! Staff was receptive and friendly. There was 6 of us for lunch and they can accommodate larger parties. We started with 40 chicken wings and 2 orders of onion rings. The wings were extremely good. Wings had a crisp outer and a tender succulent inside. The wings were tossed in hot suace and a garlic sauce, it was very tasty. Onion rings were battered to perfection and fried to a golden goodness! Rings were above average size with a few stragglers that were under size. The taste was above average. I ordered a chicken Philly. This was my first time eating here and it was recommended from someone in my group that eats here often. The chicken Philly was a good size. The chicken was cooked, trimmed, and fried to exceed my expectations. It was topped with cheese, mushrooms, and peppers. It was so mouth watering that I ate it in about 30 seconds. We were rolling through Bingo'land on a weekend roadtrip down Memory Lane from when we used to live in the area, and a stop off for a cold one at Thirsty's made the itinerary. The hubbs had three draft beers, I had one vodka mixed drink, and the hubbs had an order of chicken wings. All in, the bill was just under $28. Not bad in this day and age for four libations and an order of decent wings! It was Saturday night when we stopped in, and the bar was dead, dead, dead, but the friendly bartenders kept us company. We remember coming to Thirsty's from time to time to watch sports when we lived in the area 10+ years ago, and the place has not changed a bit. 1/21/24 was my first and last visit to Thirsty's. We only went because beer thirty was closed. This place is DISGUSTING. The entire place is disheveled. The glasses were cold but the drinks from the tap were flat and almost room temperature. I got a fiddlehead and my friend got an angry orchard. Both $5 a piece. The younger gentleman who was bartending kept taking watered down shots with a crowd at the end of the bar. The woman who was working did nothing but complain to the couple next to us about how sick she's been. No one checked on us after we got our round of drinks. We had to flag them down to close the tab. We probably could have walked out un noticed. The top of the bar was cluttered with empty bottles. You have a visual of the cooking/prep area and it is not the cleanest. I would not even consider ordering food from there. read more

Stopped in to Thirsty's for lunch the day after Christmas. There were four of us. The waitress was dealing with probably 4 or 5 other tables, one of which was a table of about 6 or 7. She came up to us all frazzled talking about how "busy" it was. It was not that busy. And I just hate when servers start with that. Are you saying that upfront to warn us that your service is going to be bad? Overall, the service ended up being fine. She wasn't the most attentive, but she also wasn't the least attentive server I've ever had. It was pretty cold in the restaurant the day that we were there - like leave your jacket on at the table cold. They could definitely have turned up the heat for the customers. Anyways, all four of us got burgers. The burgers here are absolutely awesome. You can tell that they are not frozen patties and have tons of flavor. The fries are a strange hybrid of crinkle cut/steak fry/seasoned fry. They were actually pretty awesome and cooked perfectly! As a frequent relocator, I usually depend on Yelp to facilitate places that go. My fiance and I are much different when it comes to this. I'm a planner, he is a fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants kind of person. So we ended up at Thirsty's on a whim. I wish I would have been dressed more appropriately for a casual, relaxed bar atmosphere because we stuck out like to uppity urban sore thumbs. Thank goodness for their good drinks to calm my anxiety, as we looked like we stepped out of a J. Crew ad. The bar was moderately crowded with what seemed like regular patrons. This is very much a locals place. The decor is nothing special. It's a large open room with a wraparound bar on one side that has an open kitchen behind it. There are plenty of televisions to catch a game and a cold one with your buddies. It is quite cold in there, but if you sit at the bar, the heat from the ovens will keep you warm. We ordered a couple drinks and took a peek at the menu. We ended up ordering a cheesesteak and fries. After living in Philly, I have been on the hunt for a good cheesesteak, so I tend to order one where ever I go. The cheesesteak was ok, nothing great. The meat was dry and chewy. I have had a better one in town. It was served piping hot, so that was great. The service was definitely subpar, which was difficult to understand as there were two-three bartenders and half the time at least one was standing around talking to his or her friends who weren't even ordering anything at the bar. The drink prices were good, especially if you are ordering liquor. Absolut and Stoli were $4. I don't know about the rest of their liquor, but I can say from my personal experience, that is a great price. Canned beer was $3. If you come here, I would stick with liquor. Why order a can of Bud Light for $3? All in all, Thirsty's is a good casual bar to catch a game and a drink with some friends. Their prices are on point for the area. I really enjoy Thirsty's whenever I go. Maybe I'm a little biased because my band plays there (shameless plug - Rhythm & Brews - http://www.myspace.com/rhythmnbrews) but it seems like there's a little something for everyone at Thirsty's. They feature live bands on most Friday and Saturday nights complete with a stage nestled in the corner of the bar. For the sports fanatics, Thirsty's has plenty of flat-screen HD TVs all over the place. They also have a full food menu and about 10 tasty beers on tap. I've only had their food once and it was very tasty. Thirsty's also has a pool table and a digital jukebox. It's a great place to go with a big group of friends or just to grab a quick meal and a pint. read more

