    Great wine and beautiful sunsets!
    Amy K.

By far, my favorite winery on Seneca Lake. This places makes you feel like you're in Tuscany! Beautiful views overlooking the vineyards and the lake, so the sunsets were spectacular. We visited on a Wednesday so they had happy hour (BOGO drinks) as well as live music!! It was so fun and we really had a good time! For the food, we tried a charcuterie board and it was just the right size for 3 people to share. Pairs very nicely with their white blend- yum! I can't wait to come back here!

It's a great experience everytime I visit. Staff is friendly and the food is delicious. They also have a huge selection of wines and the view of the lake is beautiful.

Walking into Ventosa Vineyards takes you away from New York and brings you to Tuscany. Once you arrive you go right to one of their two bars. Once you get there, you have three choices. You can order food from their cafe, you can sample their different wines, and/or do a flight. If you are sampling their wines, then you stay at the bar to sample them. If you are doing a flight, you wait for the flight and then you can take it outside or stay inside. If it is a gorgeous day, you are going to want to go outside. The view outside is absolutely beautiful! The view will take your breath away. If you are looking for a winery in the Finger Lakes with a beautiful view, then Ventosa is the place for you!

We finally stopped at a winery we've passed by many times before but never visited--until now. We did a tasting of several wines, and I started with the Dry Riesling, which had lovely hints of apricot and orange peel. Next, I tried the 2020 Tocai Friulano, which had a grapefruit aroma but was incredibly smooth and delicious. Then, I sampled the 2020 Pinot Gris, which had notes of peach and kiwi with a touch of sweetness on the finish. My favorite was the Tocai Friulano--I couldn't leave without taking a bottle home. Our server shared a fun story about a woman from Georgia who visits once a year just to buy three cases of it, using it to make sangria for her annual party.

Amazing wine, Amazing view, and amazing live music!!!! By far the best winery on Seneca Lake! Glad we chose to end our night coming here

We were here on a Wednesday afternoon. The ambience was serene and beautiful. We chose outdoor seating as the weather was just perfect. The Cafe Toscana has limited menu. I like the system where we just mark what we want on the menu and give them and wait for it on your table. This way, we are not often bothered by waiters when you want a calm and romantic time. The white wine - pinot gris was amazing. We loved it! The artisan pizza was super fresh and flavorful. My wife also liked their side salad. The cheesy garlic bread tasted good but I wish they had some herbs sprinkled on the top. They have a wide selection of white, rose and red wines which is kinda obvious considering it's a vineyard and the place is beautiful right along the lake. Great for some pictures Would definitely recommend this place.

I came here for a wine tasting for my friends bachelorette- planning was excellent with Jamie and I genuinely think about the garlic pizza once a week. It is seriously the best pizza i've ever had and i'm so upset I live 8 hours away. I need to come back for the pizza alone, the wine was also wonderful and the man who did our tasting was so awesome as well. 10/10!

Just a lovely place and we are so glad we stopped by to enjoy the sandwitch and the wine. Covid-19 precautions led us in a search for good outdoor place and we found Ventosa to have awesome backyard views of the lake and reasonably pet friendly. We are not locals but they do have an amazing outdoor/indoor setup for weddings --- so can imagine this to be a good venue for that perfect day. Veg sandwitches were good portions and filling, serving was quick, and did i mention backyard views were great?

Lovely place. As soon as you drive up, it feels like Tuscany. The inside is comfortable and the wines are delicious. Staff is very helpful. We did a tasting for $10 ranging from whites to reds. The view of the lake is majestic.

For a family get together of 40 people that was unplanned till 4 days prior to the event, the event couldn't have turned out any better. This was only possible because the venue was picturesque, food was amazing, the staff was friendly that went over and beyond. Chef Ernesto and Victor were of immense help as the Chef was able to accommodate us last minute and Victor was able to help us organize, coordinate and make it easy on us. I would say, I ate one of the best pizzas and I actually took it home and the crust was still crispy. Everyone at the party loved the food and they were accommodating enough to bring our on food as they couldn't help us out with more add on as it was last minute. Thank you and you gave us memories of a lifetime.

While I chose a few glasses to taste, most of what I took home were the things she handpicked for me. I was especially taken by the Glint Riesling which was grown from two sunny rows in a very sunny growing season and tastes like liquid sunshine. I also like what they're doing with Savagnin. The moody ambiance of the barn is just right for tasting. Highly recommended!

We have previously been Ravines wine club members and frequently enjoy stopping into their tasting room for wine tasting, food and purchasing bottles. We would have happily purchased some wine to take home with us (likely a case or more) but the staff was incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming. When I asked, for future visits, when the tastings usually stop, I was told 4:30. Ravines may want to update their website and online presence to reflect this (everything posted says 5pm close) as we were disappointed to be unable to finish our Mother's Day celebration at their tasting room. Due to the completely unfriendly welcome (customers were walking past us with fresh pours, clearly having just been served), we opted to leave without purchasing any wine - a significant loss for their business, not only in sales but also in customer loyalty. No one apologized that we couldn't be served or asked if we wanted to purchase any wine. We won't be back any time soon and will share the experience with friends so as to help them avoid a similarly unpleasant experience. We were once loyal but now disappointed Ravines customers.

