What a gem - this place exceeded expectation in every way. Super friendly service, easily…read moreaccessible, some of the best bbq I've had on the east coast. And lastly, extremely fair pricing - I'd go so far as to say great Ang for the buck for the quality and quantity. We were visiting Binghamton from NJ so this a review from a first-timer. From the moment we walked in, the staff behind the register and in kitchen were all super friendly, patient, accommodating, and seemed to appreciate their customers. From the looks of it, have a steady carry out local customer-base so there was ample seating so no wait and service was quick for a late Saturday lunch. As for the food - it was straight well-cooked, moist bbq. It had a perfect amount of smoky flavor and very savory while not too salty. We had the brisket, ribs, and smoked turkey. The briskets practically disintegrated as soon as I put my fingers on them. It comes with a side of horseradish sauce which paired perfectly. The ribs were fall off the bone and dry rub (I believe) which I prefer. And my favorite - and sometimes hard-to-find - the smoked turkey was absolute perfection. Not over or under powering. Just the right amount of smoky flavor. I didn't need to add sauce to any of the meats to enjoy them. The onion rings were perfectly fried - crunchy with thick cuts of onion. While my son and I were split on the Mac n cheese (which was definitely good anyway you look at it), my son liked it more than I did. The best side IMO is their baked beans. It was acidic and less sweet in a good way and tasted like no other BBs I've had. I'm not sure I'll have another reason to be up in Binghampton again, but I will so be going here again if I ever do. I did want to try the fried catfish so hopefully a trip will come its way.

Really solid BBQ; was pleasantly surprised to find this place in Binghamton. The burnt ends are…read morereally flavorful and the brisket very tender (goes really well with their house made sauces). Portions are HUGE. Baked beans were good; found the coleslaw and cornbread just average however. The banana pudding was also too liquidy for my taste (they went heavy on the condensed milk there).

Pappi is definitely not happy honestly, I think smiling might be against restaurant policy, yet him…read morein medication should be. I went in to grab a DoorDash order and immediately got locked into an intense staring contest. No "hi," no "hello," not even a courtesy blink--just a full-on scowl like I personally ruined his day by ordering food at his spot. After a solid few seconds of awkward silence, I finally said I was there to pick up my food. That's when things escalated. He launched into a rant about how he's "tired of this sht," and I'm just standing there thinking... sir, I only came for my food, not your emotional baggage. I asked if everything was okay, which apparently was the wrong move, because he doubled down with "I don't need this sht & F*** DoorDash." At this point, I'm just a confused bystander in what feels like a one-man protest against his life. He then dramatically tossed my food onto the counter like it had personally offended him. I grabbed it (because, you know, I already paid) and made a swift exit. It was a weird exchange. Then I read other reviews of Google and realized I'm not a sole witness to Un-Happy Pappi's cray-cray. Food? was Meh. Service? Olympic-level bad. Will I go back? Only if I'm craving awkward eye contact and chaos. Also... how does this place have 5 stars?? I need answers.

As a fellow Dominican coming from NYC, I was not at all impressed with the food here…read more In just a couple words, the food here seems bland and not at all up to par with authentic flavors. We have tried this place on two separate occasions, ordered different dishes, and have even introduced the food to my mother who is from the Dominican Republic. We weren't impressed and neither was she. We were very confused as the workers are all Dominican and there was a long wait (30 min to an hour), so we thought the food would be excellent. We will say that the staff is very friendly and welcoming. They handled any concerns and haven't caused us any issues. Most of the juices here seem to be as good as any other Hispanic place (love the passion fruit juice). The traditional "Morir Sonando" (Orange juice and condensed milk drink (tastes way better than it sounds) is made well but nothing spectacular. If you're into that drink you won't be disappointed, but you won't be raving about it. The best thing about this place would have to be the parking right outside the location. The parking makes it really easy to wait while your food is being prepared. If needed, the servers will even wave to you when your food is ready. All in all, we've given this place a fair amount of chances and it's safe to say we most likely won't be eating here again. That's not to say you shouldn't try this location, especially if you've never had Dominican food before. Many other people and reviewers seem to enjoy it. Just be aware that this isn't the standard.