I'd venture to say that this bar has been around longer than I've been alive. It's pretty much a staple in the area and this was my first time going. It's absolutely a dive bar, but it was decent. I didn't have any food but I was pleased with the fact that the bartender took care of me. I askd for a Sam Boston and he told me he'd have to tap a new keg. Ok, no problem. A few moments later he came back and was level with me that it wasn't pouring right and he believed it was a bad seal, etc. I said it wasn't a problem and went with Summer Ale instead. I used my card and was told there's a $10 minimum (also fine) and proceeded to drink and laugh with my group. We ended up leaving before I ordered a 2nd drink so I went to pay and asked him to just run it for 2 beers since we were leaving and joked that I'd take a to-go cup though. Lucky for me and awesome of him, he only ran my card for $8. I'm only in the area once a month or so but I'd make it a point to stop in here again. I came here for a celebratory dinner for one of my coworker's on a Friday night. Service was kinda slow, they seemed understaffed that night..there was one girl taking care of all the tables...poor girl. We ordered appetizers, drinks and our meal. We got chicken wings and nachos for as an appetizer. I don't know about you, but I fucking love chicken wings! Their wings here were the perfect balance of crispy, juicy, and saucy! Everything a girl can want in a chicken wing. The nachos were mediocre. I mean, it's nachos. Mixed feelings. BEER: They have many taps, but mostly just swill. Unfortunately, the one or two nods to craft beer are always the most typical stuff (a couple Sam Adams and maybe a Blue Moon). FOOD: Traditional bar food which is usually tasty and plentiful. DECOR: A large single room facility in a small strip mall with pleny of parking in the adjacent lot. Brick walls, one large square bar in the center, with both low and high tables placed throughout. Lots of TV's (they do the NFL Sunday Package on game days). Nothing fancy but neither is it divey or run down. At night, the lighting is pretty dim, but during the day it is fine due to the many windows. PATRONS: Mostly local blue and white collar regulars. Very 'Binghamton' crowd. Pretty festive, especially during the NFL games on Sunday. OVERALL: A pretty good place to catch a game on Sunday, otherwise no special reason to go here unless you are one of the locals. read more

Decent space to meet up with friends. They have live music a lot. For some reason it's not my favorite place, but I don't dislike it. Service was friendly the last time I went with friends. The Reuben sandwich was "not for me". Good portion of meat, but cut way too thick with some gross fatty pieces. Fries were good. Pretty good for a dive/sports bar. Good selection of beers on tap, and the lunches are really good. The pulled pork BBQ was terrific, and the mac salad that came with it was certainly NOT from a food-service company (most bars that sell food today just buy crap mac salad). i've only been here to drink once but i recently got food from them a few times. i've lived pretty close to this place for a while but never really thought to get food here. the place is nice on the inside, the brickwork is awesome. i'm not really a fan of the crowd here though. when i went there some heavy metal band was playing, i think their name was Bloodshed. definitely not a fan, and it took forever to order a beer. onto the food. i went during lunch hours and it was a few older people and a couple of overweight girls talking about their issues with men. i decided to get takeout. i got a cheesesteak because one of my co-workers said this was the best one in the area. it was good but nothing i couldn't make better at home. they used quality meat but it could have used some seasoning. the mac salad was pretty good as a side. i also got an order of wings. their website says they sell by the pound but i got an order of 10. i got the medium sauce and it was pretty good but i think they season the wings with poultry seasoning and i'm not really a fan of that flavor on wings. after that first visit i went a few more times and had the pork BBQ and beef BBQ sandwiches. their menu claims that they are smoked and sauced with their house bourbon BBQ sauce. i tasted neither smoke nor bourbon, which are both pretty strong flavors. it tasted like the Lloyds BBQ you can get in the tubs at the grocery store. i also had the pork spiedies with fries. those were awful. the fries were ok but the spiedies were burned pretty bad and there wasn't much meat on the sandwich. the menu said the sandwich was an 8" roll but i actually measured and it was only 5". there were a few other things on the menu i wanted to try but i think i'm going to pass. some of the food is ok but don't expect everything to be homemade. prices were reasonable though. there are a lot of better places to eat and drink at in the area. read more

I've been here twice the first time i wasn't impressed that was during the day just in to get food. The staff didn't even notice or take care of one side of the bar where we were sitting. Chatting with i'm assuming regulars, so my first impression wasn't very good, so we tried again at night, oh boy staff is even worse, the bartenders are rude and never smile, and ignore you!