My husband and I have been to Ravines Wine Cellars several times since 'discovering them' during a special farm-to-table dinner and wine pairing at Good Luck a few years back. That night we enjoyed a 5-course meal and each course was paired with a different wine. It was the first time we ever experienced drinking finger lakes wines that we really enjoyed and could see ourselves buying for private consumption! Shortly after that, we made the trip out to the wine cellar in Geneva to do a tasting. On our first trip, we did the wine and cheese tasting - loved everything and went home with a bottle of Meritage. On the second trip, we did the wine and chocolate tasting (which features chocolates from Hedonist) and came home with a bottle of the Vignoles. Fast forward another couple of years and we took advantage of a holiday event which featured food pairing tastings from Brown Hound Bistro at the Ravines location in Hammondsport. We left with several bottles of wine for holiday gifts. Every experience was great, with friendly and knowledgeable people, enjoyable atmospheres and yummy goodness. Most recently, I was lucky to attend a special dinner at the Ravinous Kitchen as part of a company event. There were 12 of us for a 6-course meal on a Sunday evening (usually they are closed at this time). Included was a tour of the winery and wine cellar, with time spent with the owner and the head chef. It was amazing. The chef prepared really, really delicious dishes for each wine: --We started with glasses of their 2009 sparkling Brut Rose which was delicious. Paired with a bacon puff and served with herbed crème fresh, this was a lovely little bite. --Next, while we were in the cellar, we were served a parsnip bisque with caramelized cheese. We ate that while tasting their 'new' 2015 Meritage right out of the barrel. It was cool in the cellar and the bisque and wine was a perfect little warm up. --First of the 'mains' was a large serving of local Lively Run chevre, with a side of kale and some pomegranate drizzle, served with their 2015 dry Riesling. They also gave each of us a fresh baked roll, and mine was gluten free - the most perfect gluten free roll I've ever had - truly crusty and 'French-bread-like'. I could have died happy after eating this course. --Second 'main' was a stuffed squash with some kind of spinach or creamed green inside. This was doused in brown butter and served with a smear of red miso. The dish was served with their 2013 Pinot Noir. Holy deliciousness. Unlike any squash dish I've ever had, this was definitely the table favorite. Super savory and umami, great depth. Super yum. --Final 'main' was braised beef short rib served with shaved brussels sprouts and a mushroom 'cream' made by roasting a medley of mushrooms and pureeing them with cream. This dish was served with au jus and the 2013 Maximilian red. A rich, delicious combination. I have to admit at this point I was over the top stuffed, but even so, when the chef brought out extra servings of the short ribs, I forced myself to have a bit more. The au jus was delicious and the meat was totally fall-apart tender. So good. --For dessert, we were served a butterscotch 'risotto' - basically a rice pudding with white chocolate, apricots and toasted oats. This was served with the Vignoles. Take a bite and a swig and swirl them in your mouth - flavor explosion! I really love the Vignoles. Even those at the table who are not fans of dessert wines/ports/ice wines drank every drop! (Too bad because I was offering to finish whatever anyone wasn't going to drink, but no takers....) Ravines is definitely at the tippy top of my list of favorite wineries and experiences in the finger lakes. And with all the new awesome eateries in Geneva and the focus on making the little college town a foodie destination, I highly recommend you join the Ravinous club, rent an Airbnb and go there to spend a weekend of eating, drinking and merriment!

A lot of the times when you go wine tasting, there's only charcuterie options or just cheese, crackers, etc. We had built an appetite for a late lunch and after trying their semi dry riesling a few days before (courtesy of our airbnb host) we knew we had to come check it out. Located in the same street of where we were staying, it was such a find. Thank goodness for Phoenician Grill offering fan faves like a nice charcuterie board or pizza but also their mediterranean forward menu staples like falafel, grape leaves and their delicious spinach hand pies. We ended up ordering the mezze sampler (and did a few substitutions to make sure they fit our vegetarian needs) along with their perfectly crisp za'atar fries. On to the wine. Get this, you can order a 5 flavor wine flight for only $10! Now that's a steal. Of course, you can also order a bottle and share it or split one with a friend. If you're like me that wants to try different things, this is the way to go. All of the wines we tried were delicious, form their pinot to their rose. A crowd favorite was for sure their dry riesling which many of us took home for the road (not the actual road but home lol). Everyone here was so kind and accommodating for our group of 10. We had such an amazing Sunday warming up indoors from the cold. Can't wait to come back in the spring time when it's gorgeous outside and you can enjoy more of their beautiful outdoor space.
