A spiedie, (pronounced "speedy", ) famous in Binghamton, is simply a marinated chicken sandwich on a roll. You order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. I ordered a 6 inch sandwich. They have several different styles, but I simply went with the original. Oh, my, I can see why this sandwich has such a following. The sesame seed roll was tender, and oh the chicken... it was chock full of chicken, It was moist, it was tender, and yes, it was marinated very well. I don't know what they use, but it was just absolutely an amazing sandwich. A simple 6 inch sandwich, and I was stuffed. A sandwich and a soda, and I was 10 bucks and change out the door. Today (7/25) we stopped in to have lunch with family who are local on our way back to NC. The spiedes were really sloppy and so saturated the bread was mushy. The 12 inch original my husband and I were sharing was super saturated. Unfortunately one of the chunks of chicken was served raw in the middle and I ate a bite out of it before I noticed the raw inside. I took the piece to the employee working the to go counter and she offered to remake our order and refunded by husband's card. I appreciate the business making it right. Hopefully our next trip will be a more positive experience. However overall the two stops were not bad, even with undercooked chicken.

Generally dusty with flour or whatever. The staff aren't trained to provide a great customer experience. Weirdly enough the general loose feeling has its own charm. Adjust your expectations - this is a small town pizza shop with no ambition to be more. Get the round pizza to go and you will be a happy camper.
