I haven't been here in years and was really looking forward to my meal. I didn't want a lot of bread, so I was thrilled to see the salads. I ordered the Greek Spiedie Salad with tzatziki on the side.it was a pretty good sized salad with a nice portion of Spiedie Chicken. Everything in the salad was fresh, the tzatziki sauce was very good...but the biggest disappointment was the chicken. So many of the pieces were really dry. It was hard to chew some of them even when I cut them in smaller pieces. The employees were friendly and all seemed to be working hard during this very busy lunchtime. The place was nicely decorated and seemed very clean.

I'm visiting from Sacramento, heading north, and my friends down in the city said I had to stop in Binghamton for a spiedie. They did not do me wrong. A spiedie, (pronounced "speedy", ) famous in Binghamton, is simply a marinated chicken sandwich on a roll. You order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. I ordered a 6 inch sandwich. They have several different styles, but I simply went with the original. Oh, my, I can see why this sandwich has such a following. The sesame seed roll was tender, and oh the chicken... it was chock full of chicken, It was moist, it was tender, and yes, it was marinated very well. I don't know what they use, but it was just absolutely an amazing sandwich. A simple 6 inch sandwich, and I was stuffed. A sandwich and a soda, and I was 10 bucks and change out the door. Extremely reasonable. Thank you so much!

Don't even get me started on how much I LOVE Spiedie and Rib Pit! As a Binghamton native, this place is a must every time I'm back in town. They are my personal favorite place in the area to get spiedies. They remodeled this old Pizza Hut building and moved across the parking lot into it a few years back, and their efforts definitely paid off. It can get quite busy in here, but the seating area is cozy, spacious, and comfortable enough to accommodate the traffic. Even when it is crazy busy, the staff does a wonderful job of keeping the line moving and getting your order to you in a timely manner. And the food is always delicious! If you're visiting Binghamton, you have to stop here to try some fantastic spiedies made the right way!

3.5 stars. Slightly healthier fast food joint. Easy stop with the kids. Salad was good - the chicken was a bit dry and hard. Pita was hard and cold Ribs were good Potato salad is okay Nuggets were thin, not bad.

I had my first Spiedie ... and I loved it! You order at the counter, and they bring out your delicious meal. The order taker recommended the Spiedissimo and that's what I enjoyed. The place was crowded and there were at least 20 people in front of me. The line moved quickly. My wife got the traditional Spiedie with chicken. Both of our meals were terrific. The chicken was tender with an extremely flavorful marinate. The location is clean and we loved the batroom signs.

I love their sandwiches. Service is quick and the cashier was helpful and friendly. Everything is reasonably priced. It is nice and clean inside with comfortable seating options and a couple benches to wait for to go orders. I did find the potato salad to be bland. Not horrible, but not something I would pick again. The cole slaw leans on the sweeter side which isn't my preference but I know it is popular. I personally prefer the spicy slaw on the fried chicken sandwich. The mac and cheese was nice and cheesy with al dente pasta. The ribs were saucy and smokey with good flavor but not fall off the bone tender. The pulled pork sandwich was sauced well with a good smoke flavor but not overpowering, and a big portion. All the sandwiches had a lot of meat.

So here's another if you're from Binghamton you're no stranger to a spiedie but if you're not from Binghamton you won't know what it is or how to spell it. I came here for dinner and ironically didn't get a spiedie sub which they have many variations of! I got the Soco fried chicken sandwich and an order of onion rings and a drink and it came to $16 and change. I usually get this sandwich without the slaw but today I tried it with and it tastes the same but adds a little extra crunch which I don't mind. The soco is a piece of fried chicken boneless of course with a chipotle sauce spicy pickles and spicy slaw but not so spicy you want to chug a water and it's absolutely delicious!the onion rings were crunchy but not burnt and you get a lot for a regular order and even more for a large same for the fries. Now if you've gotten this far and still wondering what a spiedie is it's a marinated piece of chicken but not normal chicken it's fantastic and it has a good char and basically it's Binghamton's baby!. Spiedie and rib pit also holds a lot of history here and at some point as a kid I was told about some feud in the family there is a relation to Lupo's (another spiedie place) as they have a quote from grandpa Lupo himself on the wall. Anyway I waited about 10 minutes max and my food was brought to the table so not a long wait but if you want to get in and out I suggest ordering ahead online but for sit down it was no trouble. Inside there is quite a large amount of seating for 1 person all the way to 8 people. Often in the afternoon you can catch people from the sheriffs office getting lunch . There is wonderful lighting the kind that sets the tone but is also decorative it's cozy but not small but also like wow they really know what they're doing it's a great vibe. This is personally a home town favorite for me and many others so if you're in Binghamton and looking for somewhere casual look no further 100% recommend this location specifically too!

Excellent sandwich! My brother from Philly wanted you to try something local when traveling through Binghamton. So, I had to try it on my next trip through from Rochester to Philly, after I recommended it to him! It'll be a regular stop on that route!

Great place to stop for a bite in binghamton! We were in town for the Luma festival and wanted to grab food first. This place had great reviews and it didn't disappoint. The BBQ was some of the best we've ever had! The ribs are seriously fantastic. I personally would skip the Spiedie next time. We got some on bread and some on a salad. It was just too dry and not really my taste (for anyone wondering, it's similar to kebab chicken!) Service was quick and friendly, plenty of seats, clean bathrooms, casual family friendly atmosphere. We'd definitely be back for the ribs! Come early for dinner, by the time we left around 6:30pm on a friday the line was out the door.

