First time visiting Geneva, NY and we came across Linden Street. This street has multiple restaurants and one of them is Vinifera. There is free live music on Linden Street every Friday and Saturday from 6:30pm-9:30pm. Vinifera also has a speakeasy in their basement. We wanted to enjoy the live music so we sat outside. There were about 4 tables. Vinifera is the only wine shop and tasting room devoted exclusively to Finger Lakes wines. There is an option to do a flight of four wines for $20 so what better way to try a variety of wines. I had the Lamoreaux Landing Moscato, Living Roots Golden Fields, Dr. Konstantin Frank Dry Rose, and Glenora Brut. I enjoyed the Lamoreaux Landing Moscato so much that I ordered a glass of it after I finished the flight. We ordered a charcuterie board, but realized it was kind of small so we ordered another one. It took a while for it to come out. It was $20 each and not worth it in my opinion. It came with a few crackers, cheese, meats, olives, and peppers. Service was friendly but a little slow with bringing out the menus and taking our orders. They seemed very busy with the speakeasy and with people outside. Wine came out quickly though. The tasting room is very spacious.

This was a great find. We went down into the speakeasy which is quite literally a basement. It was nice and cool down there. I loved that they offered flights of cocktails as well. The service was good and they were helpful. It was not loud at all, but was very dark. Once you adjust to that it's fine! Drinks were good.

Amazing place! The underground speakasy is delightful I had a great time with my friends and family playing board games. Waiters are very friendly, the owner was very considerate and the area was beautifully decorated. Highly recommend it if you want good drinks and a good time.

This place! Who would have ever thought Geneva NY, tiny little Geneva NY would get a place like this. Talk about a special spot. It's good to go with friends. IDEAL to go if you're going on a date, it's just a unique spot. In NYC, this would be a common type of place. NYC is fun and all, but it can definitely be more than exhausting. So for a spot like this to open in Geneva...excellent move from whoever owns this place. Ok, full disclosure, lol, I don't even drink. I have, of course. I grew up in upstate New York, so of course most of us have all done wine tours..why? Because the miles and miles of vineyards and endless amounts of wineries we have. Also, wine tours are funnn af! I stopped drinking a long time ago. However, my friends are still a bunch of lushes lol. I went home a couple months ago. First time in almost 4 years and of course...because Covid bs. I hadn't seen anyone in so long. Few days after getting there, my friends, who've I've been friends with 35 years! (Mind..blown!) they made this reservation a week or so before I got home. My one friend Melissa is the one who was so excited to bring me here. Some of the others hadn't even been here yet and they never leave Geneva lol. You walk in and it's a nice little shop. Tons of wines in display. Truly, the layout is amazing. The girl working, 20 something years old. Seemed cool at first. More later on that lol. She then takes me and Melissa through the back room and down these stairs. I felt all like we were in some mafia movie or some shit lol. It was awesome! Check out the pics. We get below the store in this suuuuuper incredible room. Dimly lit, "posh" looking...such a corny word to use, but I actually think it kinda fits here. Especially since this isn't something you'd normally see in Geneva. It is on Linden St tho and Linden St is probably the greatest little street in all of Geneva. So there are 2 separate rooms down there. All decked out, super comfortable couches, chairs, candles, etc. It really is a special place. I'm glad she took me here. Even tho I don't drink, I'd gladly go back to this place with them. Maybe one day, I'll have a drink with them haha. The girl working. In any universe, she is 100% the type of girl that I lovvvve! And I always get along with girls like her. Some of my closest friends are her age. I know..weird but it's whatever. I'm gay! Haha! Most of us and our close friends are all girls lol. The people I was with this night...all girls I grew up with. Anyway, this girl here I'm like 99.999% positive she didn't like me and I couldn't figure out what tf that was all about. I was super nice to her, never said anything rude, because I'm just not that way unless you REALLY push my buttons. Even then tho, I almost always bite my tongue. I saw her roll her eyes at me when I made a joke to my friends and I was like...omg y'all! She hates me! Hahaha! Then when we were leaving, we asked her to take our pic. I handed her my phone and Melissa handed her her phone. She looks at the back of both of them and sooooo snotty says "yeah, I'm not gonna use this one, it's like..old" hahahaha! "Ima use hers because it's obviously newer and it's better" I said to the girls...ohhhh shoooot! She's got jokes! Y'all heard that, right? Why does she hate me?? Hahaha! I know this sounds so juvenile, but wanna know why that is? Because it is juvenile. The 4 stars is for that reason. More juvenile behavior. Sorry, I absolutely HATE giving bad feedback on a place unless it's absolutely warranted. I think it is here. And tbh, I don't this this feedback is all that bad. I got home later and was thinking about it and just figured..ok, sis didn't like me because I'm a guy and I was hanging out with all females. However, my whole life, that's how it's always been. My closest friends have always been women. Of course I have male friends, but the 4 I was with this night/5 over the weekend..all girls I grew up with. Can you tell I'm still a little butthurt? Lol Maybe she was just having a bad day, who knows. She and Melissa tho acted like they been homies for life lol. This won't deter anyone from going here. It shouldn't. I'm sure aside from that night, she is awesome and if she knew me and I knew her at all, we'd get along just fine. Aside from that, she's good at her job. The place wasn't crowded, thank God. It was a Thursday night tho. She was very attentive to us and the others that were there. Checked on the customers regularly, knew the product and knew how to sell it. Thanks for reading, Yelpineferas! Cheers!

