Went for lunch on Saturday afternoon and it was a very pleasant experience. We ordered chicken wings and they were perfectly cooked with great flavor. The Buffalo Garlic Parmesan sauce had just enough heat and not too much garlic, and the wings were good sized and crispy. The service was excellent. Leanne was tending the bar and waiting tables with a steady flow of customers and she did a great job managing both. She was very friendly and attentive. The place was very clean and well kept. Yup, these guys are easily still the BEST WINGS SPOT in Upstate NY. Not once, have I ever been disappointed with my take-out orders. I really believe this place gets overlooked sometimes and deserves more appreciation. They offer a Korean BBQ flavor of wing sauce, and if you like to turn up the heat when you're eating, treat yourself to some of this!! Ordered these wings on a cold rainy night, and the wings themselves were above average. Nice crisp, the buffalo sauce was nice and spicy and tangy. For the price, you can't really beat the quality! My issue really was with the fries, they were soggy and had no salt. read more

I never get fries. I always upgrade to onion rings. check over 30 minutes for Food to come out and my sandwich came out with fries and I told the girl I was supposed to get onion rings. I was informed I'm not allowed to substitute. Since when? According to her since always, but that's not the case because I'll always pay the up charge for onion rings. I was snapped at and told she would pay for them because it's not worth arguing about. In my 35 years of being a bartender and server I would never have dreamed of speaking to anyone like that. What happened to the customers always right? Sad thing is the fries tasted burnt and onion rings, had a funny taste, and were extremely greasy. Been here a few times and have always enjoyed myself. Tucked into a quiet housing development type atmosphere. Wings are amazing and I always go with the Carolina Gold. Cheese steaks are also delicious. Good beer selection and service has always been attentive and friendly. Plenty of tables and seating but the bar is a little small. We have been coming to the deacons bench for more than 10 years. Went this past Tuesday evening and tried their speedy deluxe sub. It was awesome! Nice and tender Speedy's good flavor and they did not skimp on the Speedy's. Recommend it to everyone. Despite having a large party all having a good time I must add. We had great service. read more

Been coming here for a while and food quality has been steadily going downhill. Recently tried their city chicken was very disappointed. It was bland and dry seemed to be over cooked. Wings tend to be beyond crispy and down right hard to chew. Could use more sauce. Meats tend to be dry and over done. read more

I used to love coming here but the last two times our experience has been awful. The staff is rather rude and there's usually only one or two people working, so when it's busy don't expect too much. Last time my BBQ wings came with sauce drizzled over them and I received an eye roll when I asked if they could be tossed in the sauce again. And I didn't bother saying anything about anything else about our undercooked fries. This time we ordered take out at 8:30 PM and were told 25 minutes. We got there at 9 and waited until 9:15 at the bar while the staff didn't ask if we wanted/needed anything else while we waited. Just disappointed lately, don't think we'll be going back. read more

This place makes the best wings in town! The thursday wing special can't be beat. Order of wings fries and half pitcher for $11. The double dipped wings are great and so are the honey bbq. I had a very good experience here. The service was friendly and my wings were excellent! My friends ordered a swiss burger and Philly cheesesteak, both of which were tasty, hot and fresh. This is a "hole-in-the-wall" kind of bar/restaurant, with a mellow, laid back atmosphere. Their menu is pretty extensive. I will definitely return to try more delicious food! read more

I get food from here often. Last night, well, I wouldn't exactly call it "food." Me and 2 other people went and got takeout. It took longer than normal to get our food, WAY longer, we even considered taking off but we decided to wait because it was usually worth it. We got home and all looked at our food... After waiting for a half hour + we realized our food was burnt. Fries nearly black, pulled pork burnt, chicken tenders were so burnt they were almost rock solid. Not worth the money spent. If you get takeout, PLEASE check it first so you don't waste as much money as we did. read more

This is a great little spot. Stopped here during my annual visit to the ST and had a basket of wings with fries and a beer. Reasonably priced. Deacon's also had some good looking specials. I was really disappointed with the service in this establishment I went because it was Thursday wings I heard good things about it however when I got there being from out of town I didn't order the wings correctly and the waitress seem to be irritated instantly. She threw her hands up and left the table in a huff without completing the order. We then noticed staff looking at our table like we did something wrong. Once we did get our food one of my guest happen to have a piece of hair in her food (she pulled it from the cheese) upon telling the manager and the owner she began to debate with us whether or not it was one of her workers hair. Really? The point is there's a hair in the food can we deal with this not argue about where it came from, we did spend a lot of money. It's sad because my wife said she grew up knowing this neighborhood bar as good food and good service. It was a horrible experience for us. Its unfortunate how change in ownership and staff can ruin a good ole bar. read more
