I don't know that I've ever been to go to an establishment, but I enjoyed quite much, like genuinely! The door handle hidden in the books in the vestibule. This looks like a bookstore from outside. I love the vibe when you walk in. It actually feels like a speakeasy. You have to open a secret door when you walk inside the lighting the decor is all phenomenal. We did have to have a reservation as the place is completely booked on a Friday night, even the bar was too capacity. We were seated right away as we had reservations, the nice part about the reservations as well as you could text them to get those reservations. We had dinner prior to our reservations, so we didn't get a chance to try the food although the menu that was in a folded binder was lit when it opened a very cool little feature. The drink menu could've been a little bit more extensive for their specialty drinks, however, they had what seemed like hundreds of liquor options for you to make your own or to choose something on the rocks. Our server Nate was excellent, he suggested and recommended different drinks for us, he also brought over a little cheesecake because it was Amanda's birthday this week. Just an outstanding location vibe service experience. All of that. We would highly recommend it and if we're back in Binghamton, we would definitely go. If I lived in Binghamton. Don't feel the extra charge for ice cubes with 205 on them is appropriate considering our meal with drinks was well over two hundred dollars and closer to $300.00 with tip. The menu is varied and should satisfy whatever you require. Our party of four had Chicken sandwiches and Tenderloin sandwiches. Both were very good but as I had the Tenderloin sandwich, I can attest to, it was the very best steak sandwich I have had in a very long time. The service was excellent and the place is eclectic and comfortable. This is one place that we will revisit next time we are in town. As a lover of speakeasies, I was delighted to find this one in my new city of residence. The store front looks like it's a bookstore but behind the bookcase, is one really beautiful place to enjoy some of the finest drinks and food! We were kindly greeted by the hostess and door man. Everyone working at this establishment sort of dresses like they are back in the prohibition era. It's a nice touch. The hostess advised us that they put a two-hour limit on tables. It was packed by the time we left there so we understood why. Loud music plays a mix of old songs and jazzy remakes of pop classics. The food offerings are very casual (handheld sandwiches, fries, burgers). They also had one pasta dish and a filet mignon on the menu. The meat and cheese board was probably the fanciest thing on the menu and it did not disappoint! It was beautifully presented, and generous in portions and variety. The drinks are where this establishment really shines! We got to enjoy some Johnnie Walker Rare Ghost whiskey as well as some of the craft cocktails. Our server Garrett took great care of us. Can't begin to explain how much I love it here, between the amazing food and crafted cocktails, I've been about 4 times in the past few months and just find myself to keep coming back. The staff is absolutely amazing super kind and very knowledgeable about their whiskey selection (which is huge for me). Right after I read about it on line, it was recommended by a construction worker at the Binghamton Airport, my Uber driver, then the nail tech at Tommy Nails- all within a couple of hours of each other. This review has been a long time coming. 205 Dry is by far the BEST restaurant / bar in Binghamton. The food is delicious, meticulously crafted by the head chefs and owners, garnished well and plated beautifully. The drinks are the real star of the show here, a consistently rotating menu with new seasonal drinks as well as well loved classics such as the Espresso Martini and 205 Old fashioned. You can tell that 205 thinks of just about everything when it comes to their service, from the wide array of adorable (and yummy) garnishes that compliment the cocktails just right, to the names of the cocktails that are very clever and unique. Additionally, the service is 100/10. All of the bartenders are personable, knowledgeable and extremely competent at their jobs. If you are unsure of what you want to get to drink, ask your server or bartender what they recommend and you are sure to end up with the drink you never knew you needed. The service is obviously prioritized and food and drinks come out very quickly, as well as being acknowledged by the staff as soon as you walk in. Finally, the decor and vibe of 205 is something you don't come across everyday, ESPECIALLY not in Binghamton. The tables and bar are decorated with candles and fresh flowers, the plates are eclectic and fit the speakeasy ambiance perfectly. The ambiance (amongst everything else mentioned) is one of the main reasons I decided to have my wedding reception hosted at 205 Dry. My reception went off without a hitch! The coordinating staff and owner Alise were extremely attentive and ensured the process went smoothly from start to finish. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Every single crevice of this place is covered in historical decor and the staff members matched even dressed according to the theme of the restaurant. For someone that does not like the strong taste of alcohol, I highly reccomend the mistletoe. It was a hint of thyme and cranberry. My friend ordered the pasta & blue and it was definitely the best dish we got that day. I got the prohibition burger and it just tasted like a typical burger. The fries however, were AMAZING! By far the classiest place in Binghamton (except, perhaps, for the newcomer awkwardly trying to find the entrance!). There's really nothing like it. This speakeasy takes the best of Antique Row and turned it into the highlight of the bar scene. Whether you're a local finding this place for the first time or stopping by while traveling, this is the place you have to try. The ambiance alone is all the reason you need to come visit this place. A perfect recreation of a 1920s speakeasy with gorgeous ornate decor under candlelight. The gorgeous glassware that completes every liquid masterpiece. The incredible liquor wall behind the bar. It's a major vibe. The drink menu is extensive including seasonal cocktail specials up to the highest class wine you can find. All of them are a piece of art. But I especially want to give special mention to their mocktails. They have four on the menu and all of them are a knockout, but especially the Peach Dream (sweet and creamy) and the Devil's Delight (pineapple with a kick of cayenne). I'd love to see them add more, or at least a rotating seasonal special, but I truly enjoy them as is! As for the food, it's pretty good but considering this is mainly a drinking spot, the food menu is limited. That being said, everything I've had here is delicious whether it's sharing a big cheese board with friends, poutine, pickle fries, or their entrees. I usually come for drinks but the food will not disappoint, either. They have space available for event reservations and are also affiliated with Uncorked Creations up the stairs, where you're allowed to grab a drink and a paintbrush alike! Some tips: Call ahead or get a reservation. This place is always packed, especially on Friday nights. You can definitely try for a bar seat, too. Also, while street parking is available it's limited.