Very cool aesthetic! First time in a speakeasy and it was so cool. I got a flight of wines that were good, one really hit the spot for me! Great thing to try especially if you're walking around the town :)

We visited Vinifera for the speakeasy experience. In the past, I have been disappointed by a "speakeasy" that is not truly hidden or having a surprise element. Vinifera exceeded our expectations! We were escorted from the storefront to the speakeasy bar. The staff was kind, accommodating, and welcoming. The drink menu was limited but the bartender was creative and happy to make customized drinks.

Stumbled across this speakeasy while looking to continue the night out. What an amazing surprise! It was elegant and the perfect vibe to end the night. We got a s'mores latte and an old fashioned.

This looks to be a great new wine bar in the heart of Geneva! It seems designed to showcase some of the best wines of the Finger Lakes and it does that well. You can purchase bottles from their selection, and it's a great selection: Konstantin Frank, Weis, Damiani, Boundary Breaks, and more. The interior is designed in a formal style, with beautiful woodwork, comfortable seating, and appealing accents. There are usually visiting wineries offering tastings, and there are a few gifts for sale too. Recommended if you're trying to survey some of the best wines available or if you're new to the Finger Lakes or if you just want to buy a great bottle of wine. It's a little cramped inside but that doesn't detract too much. Not a ton of seating either, so it's really more of a wine shop with great tastings.

The larger room in the speakeasy.

Great little wine bar with an amazing speakeasy hidden in the basement! There are two different sized rooms depending on your party size. The drink menu is great and they offer some light charcuterie board eats. Reasonable pricing for what it is! Great vibe and good service. Loved it!

Everything from the lighting, the floors and ceiling, to the gorgeous painted mural of the Finger Lakes on the wall is perfectly done.

OMG!!! Deliciousness! We were lucky to get seats at the bar on a busy Saturday night, but MAN! I am…read moreso glad we did. Could be all the wine in me talking (though I don't think so from the way everyone was chowing down), but this was some Grade A BBQ! Pulled pork was laced with sauce - sweet, sticky, not the least bit dry... the spare ribs were so tender, Smokey and flavorful and honestly not a whole lot of fat... and the brisket, well it melted in your mouth. Honestly - just way too good! Drinks. Food. Service. Company - 10 for 10!

This is the first restaurant we went to for dinner in Geneva and it was, unfortunately, a very…read moredisappointing experience despite their excellent reviews. Let me get to the details: Service: staffs were not attentive, friendly, nor helpful. The restaurant was busy when we came so we decided to seat outside. However, their outdoor tables were wobbly. Also, there were no bugs control devices nor heating lamps to accommodate us. When we asked to move inside, their response was we have to talk to the host and the hostess told us it is not possible because they were "too busy".... Yet we would see an empty table where they rather seat 2 people that come after us instead of us. On top of all that, our sever never came to refill our water. For service, this place is a zero star for me. Food: we ordered their famous heavy plate. The food size was loaded for the price, everything tastes fine but nothing was exceptional. Giving them some stars for the decent food. Atmosphere: inside has lots of booth style seatings and bar seatings. They can accomplish large parties. Outdoor seating is not great as their tables were cheap and they're seating on a slope. There were no heat lamps or bug controls so I don't recommend eating outside in the evening here. Overall: honestly, we felt ignored at this restaurant. I wouldn't come back here since they're not very accommodating or nice. Highly recommend management to train their staffs better.
