I had only been to Harry Tufts once prior many years ago and at that time the restaurant had a reputation for being pricy and that is what I experienced then. My wife and I decided to stop one night recently as it is fairly close to home and was on our way to pick up my son at karate. I was pleased to see that the prices were reasonable, the portions were huge but it was the service that will bring us back again. The atmosphere was clean, inviting and much brighter than a lot of places we frequent. We look forward to going back soon to explore their menu further. read more

Tuft's mainly has appeal as a local hang, mostly for older clientele. I've tried a lot of the menu and the food is all around just okay. Nothing very imaginative on the menu, but that's fine for the crowd they're catering to. I never drink here since I'm always driving, but the beer selection is also decently-sized but all very basic. It gets the job done and I am happy to come here with others who like it, but would never choose this place myself. Out of the things I've tried here (I've only had the veg and seafood dishes), my favourites have been the Santa Fe Veggie Burger (kind of surprising to get a good veggie burger at a place like this, but they grill it up nicely) and the Crabby Flatbread. The sundaes for dessert are decadent and fun. I have to say the experience seems to vary depending on whether or not you're considered a "regular". I come here most often with a group mostly made up of people who frequent the place and we get very nice treatment from the waitresses, but I came once with just one other person who, like me, only visits on occasion, and the same staff was noticeably less attentive and warm, but the service was still passable. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for fantastic food and above-and-beyond service (unless you're already a regular, but then you of course wouldn't be checking reviews), but it's a very safe choice if you just want a basic, straightforward American dinner, since nothing here has ever left me disappointed and I don't think the service is ever outright bad no matter who you are. I've come to this establishment since 2003. Have probably poured thousands of dollars into this place. So it pains me to leave a lower review, but the level of customer service has significantly declined at this place. From the lack of affability to the servers and bartenders, to receiving a stern eye roll when you order a drink 15-20 minutes before closing. The older, golfing clientele that this restaurant caters to will not be around much longer, especially as Endicott continues to go into decline. It'd be wise to shore up business by seeking to cultivate a friendlier sense of customer service. read more

I remember this when it was a Friendly's Ice cream parlor. Now it's a pretty nice local bar. I frequent this place when I'm home visiting the 'rents. It's close by. There's more bars to choose from in Binghamton, but this one pretty good, and we don't have to travel far. They've got about six or so beers on tap, including my favorite Yuengling, but these days, every bar has that one on tap. They also have Guinness, but it was cold, which my brother contends is a sin against humanity. The food is pretty good, and the place doesn't seem to get so crowded that you can't find a table to sit down and eat. There's ample parking... but then again, this is Endicott, there's not enough people in this town to fill up a parking lot. Dang, I should have snapped a photo when I was home. read more

They have a decent selection of beer on draft from yuengling, blue moon, molson, sam adam's, etc. We ordered the fried pickles and jalapeño poppers for apps, the fried pickles weren't great. In particular, the pizza. I always give two chances before a negative review, but without question the worst I've experienced anywhere. Limp, despite my request for well done. Maybe they run the oven at 350 or something, but both times the slices drooped like an overheated hounds tongue. Also ordered the wings, buffalo garlic, which was my own mistake. Thinking it would be the standard buffalo combined with a garlic oil (another offered flavor), it only had dehydrated garlic added to the mix. A LOT of dehydrated garlic. But its a common practice, so the wings get a 3.5 stars, average. Wife had some kind of wrap. Nothing to write home about, or Yelp about either. Harry Tufts is most definitely a local bar, where everybody knows your name, so that would explain the curve of reviews, IMHO. But the waitress was friendly enough. read more

Have always enjoyed getting some tasty grub from "Tufts". Some of the best chicken wings around in my opinion, and i have eaten A LOT of wings. It is usually busy and you might have to wait, but who is in a rush? Have a drink and relax. Their staff is always nice when I am in there, and they have reliable takeout, which is important since with small kids I cant always get the change to go out to dinner. So I'm not from around here. I'm from the south. I am used to over-the-top friendliness. But I've been to a lot of bars and restaurants around here having lived here on and off for over three years and have been pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff at almost every place I have been. Harry Tufts is a notable exception. The pop-bottle-glasses-wearing bartender is perhaps the rudest bartender I have ever had in the Empire State. Do what you want do. But if a bartender with super thick glasses on walks up to the other side of the bar....don't tip her at least. read more

Great family atmosphere. Good food and a great place to go with a group of friends. The workers here have always been incredibly friendly.

If you want to order their "new steak and cheese mini tacos", save yourself the money and go to the dollar store to get DOUBLE the food and pay a third of the cost. My seven year old asked for crayons and the waitress forgot. Not a big deal because she voiced her concerns to the second waitress that came to our table. Pro tip: when you buy the frozen mini tacos from the dollar store, bake them in the over. You'll get the same result as the food here and you'll save a ton of money. read more

We visited Harry Tuft's Publick House in Endicott, NY last Thursday evening. We were approached by the rudest waitress I have ever encountered in my 30+ years in the restaurant business. Our family had just come from our son's wake and we needed to have a nice place to unwind after the hardest day of our lives. Not only was our waitress rude and obnoxious, she left our table crying when I called her out. She never returned to say that she was sorry, she just stayed in the bathroom crying. My mother in law, who just lost her grandson, tried to console her but still no apologies. We never saw any management or owner to offer any apologies. We just sat there wondering if we were going to get service or if we should leave. Finally after approximately 10 minutes, another waitress took our order. She acted as if we were putting her out and I guess a smile was just asking too much. We came in with 14 people and spent almost $200.00 and also tipped. Yes we tipped because we're not rude and we understand the business. This was absolutely the worst experience my family and I have ever had. We will never set foot in that place again. I wish there was a button for negative stars because this place would get a -100. Thanks for making our evening miserable. Well done!!!! read more