Spiedie and Rib Pit is a local spot my family and I always really enjoyed stopping at when we were in the Binghamton area. After moving out of state, I hadn't been in several years. When I recently was going to take a bus to Binghamton, I knew I had to stop by. My grandparents and I were initially confused when we parked since we didn't know Spiedie and Rib Pit was in a new building! However, we quickly realized the situation and walked over. We took a moment to look at the menu then ordered. I ended up opting for a 6 inch plain chicken spiedie with a side of mac salad. We received a number and went to sit down. After a few minutes the food came out. Everything was so delicious. It was even better than memory had served. Honestly the new dining room is great since it provides a lot more room than previously allowed by the old building. MY grandparents and I all had a sandwich with a mac salad then even had rice pudding for dessert -- everything was perfect. I'm really happy to say that Spiedie and Rib Pit delivered beyond nostalgia for a really delicious meal. I would 100% stop again when I find myself in the area. Highly recommend!

Stopped by this local spot on the way back home to Toronto from New York. What a gem! These spiedies are so unique and flavourful! Be prepared to get a bit messy though! Haha. The sides are also bomb, we had the potato salad and cheese fries to go with our spiedie! We saw the other table order wings and a salad and both looked so good we couldn't resist and ordered the wings as well. They were huge, the portions were great and the amount of sauce they gave was chefs kiss! I'm a saucy girl and this definitely checked all my boxes. Will have to drop by again during our next road trip!

The signature sandwiches of Binghamton NY is the Spiede. It's a must have when riding through. I've been to those places many times busy a few years ago they moved into a stand alone and expanded their menu. Wowee!!!! If you are reading this you'd better goer here and bring your appetite because the sandwiches are ginormous!!! Mega Awesome

southern-tier staple! I never actually had a spiedie out and about. I instantly recognized the old Pizza Hut style building, but it was completely different and cozy inside! We got a Caprese & a Spiedissimo, the Spiedissimo was the favorite with lots of classic peppers & onions with the juicey marinade. The fries were soo salty, perfect for the occasion.

For as long as I can remember this place has been open and serving what is pretty much my community. Years ago, it was a reputable mid-level restaurant, serving families and romantic couples alike, delicious meals at reasonable prices. After an ownership change decades ago, it had another name and entirely different clientele. Middle class families drove past, and it was no longer where you'd risk taking a date. The new owner has renamed and rebranded the place. Fat Cowboy is a quirky sounding name that wasn't explained to me, but our outting there was a genuine pleasure. Meg's bone-in chicken wings were delicious and plentiful. She had to take some home, as she filled up on them. My cheeseburger, which was not on the menu, was made to order, and really amazing. I was very pleased that even with their extensive and unique menu offerings, including many BBQ items, they were happy to please a guy who asked for something different. We drank only water and soda, so we have no opinion on their spirits offerings. They have a long bar and offer a full array of liqours, mixed drinks, beers, and wines. Fat Cowboy is once again a good spot for families There was plenty there last night, and the atmosphere was convivial and laid-back. The noise level was moderate, as you'd expect on a Friday night dining experience. I highly recommend Fat Cowboy. We came towards the end of the lunch rush (1-2PM?) and were seated immediately. The ambiance is hip and buzzy, with lots of colorful decor. The menu had some very tempting options, even for vegetarians. We started with the buffalo brussel sprouts, a stroke of genius. I'd never thought about dousing this tasty veggie in hot sauce and blue cheese, but it makes sense. This was a very tasty app, and the sprouts were roasted perfectly with crispy outer skins which provided the crunch needed for a good buffalo dish. The special that day was some kind of french dip sandwich which one of my dining companions got. Another one got a cajun catfish sandwich and graciously offered me a bite. It was flavorful. For my main, I got the spring roll bowl and decided to add tofu. It had noodles, peanuts, a sweet thai chili sauce, and lots of veggies. It was MASSIVE. Prices are a little high but the portions definitely made it worth it. I could have taken half home as leftovers if I'd wanted. The restaurant also has a coffee bar which we decided last minute to partake in instead of venturing out into the rain to find a different cafe. This was such a convenient option because we didn't have to fight to find parking or brave the weather to go to a second location. I did a pistachio latte. Someone else at my table got a Mexican hot chocolate. I treated myself to the homemade whipped cream. The coffee hit the spot. Throughout the whole experience the staff was wonderful. Our food came out quickly, and the servers were very friendly and joking with us. I'd come back if I was in the area.

Anyway, I got a pulled pork sub and the pulled chicken sub. I know they seem like similar orders but I need to be clear that the pork is worth the extra money. The chicken is good, the sauce is the same (I think) but the texture of the pork is just that much better. Besides, i got better smoke flavor in the pork than in the chicken. This may have been noise. The sandwich itself was a great size either way. Lots of meat and maybe about 10 inches of sandwich; more than enough for a meal. my only possible complaint is I like a harder crust roll for a sub for added texture. Still, great sandwich. They have plenty of sides and some really interesting orders. ice cream nachos for instance wherein the nachos are waffle cone chips? fantastic idea. There's plenty of ice cream variety I haven't tried. I'd love to go back for that but so far I've only been here for work lunch.
